We usually love this place but today the service was not good and the pretzels were Luke warm at best. My daughter had her pretzels bites that she just got knocked off the counter and spilled by another customer before she even got them — so half were gone on the floor — bummer no effort to replace them or help!

$ 5ish for a bag of pretzel bits my seem like a lot. But let’s face it, that’s standard mall food prices. I like pretzels. I grew up with a pretzel station at the local mall and fresh pretzels have been(one of) my favorite food item(s). So, I arrived midday. There were 2 packs of pretzel bites, 1 pack of mini pretzel dogs, 1 cheese pretzel and 1 plain pretzel. I noticed the massive pretzel bites and couldn’t resist. Wow! Hot, fluffy, warm, slightly salty and buttery with a slightly crisp exterior. YUM! Oh, and HUGE. Like, golf-ball sized. I want to eat more, but I’m stuffed… They’re awesome. No clue why the reviews here aren’t better because I was pleasantly surprised.(They’re better than the ones I had growing up. Yes, BETTER) Go get some pretzel bites sometime. :)

Wetzel’s pretzels has been a part of Paseo Nuevo for well over a decade now. Being a cinnamon lover I remember when it first came into town, I couldn’t wait to go! Not much has changed since, besides doubling my age, I still love a good ol’ cinnamon pretzel! I went in today and had the cinna bits(more bang for you buck) and a side of the glaze(which back in the day was complimentary). The customer service is what you expect from an average college girl that will probably last 2 – 3 months there. It’s just one of those things, no one really wakes up one day and says to themselves«I want to work at Wetzels. for life». BUT with that said it would be nice to train your employees to smile a little more and be a bit more cheerful on a sunny downtown day. Also, I was only give 1 napkin with my order(for 2 people), like c’mon, it’s a finger food involving cinnamon and glaze! I go back in there after I finish ask for«a couple napkins» and I literally get 2. She must be an environmentalist or something. The bits didn’t disappoint though. But what’s up with the glaze coming in a dixie cup? If I’m going to pay for the dip then I expect it to come in the same container as every other dip, which isn’t what you get here. Dip segregation at it’s finest. Overall pretzels are good here, I’ve sporadically gone to this Wetzels and they come through, not jaw dropping but it’s a consistent good taste. The outside tables are nice to count on. It’s the little things though that make you :/

I haven’t eaten an Auntie Anne’s pretzel in years, but I’d have to say that Wetzel’s beats ‘em pretty handily. It’s tastier and not as greasy. I had a Grateful Garlic yesterday that really hit the spot. It was good enough to eat plain but a few dabs of Gulden’s spicy brown mustard elevated it to divine status. Paired up with a cold Diet Pepsi, this was the perfect afternoon snack.

Japapeno pretzel is yum. Eat it fast beacause it goes stale strangely quick. I think Wetzel’s is the underdog compared to Aunt Annie’s or whatever it’s called, but i think if you did a side-by-side comparison, good ol’ Wet’z would come out ahead.

Strolling around with monkey and going to pubs that has no good beers for me, was hard work and starting to get me hungry for dinner. After monkey went for his second pint, I got hungry and can’t wait for dinner any longer so I left him at the pub to pick me up a snack because the pub didn’t serve any kind of eatery. It was Tuesday evening and the street farmer’s market was closing up so across the street from me was Wetzel’s Pretzels and I love their Wetzel’s bits which I use to have back at home. There was a short, dark Hispanic girl behind the counter and she was nice. Too bad I had to describe her like that as I forgot to check out what her name was but I like her as she was nice to me and took the time to ask me if I wanted to have in some of the available flavors and she told me what was available. I was surprised as everywhere else they just hand me the bag and I had it plain all this time. I watch her worked with my bits and she did a nice job on it. I’d go back to this place for the nice service and a quick snack for sure ;-)
