The Palms Barber Shop

I think it’s about time I wrote a review for this amazing barber shop!
I’ve been going to The Palms Barber Shop since I’ve moved to Santa Barbara about two years ago and have had my hair cut by Alex, Erin, and Jesse.
They have given me great haircuts throughout the two years. All of them have been extremely welcoming and easy to talk to about a variety of different subjects. I have had nothing but excellent interactions with all of them.
Definitely recommend The Palms Barber Shop if you are looking for a great hair cut with great service.

This was my first time getting my haircut at the palms and my experience was excellent. The staff was very friendly and I had a nice conversation with Alex who cut my hair. I showed him a picture of the haircut I wanted and he did an awesome job on cutting my hair. If your looking to find a new barber shop I would highly recommended going here. I will defiantly be coming back here for my next haircut.

Definitely give this place a shot if you’re on the hunt for a new spot to get your cut. Barbers are super friendly, quick, and listen to what you want done.

The Palms Barber shop hands down is the best haircut in SB. I called and was able to get an appointment the same day with Erin. She was extremely friendly and accommodated any haircut choice and request. In the end, I gave her a loose idea and gave the professional free reign. I was not disappointed as she gave me the best haircut I’ve had in SB. The price… awesome! For a pro haircut and style will set you back around $ 20, extremely affordable. The Palms is the place to go, no questions asked.

After trying many other barber shops in the area, I finally followed the Unilocal reviews to here. They don’t lie: this place truly deserves five stars. I’ve been a loyal customer for the past two years and have never left the shop without a haircut I’m completely satisfied with.

I would consider this place the top barber shop I have ever been to, just because of how polite, courteous, and homey this barber shop feels, and when it comes to haircuts, everyone who works here knows what they are doing.
I have since moved back to Los Angeles, my home town, but I will mos def make this a sure stop whenever I am back in the 805 area.

If you want a straightforward, no nonsense haircut experience, go see Jessie at the Palms. I moved into the hood about two and half years ago and I returned to a barber, after years using a stylist. Now I’m in a position with no concern about the outcome, appointments are adhered to in a timely manner and speaking of manners … we all could learn what good manners are all about from Jessie.
*note: there are two other barber/​stylists of a younger generation that I’ve no experience with; however, they both follow the lead of the senior member.

I normally am not really active on Unilocal but I had to make an exception. I get my hair cut by either Alex or Erin, both are great at what they do. At my most recent cut from Alex, let me just say his clipper and scissor work was A1 to the highest. The expert flick of the wrist and seemingly effortless craftsmanship is well worth the price. He even threw in a free comb for me. Come here if you want the finest haircut available in the Santa Barbara area. You won’t be disappointed.

Alex is the best barber I have had in Santa Barbara, or anywhere else. Everyone is super nice and scheduling an appointment could not be easier.

Been living in SB for over four years. And in those four years I have been struggling to find the right spot for the right hair cut. It was a hard journey. I almost gave up, for over a year I would get my haircut at fantastic sam. Thats not good, thats dark, thats the bottom, if you know me then you know I hate given my money to franchises. one day I stumbled upon palms. I walked it in, and it was love at first sight. Beautiful and clean shop. Great atmosphere. And on top of that I had the best haircut ever. It was so good that I was immediately stopped on the street and asked out on a date. so yea they are the best.

I just got my hair and beard cut by Alex and he did an amazing job. I knew what I wanted done for the beard but wasn’t sure what to do wit my hair and picked a great style that I love.
Will definitely be going back there next time I need a cut!

Speaking to all the girls with shorter pixie cuts out there who are looking for a barber shop to go to.
After many calls to local barber shops and being rejected because they don’t take female clients, I was recommended to The Palms to see either Alex or Erin. I called and was relieved to hear that they are wiling to do my hair. I received my trim from Erin.
Go to her for your first haircut, she will generously take the time to understand what kind of a cut you want (if you are a particular person with a certain vision for it, or if you’re like me and you just want a cleanup on my pixie cut growing unevenly). She is very accommodating this way, and fun to talk to while you’re getting cut!
Every employee is very friendly and the atmosphere is very warm and welcoming. I have gone to one other barber shop for a quick cleanup when The Palms was closed and I was impatient, and I was not as happy with the cut. I will always return here for it!

I’ve recently moved back to Santa Barbara and needed a solid barbershop. The Palms is exactly what I was looking for.
Everyone here is cool. Alex and I talk music every time. I hardly say anything about what I want with my hair and always leave with a sharp, confidence-​inspiring haircut. Alex knows just what to do!

This is an addendum to my previous not-​totally-​good review on this place, where I had a GREAT haircut and a quite unsuccessful shave.
After I posted it, Alex contacted me immediately, he apologized and offered to reimburse me the whole bill. I told him that the haircut was VERY good and I didn’t want any money back for that, but yes I accepted his offer to give me back the money for the (expensive!) shave. This really speaks HIGHLY of this business.
We all make mistakes, perhaps my thick beard caught him «by surprise», I don’t know what exactly happened and I am sure I must have been the exception to the rule, but in any case what he did made me totally appreciate te place!

First time walking in was greeted by the warm smiles of Alex and Erin.
The haircut was even better! Thanks, Alex! Glad to have a place to call home!

Erin and Alex do it proper! They are knowledgable in all the classic techniques and are on top of the trends too! i’ve gotten cuts and shaves always nice !
They also have great hair products and recommend them for your style!

Had a very great experience with Erin. I needed a last minute cut on Christmas Eve. My usual barber was not available so I looked on Unilocal for the best reviews. They were able to get me in.
Erin was my barber & she did an amazing job! I’m pretty particular about the look of my hair and she did very clean and detailed work.

Just stopped into Palms Barber Shop today and got a cut from Alex. He’s a true artist with the clippers and scissors, and I walked out of their feeling like a million bucks!
Him and Erin created a warm, welcoming environment in the shop, and the way they treated all their clients was absolutely top notch. I will be paying more visits to Palms and Alex in the future.

Super great cut.
Alex hooked me up with a legendary fade with expert precision. He also recommended me a new pomade based on my hair type. The new pomade has been working wonders on my daily haircare routine.
I’m super satisfied with the cut and will be coming back. I’ve been to the other top barber shops in town and Alex at The Palms gave me the best cut I’ve had in SB so far.

Great barbershop! This is the fourth time that I’ve gone to Erin to get my hair cut and she always does a phenomenal job! I’ve never had someone who confidently cut my hair short. She not only did what I requested (a short haircut), but added her own touch (giving me advice on sideburns that ended up looking great and really complementing the haircut). She is someone whom I would fully trust in giving me hair advice. This is by far the best haircut that I’ve received!
I know that, for some, this may not be important, but the atmosphere here is really great, too. Everyone is really low-​key and laid-​back; it makes you feel really relaxed. Although they haven’t cut my hair, Alex and Jesse both seem like really chill guys who are both experts at their craft.
I honestly won’t bother going anywhere else for a haircut after this; there’s absolutely no reason for me to!
