Since no other coffee shops are open 24 hours in Santa Barbara or Goleta, I really appreciate living close to this Spudnuts location. The donuts and coffee are always extremely fresh and the employee(I forget his name right now) is such a class act. I highly recommend this location.

This is a hometown favorite. Now I’m torn on whether I like Pink Box in Las Vegas better than Spudnuts. Still not sure. I love the flavoring and textures of these donuts. They are light and filling at the same time. Not overly sweet but sweet enough. I always try and stop by when I come home.

ZEROSTARS. I ordered the egg, cheese, and bacon bagel with extra bacon. The sandwich was cold, no cheese, and had literally 4 tiny SCRAPS of bacon. When I said they forgot extra bacon, they said they put it on without looking. I’d hate to see a sandwich without extra bacon. Then when I asked for cheese and to warm it up, she ripped the cheese by hand, tossed it on the sandwich and just gave it back. I returned my sandwhich, I wouldnt feed that to my dog. An extremely smelly homeless man was inside eating all the sugar, which also chased off any appetite I may have had left. No one wants to smell a rank oder while eating. I haven’t recieved this bad of service is years, I used to eat here many times a week. This will be my last visit. GOSOMEWHEREELSE, THISPLACEISHORRIDNOW. To boot: they didn’t even have ketchup.

Spud nuts has a great variety of donuts and other pastries. I wish I could eat more than just one so I could try lots of stuff, but one donut from Spudnuts is very filling for me. The donuts here are particularly heavy. I prefer light, fluffy donuts so I can eat at least two before feeling too full. However, I think the donuts at Spudnuts are fried in too much oil, making them soggy(let it sit on a napkin for a while, and you’ll see how much oil comes out) and heavy.

Worst boba drink ever. The boba balls were too chewy and clumped together to the point that you could not suck them through the straw. I guess they don’t seem to care about the quality of their product.

I went to UCSB, and ventured downtown pretty frequently. As Spudnuts is en route to the 101 exit, I’d go by here pretty often and think: «Spudnuts? Donuts made out of potatoes? Not so sure about that.» Then finally, when I was nearing graduation, I stopped in and had ONEOFTHEBESTDONUTSOFMYLIFE. Seriously. And then, I didn’t have a chance to return. So for the next(mumble mumble mumble) years, I’ve daydreamed about these donuts and kicked myself for only having gone in once. And of course, trying to explain why they’re so drool-worthy to others. FINALLY make it back down to SB after(mumble mumble mumble) years, and Spudnuts was on the agenda. Again… stopped in on the way back to 101. It was mid-afternoon, and surprisingly, they still had a decent selection of donuts. I tried donut holes(awesome), old fashioned(not that bad), glazed raised(of course, awesome), and their version of the cronut. That last item — it wasn’t the best thing I’ve ever had… it was OK. I would definitely skip that next time. Wish they had a glazed jelly while I was there, but they didn’t. So the donuts of the glazed-raised variety(including the donut holes) were just as good as I’d remembered. I’d stick with those if I ever came by again. Definitely worth stopping in here for a donut!

Every time I’ve gone in there they just sit behind the counter and don’t acknowledge me. But when a regular comes in they immediately help them. I’ve sat there for ten minutes with no service. I try to avoid going there

I stopped by here around 3am driving down the 101 heading from Santa Maria to LAX. Spudnuts was one of the only places open, and I’m glad we stopped! I think the man working at the time was the owner, and he was very friendly. I got a regular sugar coated donut and it was SO warm and fluffy. It tasted really fresh despite it being the middle of the night.

Donuts: good! Everything else we tried was downright terrible. We stopped here on a Sunday night around 10pm before driving up to the Bay Area, figuring somewhere with coffee, donuts and sandwiches was the perfect place to fuel up. In theory it would have been great. The sausage, egg and cheese sandwiches we got were slathered in mayonnaise. I’ve never seen that on a breakfast sandwich, and it frankly ruined them. We each only managed to eat half of our sandwiches. It didn’t set well at all with either of us, unfortunate before a long drive. The iced coffee was just bad, tasting old and just low quality. I threw away most of it away. Other than two good donuts, most of our $ 15 worth of food was thrown away. A shame since I really had high hopes for this place.

Knock knock! Who’s there? Donut. Donut who? Donut forget to try Spudnuts! I’ve really become a fan of Spudnuts, but only because they sell the best donuts in town — no the best donuts per se. They have a wide variety from cruelllers, to cake, old fashion, doughsants, jelly filled and more. I’m not the biggest fan of this particular location though. It’s kind of ugly. And they taste the driest of them all.

Substantial, tasty donuts. I feel like these days a good donut is hard to come by. Grocery store offerings tend to be dry and lacking in flavor and chains like Dunkin’ Donuts and Winchell’s just aren’t what I remember them being as a kid. I’m not sure if it’s because ingredients and recipes have changed or my own tastes have become more discerning. Something isn’t clicking, though, and for all the calories and sugar in a donut it needs to satisfy. Enter Spudnuts. I hadn’t tried these until a few weeks ago and I’m already developing a habit. These are good, very good donuts. The potato flour(and/or some other magical stuff) gives them a density other donuts just don’t have. The glazing is just right, neither wet and runny nor dry and cracked. A+ ratings on freshness and flavor for the regular glazed donuts, cake donuts, and cinnamon rolls. I’m keen to try their version of a cronut but it’s been sold out so far. UPDATE: So the cronut was a fail, and the cream puffs were also not my favorite. Lesson learned: stick to the classics.

I woke up early on my last day in Santa Barbara for a weekend getaway and was absolutely famished. I wasn’t looking for a full on breakfast since I was planning to have a late brunch with some friends before we headed back to LA. Found Spudnuts and was already intrigued by the name. Upon entering the doughnut shop I noticed that it seemed a bit run down, and tables/floors needed to be cleaned. Didn’t matter, I was on a hunt for a early morning bite and coffee. Coffee was mediocre but I did like that they had a variety of coffee options for you to pick from. The ratings for this spot is definitely for it’s doughnuts. I had the MAPLEBAR. I die. Super delicious and satisfying. I wish I could give the spot a higher rating but I am a bit on the OCD side which would require a bit more cleanliness. I’d come back again for their doughnuts. Check it out! ENJOY!

The food is fresh and amazing, great selection of coffees, and wonderful friendly owners. It’s a hidden jewel and it’s not too costly. Fresh Baked Goods are so deliscious. I’ve been coming here for years and finally had the pleasure of taking some family and friends, who live out of town, and they were very impressed with the food and the service of the owners. It’s a great place and it’s right when you get into SB on State Street so it also makes for easy entrance and exit when traveling. Thanks for a great experience every time I come to see you guys!!!

Quality donuts. Between two people we got a handful of donut holes, a crumb cinnamon roll, a maple-glazed sprinkle cake, a glazed cronut, and an apple fritter. They were all quite good and fresh. Service was fast. The cronut was a bit pricey though. I would definitely go back next time I have a donut hankering.

First stop in Santa Barbara last weekend– CRONUTS! I saw the two Spudnuts locations are the only ones that carry them in the area, being here at 8 am, perfect time to see how many of the 6 flavors they had left. 4 left, chocolate, glazed, cinnamon sugar and maple, which I passed on, but got an apple fritter for the man instead. Just over $ 13 for 4 items is pretty damn expensive, so much that I actually first said«WHA!!! $ 13 really???» but went with it. So much in fact, that I drove to the other location to see what flavors they had there. I know, I’m bad. Anyways, tried these that evening, still crunchy, for sure better than the other location, well different and about twice the size for the same price. None were filled though, so they pretty much all tasted the same, I would say glazed is the one I would buy again. The apple fritter was great. The selection there is amazing, they have some donuts bigger than my head. Great stop if you are in need of some serious sugar.

Throw tradition out the door! These Spudnuts hit the donut spot using potato flour instead of regular flour. I specifically ordered the maple donut($ 1.30) and was pleasantly surprised with what this delectable treat offered. It had a flaky and fluffy texture. They offered other varieties but I had to restrain myself. I had read about this donut chain located throughout the US and decided to stop by while in Santa Barbara. This particular shop is located near a small strip mall with free parking in the front. Who knew potatoes could be so good!
