Excellent service and great coffee & tea. Always greeted with a hello and smile and they’re pretty fast too but never at the expense of making your beverage correctly. Store is also very clean and tidy.

Was able to use the $ 1 off a coconut drink without any hassle. The staff is very friendly, and the shop is very clean. No complaints!

I love this place! I owned and operated my own Coffee Shop and I can tell you the espresso drinks are great The flavor profile of Peet’s Espresso is very smooth and not bitter and still tastes like coffee! I have to say that the staff really make the place happen they are very friendly and attentive! Summer’s quick whit and funny expressions, Super Heidi!, Kevin always happy to help you, Stephanie has the sweetest attitude and Noelle, Lexi,(I know I am missing some names) are all so friendly every morning! It makes the greatest difference!!! Thanks

Best coffee in town, I’ve tried them all. Great whole bean selection too. The baristas here have the best training… other places have college kids who don’t understand coffee so how are they going to make a good cup? The baristas here stick around too which is important so we can get a consistently solid cup of Joe. When you get a great cup don’t forget to show your appreciation and tip these folks.

Cool little spot if you’re on upper state. All I can say is Mayan Mocha please! People are always friendly and I hate using the word Barista, I dunno why, just something gay about that word, boo! Lol

The Internet never works here. I’ve come here multiple times and it’s always the same response, our Internet isn’t working today. If you want to use the Internet, don’t come here, otherwise, they have great coffee, tea, and friendly staff.

This is my favorite Peet’s. I used to have a problem with the inconsistency of their drip coffees, but no longer! They used to use remnant beans from their bulk concession, and you never knew what you were getting when you ordered a cup of coffee. Some days YUM and some days BLECH. But now, they’ve changed that and offer either a dark roast or a light or medium roast. I now stop in several times a month and can expect to always have a delicious cup of coffee, every time. Add to that the homy feeling you get every time you walk in the door, and there is no better place in Santa Barbara to go for coffee.

Top notch coffee(criteria número uno). Efficient, likable, professional baristas. Clean and comfortable hangout. I like the funky, mini-strip location. This place and Handlebar are the best caffeine hookups in SB.

This is Sunday morning, Nov 23rd, and Peet’s is very busy. I went in to buy 8 oz. of my whole bean Café Domingo coffee. Having a very senior moment I forget the name and ask for their«medium roast» coffees — by the way which I have done before. No one there knows. There is no full listing of available coffees on their boards or on the brochures they have. I will now carry the name in my wallet and maybe tattoo it on my hand. There were a lot of customers there, and the two people serving them were barely keeping up. I went away empty handed, but someone there should have known their own coffees and aided a despondent senior citizen. By the way the parking there can be dicey during the week.

Sitting at Peets right now! Stephanie is great, my favorite Barista in town. The coffee here is just so much better than the national chain around the corner(around pretty much any corner) I guess this is a chain too but with so few links it just doesn’t feel like one. I think the prices are a little higher than some of the others but what’s another 30 cents when the place is so nice and the coffee is better?

Spacious, air conditioning, parking lot, great Peet’s coffee, nice pastries, good service. Only thing I would add is a comfy chair. None of those, sadly. Classical music and quiet atmosphere make it perfect for de-stressing or working. A local’s favorite.

First, the coffee is just the best. None of that bitter, acidic or gritty tasting stuff that you find in some of the other chains. Even the iced coffee is smooth flavored. If you don’t like coffee, their teas are really nice. The selection is pretty good compared to most coffee places. The food is okay, some choices better than others and it’s a shame they don’t have a way to warm up their croissants. But what really makes this one of my favorite places to get coffee when I’m downtown is the customer service. The people who work here are not just friendly, they will go out of their way to make a special drink for you if you can’t have something in the ingredients, they will improvise and try whatever they can to help you without making you feel like it’s not worth their effort or that you’re bothering them. What’s not to like?

I’ve been meaning to write an update about my experience with Peet’s Coffee & Tea. Being new to Unilocal,I wasn’t sure who would be reading my post. Still, since I love writing and I love food, I decided to take a stab at it and give my honest opinion. First of all, I misspelled the word«foul» in my last post, it’s been bugging me! There. I got it off my chest! Okay, here’s why I upped the stars for Peet’s: Shortly after writing the review(4 days to be exact) I was contacted by Peet’s and was mailed a few gift cards for complimentary coffee and drinks. There was a hand written note and I appreciate them going the extra mile to make up for my negative experience. I have to admit I haven’t gone back to Peet’s yet(hence why I’m holding back 1 of the stars), but the entire customer service experience has been a positive one. I was really pleasantly surprised and am glad that they will relay my message to the store. One of these days I’m going to be muster up enough courage to order another chai tea latte, or I may just cop out and get a skinny decaf mocha! Either way, it’s on the house, so it’s a win all around! I’m glad I can check them out again.

Consistent team and great java. This corner mall is an odd location and not easy to spot so the customers are the locals in the neighborhood. The store is small so the place feels appropriately cozy with people and customer traffic. The staff seems to be consistent, not turning over every week like so many coffee vendors.

Growing up in the Bay Area, I will always choose Peet’s over everything else. I normally go to Starbucks to study because it’s closer to me, but after today, I will drive the extra couple of miles. The girls here are extremely sweet, very knowledgeable about the different coffees, promotions, and take their time making drinks, without taking too long, of course. They close at 10 which is fair for Santa Barbara and although there isn’t much indoor seating, it’s actually fine because anymore, and it would be packed and loud… like Starbucks. Coffee is great, employees are awesome.

Coffee is excellent and the people are friendly. I’ve been a Peet’s fan for a long time, and I’m glad to be living near one again after my recent move. It makes me nostalgic for my years in the Bay Area. The Internet service, however, is awful. It is slow(I’ll upload a few pictures demonstrating this in a bit), and requires a password that’s only valid for an hour. Getting another hour’s worth of Internet service requires buying another drink(hence my marking of the wi-fi as «paid» on the survey). I came in and bought two drinks at once, thinking that I’d spare the cashier the trouble of running my credit card twice — only to discover that the policy, apparently, is one hour per time opening the register for a customer, not one hour per drink. Their router also blocks access to web sites with no apparent rhyme or reason. I discovered this by trying to go to and discovering that it’s blocked.(For fuck’s sake, why? What better way is there to motivate bad Unilocal reviews then by making me go elsewhere to write the review? And who knows what other sites are blocked?) The drinks and pastries are genuinely delicious, but I think that I’ll be going to the nearby Starbucks in the future. I like their coffee and food a lot less, but at least they don’t patronize me by making random decisions about what sites I’m allowed to visit.

Peet’s is the best coffee, ever! I spend years trying to find the best chain coffee(growing and roasting it wasn’t an option) and I find this about 15 years ago. There is an interesting history to Peet’s: The founder of Peet’s, Alfred, sold it to the guy to founded StarBucks. He and his partner split because he wanted to focus on quality while his partner wanted to expand, expand, expand. Anyway, my wife used to work as a barista, so please remember they aren’t making a ton of money and it’s just a cup of coffee, not a steak dinner. Be polite, tip, and don’t give your server death threats for making your latte’ too strong. The coffee is still roasted by master roasters, and they use sustainable growing methods and profit sharing partnerships. I recommend Sumatra and my wife likes the Garuda blend. Prior to going public you NEVER saw sweet or flavored Latte’s. The accountants and share holders(who probably drink Starbuck’s) changed that. However, the coffee tasks the same and you can’t beat their cappuccino.
