It’s 9:19, my appointment was at 9:00 and I arrived at 8:45. First, when I arrived I signed in and the receptionist said, I thought you were a runner, are you a runner? Agh, yes, I am. Sorry, I don’t look like your typical runner. When I called and set up my appointment, I was asked for all of my insurance info. No problem, gave it to her. I couldn’t find my card this morning and when I arrive they say I would still be able to see the doctor and I can give them my card information when I get home. I was about to call my insurance company and get the id number then I reminded her that she took all of my insurance information over the phone. She says she didn’t. Ok fine. I ask them if they can look my information up. They tell me they don’t know how to do that and ask how do other doctors offices look up information. She also stated the doctor hadn’t signed up with the insurance companies to verify patient information on the computer yet. That explains a lot. With all of the patient information they had on the counter space I could of looked up a couple of patients myself. She added my information to that file. I guess they don’t know much about HIPPA there either. The receptionist rolled her eyes, and had a pretty bad attitude throughout the whole 45 minutes I was in there. It doesn’t take much to properly train your staff. But when I met the doctor it explained why the staff is trashy. She’s horrible too. Dr. Nelms comes in at 9:24. No introduction, no nothing. She speaks with the receptionist, then says with a scowl, «Never leave your insurance card at home. Ever.» If that’s the way doctors introduce themselves to their patients, I don’t want to be seen. I told the receptionist I was leaving and the doctor chimes in from the back, «that’s fine.» If I could give this office zero stars I would. Bad form. I think I will suffer through the pain and find another podiatrist.
