Much to my consternation, I recently experienced the dreaded Windows«blue screen of death» on my 3 year old desktop PC. After several futile attempts at bringing the computer back to life, I called Scott Carpenter aka«Mr. Pink, the Computer Shrink» and described what the symptoms were. Scott was very helpful and patient in discussing various causes and remote fixes, to no avail. I then dropped the box off at Scott’s for more advance trouble shooting and within an hour, Scott had called to advise me that the hard drive had died and could not be resuscitated. Scott then provided me with the specs for a replacement hard drive, and suggestions as to where I might buy one for a reasonable price. He also gave me the option of installing the new hard drive myself, or having him perform the task. I picked up the new hard drive and dropped it off at Scott’s the next morning for him to do the installation. Later the same day, Scott called to advise that the new hard drive was installed, everything was working fine and the PC was ready for pick up. Scott also re-loaded my Windows 7OS and additional utilities. Scott also gave me suggestions on how to correctly restore all of my data(which I had backed up on Carbonite, thank goodness!!) and re-load other aps. A few days later, Scott checked in with me via e-mail to make sure everything was going in smoothly. I found Scott to be very knowledgeable and customer oriented, and it was a pleasure working with him and his wife, Stacy. I prefer, when possible, to support smaller local businesses, and my experience with Mr. Pink, the Computer Shrink confirmed the wisdom of my preference. Great service, prompt turn around, helpful and friendly… what more can one ask for?
