EXCELLENT Food! AMAZINGDRINGS! SUPERBSERVICE! It doesn’t get better than this! We had a company event and from planning to execution we were treated like royalty! Located with views of the downtown beauty of Santa Barbara, where you can see the energy of residents and tourists passing by(drooling at your plate of Brats, unique beer and wine) Hoffman Brat Haus has become my second home, to take my wife on dates, meet my buddies for drinks, work(free WIFI), and have special events! Oh, hey… I gotta go because now that I have written about it, I am going to head down right now! Meet me there and I will treat you to your favorite beer and brat! I own a Resort, with a Café and Bar, and I can honestly say from the management to the chefs, servers and hosts, Hoffman Brat Haus is 5+ STAR!

I live in LA but each time my parents visit me from out of town, we drive up to Santa Barbara. My dad especially loves this town and so I always want our time there to be well spent. We stopped by Hoffmann Brat Haus a couple days ago. While I have a strict diet for health reasons and didn’t have anything this time around, both of them were pleased with their meals as well as their beer(Einstök White Ale). The atmosphere here is nice and our server, who we think was German or from some Scandinavian country, had the common courtesy not to bother us every 2.5 minutes as many servers will do in the states.

Stopped in for HH. Got the 3 beer sampler, glass of Cabernet, and the bacon wrapped brat. Everything was delicious and the staff were very friendly and helpful. There was a polka type band playing live and it added a nice touch to the ambiance. The food coming out of the kitchen looked fantastic and I plan to stay for a meal next time.

Loved this place. Our server was incredibly sweet and answered all of our questions and made great recommendations for what to try. My husband is a picky beer drinker and after letting him try some out, her suggestion was the perfect one. We had the chefs choice on the sausage sampler. We got a mango one and two others. They were all fantastic and the sauce that comes with is delicious! We also got the garlic fries. Do not pass these up! The fries themselves are perfect and they add the right amount of garlic and Parmesan. We tried the Rosemary aioli dip and curry ketchup. Two highly recommended as they went well with our sausages too! Worth stopping in for for a nice drink and happy hour as you’re browsing the Main Street.

It’s a pretty cool spot on state so it does get busy during happy hour and especially if games are on. We went last night to watch the Warriors VS Thunder game and it was pretty rowdy, but fun of course! They have multiple tvs so that’s nice, but only upstairs. I was starving so I ordered the chicken apple sausage salad and lets just say I devoured it. Poor salad couldn’t stand a chance. My boyfriend got the bacon wrapped sausage which he enjoyed. I do wish they had a little more of a menu option other than just different types of sausage, but at least they are good. I do also wish they had a liquor license cause I don’t like beer but they do have wine.

You must come to the Brat Haus and yet the Rubens sandwich. The lean pastrami and homemade sauerkraut is a delish. I would show you a picture but it was so good i ate the whole thing.

Very rude service. They made us wait for 30 minutes before even bringing water. She brought food equally late.

Best hotdogs I have ever had. I had the Hoffman and my dad had Thuringer. The bread was soft. The sausages were yummy not too salty and had good amount of herb. The service was kind off slow.

Mmmm! the garlic fries are really yummy here. My boyfriend and I order the Reuben and the Hoffman burger which are super good as well !! The Hoffman is just a regular burger and I never tasted anything like the Reuben. I really recommend trying the Reuben if you’re looking for something new. I had a couple of cons. One was the cleanness of the menu and bottles of condiments that they had on the table. They were really sticking and I didn’t feel comfortable touching them :/Also, the waiters kept coming up to us, the same 2 people kept approaching us which was nice that they were trying to make sure we were okay but they would literally come up to us every 5 minutes which was a little bothersome. Despite that, I had a great experience and they had live music every Sunday at 7pm and the music is quite good and refreshing.

I’ve been meaning to stop here for a bite almost every time I visit Santa Barbara — and finally this last time in March I was able to! Four Starts with 214-ish reviews sounds about right. This place is pretty darn good! I’m a big fan of wursts, and German food in general… and let me tel you; you really get what you pay for here and more. First of all — their European Beer selection is outstanding, and for your money, you almost get TWO beers. The glasses are large and you could easily share your beer with a ftriend. And then there’s the food. My wife had one of the best Reubens she’s had in a long time — and my Bavarian Bratwurst was more than delicious. What’s even better is that everything here is very fairly priced — especially for Santa Barbara. The location is great too; right near one of the entrances of the Paseo Nuevo outdoor mall. Seating is either on ground floor on a patio, or upstairs in a balcony-type setting. Either way, the people-watching is half the fun! Certainly worth a visit if you want food and drink that will fill you up, prepared well, and at a decent price.

We had the sausage sampler: snake, duck, and mango habanero. We also asked for onion and sauerkraut on the side. and got charged $ 3 extra! It’s not a lot of money by any means, but we literally got a spoonful of each, on top of which they didn’t even tell us there was an extra charge nor did it stipulate anywhere on the menu. So that was a bit disappointing. Servers were nice. Food was ok.

You didn’t comp my meal. I walked out after the manager made excuses about how I should have known I was being sat in the«seating area»…which no one bothered to inform me. And even so, how do you justify the terrible service? Your managers last words to me were NOT, «I apologize for not informing you let me comp your meal,» they were, «That’s right and don’t come back!» You probably don’t have to worry about that. And btw I didn’t write this review because I’m mad about anything, I’m just relaying my experience to potential customers so they know to expect bad service. Thanks.

Beers and Brats make for one happy belly! It is hard to decide what the best part about this place is, but I will start with their location. Located on State Street, at the entrance of the Paseo Nuevo shopping plaza, Hoffmann Brat Haus is my usual stop after some shopping. As an avid people watcher, I suggest sitting upstairs on the outside balcony, but they also have a fire pit and heaters in their lower patio area. If it is a chilly night you may want to opt for the lower patio. They do also have some tables inside. On to the brats. I must admit that I am not the most adventurous eater, so I haven’t explored into the extreme exotic options, but I have yet to have a brat I did not devour in its entirety. You get to pick your own toppings and their brioche bun really does the trick! They do not come with fries, but you can order them separately and there is enough in one order to share. Beer me. They have some great European beers, as well as some local beers on tap. On my most recent trip I took notice of their ‘Drink The Tour’ sign which lists 27 different beers. At first I thought this was a daring challenge which requires you to drink all 27 in one sitting, but after talking to the server I was relieved that you instead receive a punch card to keep track of your many visits to try a variety of beers. Once you have completed the tour you get an honorary tee. I am in! All around this is a great place to grab a beer and indulge. Cheers!

Loved this place! Had an amazing selection of brats in all kinds of meats. Toppings were great, prices were great. And ohhhhh the fries. They have dipping sauces and all was just delicious. It was a close walk from our hotel the Canary which made it the perfect place to stop in for a beer and meal!

Good location, good service, but the food was very average. My husband has been craving currywurst since we left germany and he was very disappointed.

Come for the Brats, stay for the beer! An amazing and exotic selection of sausages. So, if you want to venture out and try something new, like say rattle snake and rabbit, this is where you’d get your chance. The fries are also pretty delicious with a nice selection of dipping sauces. What I love most about this place is their great beer selection. They’re the only place in Santa Barbara where you can get great Belgian and German beers straight from the source. You can even sign up for a «passport» of sorts and challenge yourself to drink all of their beers!(not in one sitting, of course.)

We just happened to glance at the Menu on the sidewalk and were looking for breakfast. They were offering that with beer so we took a chance! This place has amazing waffles and their breakfast burrito was good. Two beers to wash it down and some cool music playing while sitting outside made for a great way to start our day of exploration.

Belgian beers and sausages! Doesn’t sound like my place to go right? But they actually serve vegetarian hotdogs! And they have so many Belgian beers, I like Belgian pale ale, strong and tasty. They even have gluten free beer choices, my gluten intolerance is getting worse, that’s why I rarely drink beer anymore. Tried a light beer with Sierra mist, it was refreshing. My vegetarian Chipotle hotdog with spicy bell peppers and onions was very tasty and flavorful. But I got upset stomach later cause the hotdog had grains in it. I just couldn’t find gluten and meat free hotdog on the menu. That’s all they got. Oh well at least it was still delicious. Hubby loved his beef hotdog. We sat at the balcony on second floor, it was a cool place with views of the downtown Santa Barbara, very relaxing and chill place to grab beer and snack meal in the afternoon.

I’ve wanted to come here for the longest. Each and every time I’ve been here with non-sausage lovers(is that possible), and had other plans. But, finally, the day had come… and boy was I excited. 1. Weisswurst($ 8.25) — Pork & veal, finely ground, cooked up perfect. Served with caramelized onions and sauerkraut(my choice), it really couldn’t be better.(5.0 stars) 2. Belgian Fries($ 4.25) — served with 2 dips(choice of 6 kinds), they were medium thick with skins, crispy, and totally delicious.(4.5 stars) 3. With a wonderful beer menu, I partook in a ever fine Weihenstephaner Vitus($ 7). The outdoor patio is very Santa Barbara. So much so, it totally misses out on anything Oom Pah Pah/German. No flags or banners, no music, nothing. This is the one demerit. Foodwise, it’s the total bomb(in a good way). I loved the food, and will definitely be back.

I will cut to the chase on my review! I came here last year with friends and we had a great time watching the Fiesta parade for FREE! Plus we bought food and drinks. This year(2015) they started charging $ 20 per person just to reserve a table on the balcony. Are you freakin kidding me? I get that it’s Fiesta’s, and all these places downtown start gouging customers by charging ridiculous prices but this by far has to be the worst! Our waitress was great so no issues with her but damn you guys should be ashamed of yourselves!!!
