I recently called American Leak Detection for a slab leak problem at my home in Lompoc. They were extremely prompt in returning my initial telephone call and had someone come out to my home to inspect the problem that very same day. Their representatives were extremely polite, professional, and respectful, quickly identified the problem, and gave me several different types of repair options and quotes. I had them do the work (a re-​routing that was reasonably priced for the work involved) and I am happy with the result. I would definitely use them again and would highly recommend them for both leak detection and leak repair work.

I noticed my pool going down on Friday and called American Leak Detection they were very busy and could not get out for 10 days. The next day, Saturday, it had gone down two feet. It is a double infinity pool that is connected to my house and we were having a big Sunday brunch and swim party for about 80 people. I called the emergency after hours number and left a message. Fritz called me and after explaining the situation agreed to come right over which he did. Fritz isolated the returns and I was able to fill the pool for the events. Great service and great company. I’ve used American leak detection a couple times over the last few years. To find water leaks that are undetectable with out good equipment. There always eather right on or very close to the leak. I’ve only ever delt wiyh KC great guy. Might be giving them a call this afternoon to come locate a leak in shell beach. Ill update later if need be but I dought I will these guys are top notch

If you have a choice and another company can find your leak, I strongly suggest you use it. This company did find the leak, don’t get me wrong, but don’t expect anything else from from them. In my case, they came to my house to find a leak near my pool. After those leaks were fixed, the ground was still moist and so I knew there was some other leak. This was either something new, or something they did not point out the first time. The person at American Leak who took the call was adamant in saying that in the 10 months since they were out there had been 80+ earthquakes so I would have to pay full price again for an inspection. This was so well rehearsed that I couldn’t help feeling they were constantly arguing with unsatisfied customers. The same attitude was reflected in the technician who came out.
Want I want from people who provide service in my home is, if not a genuine concern for my problems, at least a pretense. And I want people to be fair and helpful. These guys are almost gleeful in your misery and they are out to ding you for every penny they can get.

We had a leak one year ago that was repaired by American Leak Detection. One year later, the same leak occurred again. We called ALD and they came in and was able to repair the leak and took responsibility for not being able to completely fix the leak from last time. It’s hard to find a company that still takes responsibility for their mistakes, but they did. Which is why I’m giving them 5 stars. Fritz also has many years of experience and they are a trustworthy team of people.

I wish I could give this company 0 stars. I called them to find a water leak on my property that I already knew was located outside of my house. The office person explained the prices to me and that if the pipe that had the leak was PVC (plastic) that they would not be able to pinpoint the exact location of the leak, but would be able to find the general area. Considering I have a leak that’s ½ a gallon a minute and the water company has given the residents of my area a strict water budget, I was willing to accept their policy.
The technician came out and took 1 ½ hours at least to figure out that the leak was outside of my house and then proceeded to take another 1 ½ hours (at $ 175 an hour) to find an area in my driveway that is under concrete where he said the leak was. He marked off an area, and told both my husband and I that THIS AREA was where the leak was and his office would be sending us a quote by 12 noon the following day.
I waited. Nothing. I called their office 3 business days later and they were unable to give me a quote because the technician was waiting to speak with the owner, Gary about the leak. About a week after that I received a call saying that they needed to come back out to do more testing. This was after they had already «found the leak». At least they weren’t going to charge me, as I had already paid them $ 700 and thought that the job was done.
The tech came out and then needed to speak with the boss again. They concluded after they had already «found the leak» that they needed to do further testing as well as some digging to be able to reach the pipes at a closer proximity at $ 175 an hour. We politely said that we would do the digging and call them to come back to finish the job they had «already finished». I expected this further service to be at no charge because as I’ve stated numerous times, they «already did the job», but for some reason decided to change their mind. I’m guessing they just wanted more money. Not cool.
It’s now been a month since their first visit and I am still waiting for them to come out and finish the job. All the while I am still paying for the water leak while this company refuses to finish the job that they «already finished» without being paid again for the same job.
If you have a leak that you need found, please do yourself a HUGE favor and don’t call these people. Instead call Superior Leak Detection who will find your leak no matter how long it takes for ½ the price.
