I see that Woody’s is now closed. No big loss for the neighborhood. I only ate here the one time. Food was substandard. Service was slow. My son still calls Woody’s «the slow place.» Hopefully, something good will go into this space. It seems like a good place could make some money at this corner.

Meh. This place really doesn’t do it for me. I don’t think I will be coming back here again. It’s really not the worst place but it’s also one of those places you really don’t want to waste an opportunity to find something else better in the area. The only worthy thing about this place are the decent prices but even at that — Farmer Boys which is just right next to it — is so much more worth my appetite!

What happened to this place? They recently changed the menu and it really sucks now. I got carnitas tacos and there was a huge fat chunk I couldn’t believe they’d served it that way. Plus it was a dry taco, no lettuce, no cheese nothing just a crappy corn tortilla and gross carnitas. Before the change I used to get there 2 taco meal for $ 5 and it was so much better now it’s barely edible. Me and my work buddies used to eat here quite often. So sad I really really liked this place… Will never eat there again after today. They took off wraps from the menu and put on pizza? what is that? Bring back the old woody’s!

I have never seen or heard of this place so I decide what the hell lets try it out. First thing I see was that they use Hawaiian bred for their buns… oh hells yeah! love that bread. Then I see the pulled pork sandwich. I decide to get the luau sandwich, which is the pulled pork, with pineapple on Hawaiian bread. I order it with fries and a medium coke. I notice that they completely wrapped the sandwich in foil and I immediately think, my bun is soaked. So when I unwrap it half the edge of the bun is soggy. I really hate that especially when I have bitten into it yet. I understand if the burger is juicy and the bread soaks it up but not before I bite into it. I cant stand that, at least toast it enough that it will with stand the juices. So I was eating my soggy sandwich and wasn’t to happy with the super salty pulled pork and then the extreme sweetness of the pineapple chunks? I’m guessing that might have been one of the reasons why it was so soggy maybe they just scooped a bunch of canned pineapples and didn’t strain the juice and poured it over the sandwich. I wasn’t too happy about the sandwich. The worse part was the taste of the french fries. I know they were some seasoned fries but they had this odd taste sort of like cleaning solution was sprayed on to it. It had a bitter taste that I couldn’t really explain it as food related. I ate a couple and didn’t even finish the rest. The best part was that the Coke tasted great… maybe because it helped wash down the food I just ate. Not sure whats going on with this place. Seems like they need to start tasting their food before they send it out or plan out how they put their food together. Sorry Woodys.

Worst overpriced place ever. The food like I said for what it is, is overpriced. Its not all that great either. Portions are absurd and they want to charge for every little thing. Its a sad place and not worth going into.

I don’t know why this place had such bad review. Everything about it was great. The restaurant was clean and the service was on point. And the food was all natural and very flavor full. Besides the pineapple on the«Maui AI»(something) burger, which added a great flavor, the large Hawaii roll made it a 10+. The reasons why its only $* is because it not open late and(which is the most important) the fries were a disappointment. Lets a admit it, a good burger deserves/need good fries.

I ordered the Big Wave Pastrami for $ 5.25. The Pastrami was tender and delicious. An excellent Sandwich from this Drive Thru.

Came in to try a $ 1 fish taco. Ordered it well done like I do whenever I order fish tacos anywhere, I like my fish crispy! My taco basically came out like two little fish mcnuggets covered in what seemed like thousand island and mayo dressing and a metric ton of lettuce.(see photo) The morsel of fish tasted pretty much like mcnugget batter since there wasn’t much of it. Nothing about it had any redeeming qualities. The rest of the menu looked blah! I would suggest instead of going here, go to jerrys doggs, rubios and Carls Jr for all your woodys like items. My crystal ball seems to predict they will suffer the same fate as Fazolies.

First timer at Woody’s because of the reviews. I got the Luau pulled pork and some fries. Simple, right? Uhmmm can someone tell me where Woody’s hid all of the taste and flavor? Everything was REALLY bland. The pulled pork, again, none of their famous«sauce» and honestly the taste verged on bad. This place definitely needs a lot of work if it’s going to survive. As one of my fellow diners mentioned below, there are a lot of restaurants up and down 17th Street. However there is a plus, customer service was really exceptional.

Decided to try this place in the little strip area where we usually go for Chinese or Cheese steak. Bad call on my part. It wasn’t bad per se, there was just nothing good to recommend about it, other than the idea. I had a pulled chicken sandwich, which was just OK. The best part was the King’s Hawaiian bun, which I can buy from the supermarket. Sweet potato fries are an option, but the portion was pretty small. Then, with the place pretty empty, it just seemed that the kitchen was really slow for a weekday lunch, right around noon. I hope you guys make it, but somehow, I doubt it.

someone tell the owner how to make a fish taco. these were disgusting, tasteless, small, and not even reasonably priced.. wish they offered refunds for food that is terrible guess i will stick to eating the mediocre Chinese food restaurant 10 feet away. at least that place hasn’t given me the runs!

I got two $ 1 fish tacos(with a mailer coupon) and I really want my $ 2 back. The fish tacos were probably some of the worst fish tacos I’ve ever had, to sum it up with a few words, the fish taco was a fish stick in a hard corn tortilla, with dryed out cabbage and chipotle mayo. These things were TINY! They took me two bites each to finish! The sad thing is that regular price, these things were $ 2 each on the regular priced menu! Stay at the Rubio’s right across the street! The other sad thing was that there was about only 2 or 3 people inside this place around dinner time and that everything else on the menu was pretty overpriced and sounded like something really standard. 1.79 for a regular sized drink? $ 3.45 for 3 chicken strips? COMEON. I will be hella surprised if this place is open three months after my visit. I heard the guy behind the old Fazoli’s is in charge of this new venture and it looks like it’s ready to be franchised out but if they don’t fix things around I don’t see that happening, especially with powerhouses like Knowlwood’s, Carl’s, Jerry’s and Farmer Boy’s right around the corner.

2nd visit here and tried their Woody’s Special — 2 Fish Tacos, Chips & Drink for $ 5.45. The wait was pretty consistent to the first visit. Overall, the fish tacos were a-ok. I would probably opt for Rubios as Woody’s fish were sizable smaller than Rubio’s fish tacos and lack much taste in general. The chips were good and their two salsa variations was pretty good as well. One had a nice kick of what seemed like Habernero chilis in it while the other was Pico De Gallo.

2.5 Stars AOK-the poor selection for the kid’s menu. This corner(close to Tustin and 17th) must be the most concentrated area for food places. There are so many places to eat. I was going to Jerry’s Woodfire Dogs and saw this place. It is new. Customer Service is great. They kept checking up on us. However, we were the only ones in the restaurant. It has a large dining room and 4TV screens which was great for watching the Lakers. The restaurant is super clean. ~The Hotdogs were average. AOK. ~Not A Place for Kids! They do have a kids menu but no substitues for the fries. I usually opt for fruit instead of fries. Well, that is ok. But… when I asked for milk they said they only have soda for the kids. I found this a bit strange and, indeed, it was a first for me. I am not sure how many people encourage their children to have soda, but I am not one of them. A hamburger, hot dog, and taco place would otherwise be ideal for kids. They have«Tropical» type drinks. They are not fresh fruit but made from syrup. Overall, I would say AOK. but the kids menu was just a poor plan in my opinion. Jerry’s Woodfire is a better option, in my opinion, for hotdogs.

I’ve always been reserved about eating here seeing as how there’s a good Wok Chinese place next door and Knolwoods is around the corner. I never really liked the Fazoli’s that was the prior establishment. Anyway, tonight me and some friends decided to try this place out. We were greeted by a gorgeous young lady working the register and another woman helping for Drive-Thru. I decided to ask what was good and as she offered a few items that she recommended; we went with the pulled pork sandwich. It was good; not over cooked and it had plenty of flavor in it. The inclusion of pineapple was an added surprise that ended up being a bonus. I also added chili fries to the order for us to share and WOW. The subtle addition of BBQ sauce to their chili made such a difference. Their fries were a little thin, but they were not lacking in any flavor or over-salted. They seemed to be cooked to perfection. The food was cooked fast and brought over to our table with a smile. I’ve never been to a fast food place that the waitress/cashier(both in this case) come over and ask if the food is to your liking and clean up your table. She even offered to refill our drinks where the drink station is a do-it-yourself. 3 pulled pork sandwiches 1 chili fry 1 small fry 3 medium drinks for $ 23 and change Service 5 Stars Food 5 Stars Cleanliness 5 Stars Would definitely recommend it and I will be going back to order to try some different items and also to ask out that beautiful girl. :)

What a fun new neighborhood find. Good food. Casual atmosphere. Try the tiki sauce. Super good. The service was really helpful and nice. I mentioned it was my first time. The gal behind the counter gave me several popular options. I went with the chili burger — I did not leave hungry! Easy parking and(looks like) convenient drive-through.

I don’t know why this place has gotten such a bad review(and no I am not an investor or have any stake whatsoever in this business). Here is why i think this place is better than all the other places that happen to be right near it. 1) the food is not greasy and i don’t feel like i ate a lard-burger when i’m done(like i do at farmer boys) 2) it has a better environment than any of the other fast food places near by(Knowlwoods is not fast food, so i don’t count that) 3) Its better than Knowlwoods because you actually get your food sometime this decade. 4) the food is not your typical crap, everything is well thought out and somewhat unique. 5) the Chilli. This is by far the best chilli i have ever had at any place, hands down. 6) the pulled pork sandwich.(mine was not soggy like the other reviewer, maybe he got the bad one not sure). its amazing just enough sweet just enough meat, not to big, not too small. That said, i’m afraid i give this place about 6 months to live. the location is horrible and this particular building seems to not be able to maintain a business. I advise everyone give this place a try before it goes under. Oh and one last thing, TRYTHESWEETPOTATOFRIES!!!, i bet you can’t get those at any place withing 10 miles of here.

You can tell this place is owned by «investors» and not an owner who actually gives a rat’s ass. How do I know? I asked the manager. As a matter of fact, the«investors» were sitting at a table just a few feet away from me discussing portions and advertising and menus. Maybe they should just work on coming up with good food. The sandwich I ordered was recommended by the manager as their #1 item. Ok, I’ll bite. It was the pulled pork sandwich. What I got was lukewarm, tasteless pork, smothered in pineapple juice(from the pineapple rings in the sandwich), tomato and bacon(on a pork sandwich? yuk), and a soggy bun(though it was fresh). My friend had the french dip which was just as mediocre. Bland and soggy. Best thing: the onion rings. Fries were ok. Service was great(of course it was empty… and new) This is an example of a place that opened to try and make money. The investment group also has a stake in Pollo Loco, whatever difference that makes. This is just a very sub-par place with below average food but lots of enthusiastic employees(who are hoping like mad this place survives and they don’t lose their jobs). I won’t come back, just because I paid 11 bucks for crappy food. I hate that. Sorry guys. I know you mean well but you have NOT paid attention to food. All the surf decorations and surf music and kitschy stuff in the world doesn’t make it good. I wasn’t impressed and, by the looks of the empty tables, others aren’t either. I wish you luck but there are too many«meh» burger places in orange county ANDYOU’REINTHESAMEPARKINGLOTASFARMERBOYS! Helloooooo. Good luck, but I give you 6 months unless you make your sandwiches more than what I can get anywhere else, any time, with better flavor. And please, could you heat the pork up? Lukewarm pork is gross.
