I have been going to the Healing Sanctuary for yoga with Allison for the past six months. She is a great instructor. Doing yoga has made me more flexible, reduced muscle tightness from weightlifting and I believe improved my overall health. I would recommend yoga here.

I have already recommended this place to all my friends, and now I recommend it to all you Unilocalers out there. I was recommend this place by a guy I work with because I had injured my back. The pain in my back was going all the way to my toes and when I went in the first day I couldn’t even stand up straight. My appointments were always with Pam, who I believe is the owner of the Healing Sanctuary. She was always so caring and made me feel like she actually cared about getting me better than any doctor I have seen in the past year. While I still have back problems seeing Pam 3 times made it so I could at least make it through the day without wanting to die. I unfortunately am unable to afford my own medical bills, so when my parents stopped paying I had to stop going. BUT if I ever have the money, or my back gets to the point it was about a month ago then I will be back there in a heart beat. Thank you Pam from the Healing Sanctuary.

I used to be loyal to the Body Centre in Newport, but I discovered the Healing Sanctuary and never turned back. The new office is located in a commercial building, but it is still a tranquil place. The relaxation room(closed off reception room) offers you some down time with your choice of a dozen Yogi teas before your massage, if you get there with time to spare. I think they succeed in creating a peaceful and quiet place. Rooms are dim and feel rich– they feel cozy. While they offer lots of other kinds of healing, I can only comment on massages from Christine. She is dedicated to making sure you get relief and comfort during your session, and responsive to your needs. She must take good notes of her clients because she already knows my tension points and how to work certain parts of my back the way I prefer. She also stayed overtime on a Saturday to accommodate me. Overall, I think she’s innately sensitive to people’s needs– I recommend her to anyone! They often offer good deals, like 80 minutes for $ 85 or 50 minutes for $ 60. However, though, my peeve is that if the receptionist puts you on hold, you will be holding for at least 5 minutes. This part always confuses me because it’s never insanely busy when I come in. UPDATE: Christine has moved to Moonstone Massage Therapy at the Cartel Salon in Santa Ana.

Really great value if you have a coupon or use one of their specials(sign up on their website). Normally a massage would run 85ish here but I used a coupon and snagged a 50 minute massage for about 50 bucks. This was a fantastic deal as they have a separate spa showering area in the room which are things that you normally find in much more expensive places. The waiting area is really calming and quiet. The staff was professional and really knew what she was doing.

When I first came to The Healing Sanctuary in the fall of 2008 I was in pain and full of fear about my newly-diagnosed interstitial cystitis. I was referred to acupuncturist Pamela Jacobson by my physical therapist, and I can honestly say that starting sessions with Pam and massage therapist Mika was a crucial step in my healing process. From the moment I entered The Healing Sanctuary, I felt welcomed, calmed, and truly cared for. I was treated as a whole person, not just a patient with disorders. What a difference from the typical doctor’s office experience! Each room in the The Healing Sanctuary is thoughtfully composed and decorated, with soothing lighting and music. It was indeed an experience of sanctuary. Pam has extensive experience in treating all kinds of pelvic pain conditions, and I would recommend her to anyone experiencing chronic pain, anxiety, or digestive distress(I’ve had experience with all of those!). Satch, another acupuncturist at the Healing Sanctuary, is also wonderful, though I only saw him once when Pam wasn’t available. He has a calming presence and places the needles very gently and deliberately. After each acupuncture treatment, I received a therapeutic massage from Mika, who is excellent. I feel that the massages and the acupuncture really worked in tandem to contribute to my healing. Months later, with the combination of acupuncture, massage, medication, and yoga, my IC is in remission. I highly recommend The Healing Sanctuary to anyone on a journey of healing.

I’ve had the massage as well now and it’s really quite good. Their holiday package ends Dec 31st and if you go try it out now, and like it, you can purchase these packages before the end of the year and use them when 2009 rolls around. The best bargain around right now! You don’t get the Burke Williams spa experience as they don’t have the steam or sauna rooms, nor do they have that communal spa you can relax in, but for massages and facials, this is pretty damn good!
