This location does not have a lot of reviews so I definitely feel that the true character of this location is not fully known…& it should be. I eat mainly vegan & have been going to Subway a lot over the years. This location takes the cake in providing the worst customer experience I have ever had in a Subway. After many lovely hours celebrating OC Pride in Santa Ana, four friends & I came to acknowledge that we were all hungry but needed to satisfy different preferences so we chose Subway as our meal of choice. As we walk in I notice that there are three employees & two of them are on the line while the other is eating in the corner(seeming as if she’s on break) back behind the register :/but come to find, she was just doing as she pleased cause it was slow. I order a ft long Veggie Delight no cheese on Italian & the gentleman on the shift began to get the sandwich working. I always have them put the sauce & avocado first so that the bread absorbs the deliciousness & avocado doesn’t end up halfway out of the sandwich when you add it at the end. Everything seemed okay until I notice that the amount of avocado added to the sandwich was a significant amount less than what a normal portion comes out to be & the rest of the avocado was quickly wasted & put in the trash. Staying flexible in life, I ignore the lack of consideration & continue to add ingredients, I ask the man if they have cilantro being that I didn’t see it on the line but as it turns out, the gentleman doesn’t speak an ounce of English, misunderstood the word cilantro & begins to add one of their sauces that contains dairy. The blonde female on the line overhears the miscommunication, laughs & then corrects him in saying«No!.. Cilantro,» while exaggerating the same word but with a heavy Latin accent so that he would understand. The gentleman stares with no knowledge on how to fix his mistake & I begin to look at all the employees waiting to find out how they planned to fix the problem, then the female on «break» comes up with gloves on ready to finish the sandwich & the gentleman goes to the end of the line to begin someone else’s sandwich. She scrapes off the dairy sauce that was added & asks what else for the sandwich. I ask her if I can have it remade & with a severe & heavy amount of attitude, the female gets new Italian bread down the line. With the contaminated ingredients, she transfers everything on the original sandwich onto the new piece of bread & once again asks what else for the sandwich. In disbelief, I continue to tell her the ingredients & she continues to performs each action with a sufficient amount of attitude & lack of patience. The friend of mine who was behind me gets their sandwich finished first, wrapped & placed on the counter ready to be paid for, then mine gets finished after. In attempts to finish my transaction before my friend(since I was before him,) Miss Attitude flings off her gloves & begins to bag the sandwich on the counter that is not mine, I stop her & say that the sandwich she is holding isn’t mine & in disbelief she ends up needing to reopen my friend’s finished sandwich to confirm that she was about to bag & hand off a sandwich that wasn’t mine. When she finally bags the correct sandwich I let her know that a different friend & I will be splitting the cost($ 5). She says she can’t do that & that in order to split it she begins to reopen my sandwich & wrap both halves separately & place them back in the bag. She rings up the sandwich & the total for one comes to 4.27, before paying, the friend I’m splitting the cost with confirms that I wouldn’t have to pay another 4.27& that it would only be the remaining .73 cents if she was doing it that way, she said yes then continues to charge my friend. Once the transaction is complete, she then tries to charge me another 4.27 for what is literally a five dollar footlong. We both get upset & tell her that what’s happening isn’t correct. The blonde employee comes up to try & fix the problem but says that since it was already charged the way that there is nothing they can do. My friend & I ask to speak to a manager then are told that there isn’t one present on the shift(which I found very surprising with all of the activities happening that day due to Pride). We ask for a refund & they don’t have the ability to complete one. The interaction & delay on the line became so severe that a police officer who was in line comes up to try & resolve the issue. The officer ends up paying the difference w/extra tax. When the issue is finally being resolved, my friend tells the ladies that we’re very unhappy with the service & none of the employees cared enough to apologize or even acknowledge what she said about the service. By the end, all of my friends were so upset that we could no longer imagine staying in the building to enjoy our purchases. My friends & I have service experience & can’t imagine going back. Value your time & don’t waste it in this location.

I live in the same building. Come here at least twice a week. The lady who works there is teaching how to say ingredients in Spanish.(I am trying to learn Spanish.) She is adorable. Food is good. A regular subway with great staff.

Usually really nice ! I just hate that they charge extra for EVERYTHING… even to toast your sandwhich and they dont even tell you that. If you ask for no meat they charge for extra produce. LOL Helllooooooo! They have salami but no option for a salami sandwhich so if you get ONLY salami they charge you ectra meat! BOGUS!

A few years ago I went in for a sandwich. I saw a few roaches walked right out. My friend got food poisoning about 6 months ago at this place. If you are suicidal and plan to off yourself in the least conspicuous ways, then by all means, eat three meals a day here. Just make sure the life insurance covers you for food poisoning.

Subway… Staff is ok, some bad eggs some good ones nothing amazing. I come here often and it’s never been anything to write home about. Food is good though :) They have their ups and downs when it comes to how fast they service customers. I think it’s mainly customers not knowing what they want. Other than that its not a bad place to have lunch or grab a sandwich especially if you don’t want to go into any of the local restaurants. Quick bite in and out.

Came around 2pm on a Thursday and there were only 4 people in line with me. 2 employees and no back up staff in case of an extra rush. It was awfully slow for a subway place. I mean, pick your bread, your meat, your cheese, your veggies, your dressing and decide if you’re comboing it… pretty simple, right? Apparently not. They have free wi-fi and they’re around the corner from my office. Just wish it wasn’t always so slow.

It’s Subway, so you know what you are getting into. If you are reading this, you are looking for something quick, inexpensive, and relatively healthy in downtown Santa Ana. You have come to the right place. The interior has been redone, the workers are much more friendly, and yes, the bread does seem to be a bit fresher. I gave this four stars, not because it is gourmet cuisine, but because the staff is friendly, as fast as they can be with 8 people yelling out peppercini at the same time, clean, and the overall convenience of the place. Other places to go for fancier grub, but if you want a healthier cheaper option in the downtown area, this place is for you.

This is my subway! My vegetarian ex-co-worker used to go there everyday and order the same veggie sandwich no cheese with chipotle sauce, the same way everyday, yet they always ask him what he wants(I wonder if they think he’s all of a sudden going to start eating meat one day!?) They’ve changed management however. 5 stars because I come here quite often, but in reality it deserves about a 3.

Nice staff but I am positive they must have just been overwhelmed by the noon lunch crowd because they were out of certain breads, no feta cheese, cookies weren’t baked and they weren’t stocked up on the drink lids. Roomy for a subway and even though they were still busy the place was clean and the staff was still quick. I am huge fan of my veggie delite sandwiches and when I am in a rush for lunch I usually default on Subway but I feel like I still haven’t found my «go to» subway location, that one that just has everything right and gets everything perfect.
