I #love saint city session for the community it’s built and established around the culture of hip hop. It’s currently located in Santa ana in the basement of a church, which is pretty cool if you ask me! Saint city is available to everyone of all ages, especially for kids. It’s safe. There are some guidelines, but it’s more for your safety and your best interest. And that’s a-ok with me! All the supplies are provided for you, and you’re also more than welcome to bring your own. It’s a cool space, plenty of room for dancing, whether freestyle or learning some steps. There is a foosball, pool table and plenty of great music! There is not a set agenda or schedule, which I prefer, it’s open and flexible and you’re not stuck doing something you’re not into. It’s free! it’s a great place to do your own thing around other creatives, from all different experiences and walks of life. You never know who you could meet. It’s also not far from downtown Santa Ana’s Artists’ village, another plus! The community has changed over the years, as Saint City has had to move venues a few times, but that’s ok. It makes the community more diverse. There is also plenty of parking and it’s not a difficult place to find. I am not aware of any other creative space like Saint City Session in the Santa Ana area. Saint City currently meets on the 3rd Saturday of each month @ 7pm, it is open to everyone. It’s free, sometimes there is food/snacks, not always. but hey, why not bring some to share with everyone else. Saint City, never makes you feel like an outsider, it’s a creative space that has always been welcoming. If you’re looking for a creative space to practice your craft, skills, etc. or receive feedback from others, meet new people. You should go to Saint City Session.

I heard about this place from a friend and after a few long months I finally had the time to check it out. My experience was pretty good. The people were welcoming, the space was plenty, and the music was good. That’s all I need to get me going. In addition, I can’t think of any other session place in Santa Ana. Ambiance: * Like all places to session. It is a safe and welcoming environment for people of all ages and from different backgrounds. Whether you are black/white, low/high income, hip-hop/jazz, anyone is welcome! Space: * Plenty of space to play pool, fooseball, paint, chill, or just session. Music: * The music is pretty cool. Generally live Djs and able to adjust at your request. Parking: * Parking is generally plenty. There is a private lot where you are more than welcome to park. If not street parking is around the area. Overall: 5 stars. Once again I can’t think of another place that offers a place to session. No problem with parking, pretty cool people, good music, and a great place to session. Apparently I hear other activities happen here as well such as art and music. Looks like I’ll be back for more! Advice: * Plenty of parking * Not in a sketch area as it is under a church. * Careful with driving, some streets are one way.

Few places can accomplish what Saint City Session has in Orange County: foster a community where people of all ages, nationalities, and social backgrounds can come together and share in the beauty and artistry of hip hop culture. Whether you are an MC, poet, dancer, visual artist, or DJ, this free session provides a positive outlet for people to explore the freedom and joy of expression. As a dancer, I have been blessed by the atmosphere that Saint City Session encourages, where artists of all levels can have a place to share their art without the fear of judgement or ridicule. Open discussions and mentoring are a natural occurence at the session when veterans of there respective artforms share tips and technical assistance to those who are just starting out or are just curious. If you’re looking for a place to learn about and share in the phenomenon of hip hop culture, Saint City Session is definitely a stop on the itinerary! — bboy don
