OC Drumming

My name is KGB MAD and I have been going to take drum lessons almost a year. I live pretty far 40 min away but I drive there because Keith is the best drum teacher and Stacy is very accommodating and super nice. I actually needed to reschedule a class and some other issues I have had, Stacy always helped. Keith is not your typical teacher but he will make you understand even if he has to hummm to the notes. His teaching method does work, I can play drums now. Im gonna continue coming to get better. Thank you Keith and Stacy !!!

OC Drumming Rocks! I really enjoy my lessons with Keith. His passion for teaching and drums is unsurpassed. Being this is a full time drum school, I have never had my lesson cancelled or changed due to my teacher out playing on my scheduled lesson day which has happened may times with other teachers. I appreciate his dedication to his students. I have learned so much from him in the past year. Thank you Keith and staff at OC Drumming!!!

Keith is clearly a talented and motivating teacher. His passion and love for drumming resinates. Our son loves the instruction he receives, and Keith has fueled his passion and desire. He has pushed him in a way that makes it fun and challenging. Needless to say, our son is light years better than where he was a little while ago. Keith and OC drumming is a great drumming school! I had been to a lot of other teachers in the area I found that Keith actually cared if I understood the material and was patient with me until I got it. He didn’t get down on me when I made mistakes like the other teachers, that made me feel stupid when I made mistakes. His enthusiasm for drumming is amazing, it made me really want to practice! He is always encouraging I look forward to Wednesday evenings knowing that I’m going to a teacher who makes me feel comfortable! I highly recommend OC drumming Keith is fantastic and the scheduling department is always super helpful. I wouldn’t go anywhere else as I have been everywhere else, I found my perfect fit Thank You!

All my life I wanted to learn how to learn to play drums, but I could never find a instructor that I could trust. After looking up
and meet Keith, I knew I was in a very good trustworthy hands.
He was very patience with me and knew how to instruct me in way that I have fun with the drums and at the same time learn to play the drums.

I have no prior musical training or background but I have learned a lot since I first started almost a year ago. I can now read notes and able to follow along on some of the songs that I like.
Keith is an amazing instructor who taught me how to understand time signatures, different note values, and how to read a drum sheet music. The good thing is that he is able to relate this to the music I actually listen to or music that we are all familiar with. He finds ways for me to understand the technical concepts and see how it’s actually used.
In addition to this, I learned proper posture, drum rudiments, and developing my sense of time. He emphasizes the importance of precision over speed in the beginning, which, in my opinion, is crucial in developing my coordination and actual understanding of what’s really going on.
He values the importance of practicing everyday and how this can improve both my speed and precision as I progress.
I can’t imagine learning how to play the drums any other way. Other instructors might teach you just how to play certain songs, but Keith would teach you the fundamentals, the technical details, and playing right. And all that for a 1-​hour session per week at a very good price.

My 7 year-​old daughter has been taking lessons from Keith four about 1 year now. She has learned a lot and been showing off to her cousins, aunts and uncles :) Keith is great with kids … he’s patient, funny and knows how to motivate kids.
I did some researching before hiring Keith. I wanted a teacher who knows his stuff and at the same time can teach. After talking to Keith, I knew he was the one. Besides playing, Keith also focus on theory, reading and techniques which I appreciates.

When we moved to the Santa Ana area, we needed to find a new drum teacher for my 16yr old son. I met with alot of different teachers, but thought Keith was «just my son’s speed». He is detailed in basic rudaments, and fun and funky with his song teaching selections. He really pushes sight reading, which is huge, since moste teachers do not do this. Location good, and price very resonable. We are working up towards college auditions, and Keith is right on the same page as we are.
