Marketplace Café

Just left there with a to go order. Waited 25 minutes for a cup of soup and half salad. They failed to give me the cookie I paid 2 bucks for. I have never had a problem with an order to eat there and I enjoy the food, but they need to work on their take out service

It’s delicious. The service is excellent. It’s not a fancy place, but it has the the important parts right.

I ordered a classic French dip and it was delicious. my son said it was excellent! :) i haven’t been to a Nordstrom café in years. great experience– clean restaurant and wonderful customer service. we also had their royale cookie. it was so yummy– they warmed if for us!

Unlike the Nordstrom Café at Los Cerritos Center which (at least 15 years ago) seemed darker and fancier, this café is very open, simple, perhaps a little boring, beige and cafeteria like (I didn’t realize there was outdoor seating). Why four stars for something so three-​star? We only stopped by for a pre-​movie glass of wine, but the service was excellent, as though their manager was having a Be the Best Server You Can Be! contest and had them all on secret camera.

This review is mostly intended for my server, FERNANDO. My friend and I went in for just a quick cup of soup on Saturday, and the process was very pleasant.
Note: They do have outside patio seating, and it was a really nice day out for that. However, the only downside is that the view is of the parking lot (boring) and faintly distinguishable hills covered in smog. Normally I like people watching, but that parking lot view wasn’t cutting it.
Back to Fernando. Fernando greeted us with a good, hard worker attitude. He checked in on us very often, but not so often that it was unnecessary or too much. He was very attentive, and made sure we had refills without us having to ask. Fernando provided an experience I have NEVER had before. I say this because when it came time to tip him, neither my friend nor myself had cash on us so we asked him to run our cards. Our soups were $ 4.27, and being such a small amount, I wanted to tip him decently. I asked Fernando to run my card for $ 4 and he came back saying he felt bad and only ran it for $ 2. I was so surprised. As a server, I would think you would be thrilled at having an almost 100% tip, but he didn’t think it was the right thing to do. Which, in the end, I’m okay with because I saved $ 2 dollars. Isn’t much, but I just wanted to give Fernando what I thought he deserved. He was great and I would go back just for him.

I had the maple-​glazed bacon club again. I think I am in love with this sandwich. Literally. I am literally in love with this sandwich. I want to marry this sandwich.

Excellent service and nice and quiet café inside of Nordstrom. The sandwiches are really good you can get salad or chips. Love the fresh berry bowl. Beats the mall food courts the waiter was nice and attentive like a 5 star restaurant.

I love this café! The food is awesome and the servers are exceptional. I was waited on by Michelle who was so attentive, friendly and cheerful. They also have another excellent employee named Annelise who is always smiling and bound and determined to make sure you have an A+ experience. This team goes above and beyond.
Thanks Nordstrom for hiring the best of the best and serving up the yummiest food around! I’ll be coming back many times!

The most delicious food! The restaurant serves the best of the best cuisine and fresh salmon. The soups are also my favorite. I eat here whenever I can and get the best service from the staff.
You’ll find the restaurant to be extremely clean, light music and an outdoor patio. I can’t say enough about the manager and the staff.

Great food, friendly service, nice atmosphere, and good prices! This place has everything I want for a quick meal while shopping.
I’ve been coming to this place for years, and I won’t stop anytime soon. The food is good quality and served in a clean friendly environment. The Chinese Chicken Salad is a favorite, as well as the California Grill Sandwich. Both under $ 12, and you get table service as well!
I love this place, as does my daughter, her young children, and even my husband! I’ve been her too many times to count and have never had bad food or service!

Yes it’s a smidge overpriced but the food is so good and the service can’t be beat. Steven is an awesome server — really friendly and attentive (cute too :)). The tomato soup is really yummy and I love their bread. Great desserts too. Great for a quick lunch in the middle of a work day.

The waiters are attentive and friendly.
Tomato basil soup is delicious.
They offer bread and butter, free.
The chicken cilantro salad is very refreshing and Amazing.
The order line needs improvement, especially try to have more people taking orders.

I come here often because I am beyond tired of the rest of the mall food. It can get expensive about $ 12-​$ 17 for lunch (sandwich and ice tea)
The menu was recently redone which in my opinion is a lot better. Different items were added and some old items were kept. Service is always great, they are all so friendly and very welcoming.
I would give more stars if they at least gave a mall discount for us that go to Nordstrom’s café and E Bar everyday.
Other than that 5 Stars all the way!
But really– Starbucks is opening in a couple weeks, in the mall– Not sure if they will give mall discounts but I am a gold member, so I get discounts and rewards at any Starbucks. I buy coffee every morning ($ 4 latte) and sometimes at night at the E bar that’s $ 30-​$ 50 a week just on coffee. Over the 5 years I have been at this mall, all that money adds up, Sorry once Starbucks open I don’t know how the E-​bar will do.

The food is great the ambiance is nice and clean. I ordered the peppered sliced steak sandwich which was unique in taste as in had a bit of sourness but it was good nonetheless

Love this place! A girlfriend of mine brought me here for the first time for lunch and been coming back ever since. Very spacious and airy seating with both indoor and outdoor seating.
Pleasant environment with kind staff and excellent choices for lunch. Always up for some dessert and coffee as well! Plenty of options for the picky eater as well as flavorful delights for the cheating days :) Great value!

Had the freaking AWESOME roasted pork tenderloin today! WOW! Five star all the way, so juicy and tender and the flavor was Fantastic! The black beans were good and the spicy pickled red bell pepper really surprised me. Nice acidity and fire-​y kick
plus the ROASTED GARLIC Potato Soup was a creamy delight. So happy I got the bowl instead of the cup!
Service was great as usual, price for what you get is spot on. I personally think that Nordstrom Café is not pricey given that the quality is on par with what I pay: pay a little more, get better food.

I’ve never eaten at a Nordstrom Café, but finally had the chance last week. Not bad! I really enjoyed the chicken and goat cheese salad and the service was friendly and professional. The café itself was quiet and tucked away on the third floor of the store.
That said, I probably won’t be back on any regular basis. This isn’t really a satisfying as a dinner option, and for lunch, it’s on the spendy side.

I love this Nordstrom Café. Located on the third floor, the environment is cozy, intimate and friendly at the same time. They have great salads, I especially love the Cilantro Lime Chicken Salad. Some other must trys are Angel Hair pasta and Salmon & their carrot cupcakes. I heard they also have great sandwiches.
This is not a full service restaurant, you will order and pay for your meal upon entering and will be seated and served. Their service has always been great, I never had any bad experience so far. Their prices are very reasonable as well.

When the mall’s food courts are too crazy, crowded, noisy and hectic, give this quiet corner of Nordy’s a try. A nice alternative when you want a little peace while grabbing a bite to eat.
Seemingly a little understaffed with the servers doing double duty taking food orders at the counter. But make no mistake, you’re still in Nordstroms as the staff come off as very polite, professional, efficient and helpful.
Quiet, well laid out, with a nice view of the OC in the distance. The large glass walls allow lots of sunlight in.
Food portions are adequate, our drinks are constantly being refilled and our satisfaction is of the utmost importance. And we didn’t have to drop a grip of money.
If I’m ever visiting again, I’d keep this place at the top of my list.

Nothing soothes the soul quite like a nice lunch at the Nordstrom Café after a morning of hardcore shopping. The staff here was very friendly from the cashier to my waiter and some of the other waiters. My soda never went empty and they gave me the standard Nordstrom To Go soda.
The food was tasty and high quality as always. I had the half sandwich, soup and salad. I was disappointed to find out they don’t have blue cheese anymore because they had probably the best blue cheese I’d ever had. But the perfectly carbonated soda made up for it and the lime cilantro dressing I got instead was really good.
There’s lots of seating available including a nice outdoor patio. You’re not going to be able to drop $ 5 on a meal here. I spent about $ 12 then added tip on top of that but for a moderate splurge located conveniently in the walls of Nordstrom, it’s definitely worthwhile.

They have an awesome combo of salad, soup and sandwich (tuna salad or turkey). They sandwich is ehhhh but you come to Nordstrom Café for either salad or soup anyways.

Service is slow but diligent. Place yourself where ever you want to sit and your waitress/​waiter will come to you to check up and refill, etc.

Such a beautiful day… and what do I do? I go inside to Nordstrom Café. This is why though… I was craving a grilled cheese sammie with tomato bisque soup. So the place I knew had it is Nordies!
I did take advantage of the weather and sat out in the covered patio. Nice and breezy. This is what we ordered today:
01. Kid’s Meal Grilled Cheese with Tomato Bisque Soup ($ 5.25) — 4 Stars
— I know what you’re thinking… a Kid’s Meal? Well, let me tell you that this isn’t any regular kid’s meal. You’ll see why in my pix. it’s a lot of food for a kid. Maybe not so much for a growing teen but for a kid, def TOO much food. It came with a side of fresh fruits, a small bowl of tomato soup and a drink. All for $ 5.25. So many of my friends go and order this now. Yes, they once were the ones that LAUGHED at me. Look who’s laughing now peeps! lol…
02. Chicken Apple Goat Cheese Salad ($ 9.95) — 4 Stars
— Grilled Chicken with crispy Apple Chips and Crumbled Goat Cheese with a light vinaigrette dressing. For $ 9 Bucks, I think it was a bit on the smaller portion. The plate wasn’t too big so they could’ve been a bit more generous. I’ve been to plenty of other places their portions are more for less money. Remember, it’s just a SALAD! I’m talking about the greens and not the grilled chicken.
Unilocal… it was light and fast with great customer service. Can’t beat that! Not close to being a good grilled cheese sammie but for the price, I’ll eat it when I crave it.
