Duke’s Charbroiler

This was my first time eating here. My wife ordered the chorizo breakfast plate and I ordered the sausage breakfast. I also ordered a side order of French toast. The chorizo plate was very good. My wife ordered it with extra egg so that it’s not too spicy, and they brought it out just as she asked for it. My sausage breakfast was good. The sausages were cooked well, the potatoes were okay, and my eggs (over medium) were a little undercooked, but I didn’t want to complain. I noticed the Spanish speaking customers, which were approximately half the people in the restaurant were treated with more hospitality than the other customers, including us. My sour dough toast was burnt on one side so I sent them back. Prior to letting the server take back the toast, I sliced the toast in four way pieces so that they wouldn’t just scrape off the toast and return with the same ones. I could tell this kind of pissed off the server, but she exchanged the toast with a warm toast. She then returned with our French toast, which was cold. I told her about this, and she didn’t believe me. After she touched my toast, she took it back to the kitchen and was going to have the cooks do a new order for me. Something told me just to get a refund, because I thought they were going to ‘f’ with my food. When I went to the register, they were talking about me in Spanish (I don’t look like I can speak or understand Spanish). When they saw me standing at the counter, one of the cooks asked my waitress, in Spanish, «Is this the Asshole who returned the burnt toast?» to which the waitress responded, «Yes. That’s the stupid asshole.» I smiled and told the cashier to give me a refund for the French toast, in perfect Spanish. The workers behind the counter all stopped talking and as their jaws practically hit the ground! I then told them, in perfect Spanish, «You ignorant fuckers look real stupid right now. You should be ashamed of yourselves!» My wife and I then walked out of the restaurant shaking our heads. If you don’t speak Spanish fluently, I wouldn’t recommend this place, as you probably won’t receive good service.

BACON AVOCADO CHEESEBURGER.
I’ve never dined in, so I’m just rating the food. It’s a big burger, and I love everything they put in it. They load up on avocados and bacon, and I totally appreciate that I’m getting what I paid for.
FRIES.
You just need fries with your burger. No exceptions.
FRIED ZUCCHINI.
Okay maybe this serves as the one exception. Their batter is fried extra crispy, and delicious with ranch.

I am not sure how or why this place is in service. The prices are ridiculous on top of the fact not being that amazing! I’ve tried multiple things on the menu and nothing has even come close to me thinking oh that was good. Or that was worth it. I work right next to the location and everyone in my office feels they are crazy with what they offer and for how much. I know there other location by Main place mall closed down. I had been there once and it was even worse. So I see why they are closing down all over. Maybe that is why they need to charge 6.00 $ for a grilled cheese. I rather wait to eat then stop here.

Ordered a blt here and ended up with lettuce full of muddy dirt ! Absolutely unacceptable this is exactly how ecoli is spread, obviously they do not wash there lettuce and I’m concerned about what else doesn’t get washed, I used to love eating here but lately the service here has been super disappointing :/
They just lost a good amount of customers because my family and I will no longer buy food here

Great place for a good grilled burger ordered avocado burger combo satisfied with portion and quality was great took a little while in the drive thru but worth the small wait wasn’t too bad. Will be going back

I work near by and i’ve been eating here for well 20 years, foods always been good. Burgers are awesome.
Management doesn’t focus on customer service. You won’t get a smile or a thank you.
Getting a little pricey now.
I ordered a pastrami sandwich, double cheeseburger and 2 reg cokes and spent almost $ 20
My pops and I use to eat at Dukes 2 – 3 times a week. Now I go once a month due to cost.

LOL this place is bomb!.. I love coming here for breakfast. Dont expect to get treated with fancy service like other places. this place is straight forward not alot of people would agree but i really like that alot about this place.

This place is the go to place when the students are hungry. They treat the students as they would adults. It a great place to grab a quick bite.

The best burger spot in all Santa Ana. Even better, best burger spot none compare. Use to come here with my parents as a kid thos was like 15 yr ago. Till this day burgers and fries remain the same exact amazing taste. Brings back good memories.

So there Are many places that fill the need for a sloppy. Amazing breakfast. Now coming in to dukes with this in mind u might think all is gonna be great. Until the mean mimi looking cashier steps up and greets u with a pissed of look in her face and an attitude worse than a hydra. She reluctantly takes ur order with a look of disgust in everything your saying. But yet the second you walk away shes enjoying her day morning. Laughing with coworkers and having a blast. Oh did i mention leaning on the counter while watching despierta america. So thank u for ur attitude this morning miss mimi wanabee. I wont be coming back. Food was good though. Cooks are awesome. One star for the attitude

Came in here for the first time, ordered the bacon cheeseburger with chili cheese fries. price was a little to high. But the burger was awesome, fries were OK. Overall four-​star would’ve been five but the price.

If you want a great cheeseburger combo. This is the spot. Good prices, but most importantly, good tasting burgers and fries. Not to mention their home made ranch. Try it and see for yourself. I’ve been coming here for over 15 years.

This place is NOT GOOD!!! Be AWARE. They charge higher prices than what their online menu states. A small drink online says it is $ 1.39. I just went there and was charged $ 1.99 for the small drink! Everything I ordered from them for breakfast costs more than what the
ir online prices state. This is FALSE advertising and I think even against the law! Food is nothing special. Stay away !

Horrible. The carpet smells like pee. The food tastes horrible. My husband got the carne asada plate and the meat was red and the beans were refried from can and the rice was gross. I got a hamburger and it was super rare, gross tasting and chilli cheese fries did not taste god either. We left out food as soon as we tasted. We complained about the food and they gave my hisband another gross hamburger. The customer service was very bad. They were rude and irritated by the cuatomers. i will not come back again. I Do NOT reccommend it.

Working in Santa Ana off and on for the next few weeks, and this place is right around the corner. My burger was dry, the fries were horrible, and their prices weren’t anything to rave about. Id still give them a chance for breakfast, cuz ive been to places like this can do a good breakfast but not so good lunch, and vice versa. Id pass on lunch next time though, and just have the Del Taco, or Subway nearby.

Went there for dinner tonight with the family, and we won’t go back ever. Food is overpriced: 2 jr cheeseburguers, 1 bacon burguer, one avocado burguer, fries, onion rings, and 2 small drinks was over $ 28!!! To top it off, the gave us over fired onion rings. The hamburgers were tasteless, even my 6 year old didn’t like his cheeseburger. If you want ranch dressing, be prepared to pay, they charge for it. Farmer Boys burguers are way better, and with better taste, duke’s burguers don’t have any taste at all.

This past weekend, I went with my family. To enjoy a good breakfast but instead it was the opposite.
The Cashier, who I was hoping to order my breakfast with, was busy helping other clients. So, here comes this other Cashier, asking to help me. So I started to give her my order.
But she forgot to include the two Orange Juices and said that one of my order of three coffees, was already picked up by my family member. Which I confirmed later, that it wasn’t true.
When I went to talk to her about the missing Coffee, she knew she was wrong and said, «are you coming for your missing coffee».
Then I asked her about my two missing Orange Juices and she said that she didn’t heard me?
I told her that, this was the same reason why I never want to order with her because my order is always missing something.
I talk to the Manager and he got everything taken care. I just hope that this doesn’t happen to other clients.

I like this place. I am always a fan of the ‘mom and pop’ shop and I like the menu. The burger is what I expect it to be. Its not some mind blowing item that will take you Nirvana, but its still pretty good. My norm is a cheeseburger with grilled onions and a fried egg. Sometimes I will get cheese fries with grilled onions. My girls tend to vary. they try something different each time (dad taught them right) and they have been happy. This place would get 4 stars if I didn’t have to double check everything every time I went. Word to the wise, if you customize your order, check for accuracy. Other than that I think this place is doing a good job and it seems to have been that job for quite some time.

I would stay away from this place if you expect good service, and an accurate order. As a company, we decided to give this place a try since they sent out to go menus to the surrounding businesses.
We spent about $ 200 USD on our company order for our celebration lunch, which included steak dinners and other entrees. Half of the order was fine, but all the steak dinners were not cooked as requested, and we were missing 2 hamburgers in the order. We requested medium rare, and medium on the steaks, and they cooked all our steaks well done. This means they accept a 50% DEFECT RATE for their products, which is not a great policy. This means 1 out of 2 orders will be incorrect, missing, or not prepared correctly. Not goods odds in our opinion.
When we called in, we spoke with Mario and complained about the problem. They proceeded to inform us that their system only allows them to put «well done» on their receipts, which is not what we were told when ordering. Mario continued to tell us to call back 2 weeks later to be compensated for the wrong and missing items.
Upon calling back, we spoke with the GM Tony, and explained the entire story again. To our amazement, Tony informed us they do not ever offer compensation for problem orders, and made it clear he did not believe us. He then continued to assure us that there is nothing they would do to rectify the situation.
Please stay away from this place, they do not care about CUSTOMER RETENTION, and only care about the $$ they make on you.
