DECEPTIVE and UNFAIR BUSINESS PRACTICE.. .I questioned a price quote for flooring on a contract that Kevin wrote because it seemed very high; a real estate professional that I know — who is also a general contractor — agreed that it was «too much.» The answer I received to my question was an email from Jonathan — an individual whom I have never met — that began by saying «Kevin asked me to send you this email.. .»
Article 13 of the contract used by DE Enterprises reads «You, the buyer, may cancel this transaction at any time prior to midnight of the third business day after the date of this transaction. See the attached notice of cancellation form for an explanation of this right.» The contract that was given to me had no attached «notice of cancellation form for an explanation of this right.»
Kevin insisted that I come to his office to sign the contract ignoring the fact that I said I was very busy and driving to his office in Santa Ana was very inconvenient because it is about 30 minutes from my home. He also insisted that I make the deposit in cash. After considerable thought and research, I realized that his proposed project was not in my best interest because I am on a fixed income and I advised him of my wish to cancel the contract. This notice was given to him in writing and was within the usual and customary three days associated with signing of contracts.
Following my written notification of cancelling the contract, I received an email from Jonathan with a «Home Improvement Contracts Consumer Guide» attached. This guide was NEVER provided to me at any time prior to signing the contract; it was, however, provided to me when I indicated I was going to cancel the contract. It was at Kevin’s insistence that I spent 30 minutes driving to his office to sign the contract. The «Home Improvement Contracts Consumer Guide» indicates that the consumer’s right to cancel does not apply if the contract is signed in the contractor’s office. I believe that DE Enterprises manipulated the contract signing so as to deny me the usual and customary right of contract cancellation.
I am posting my experiences with De Enterprises hoping that I can help other consumers avoid a business that is unethical to its customers. I am pursuing legal remedy to this situation for the return of my deposit.

I highly recommend this company and they came recommended to me by multiple people who work in the industry. Kevin and his team are excellent and highly skilled. I used them to remodel my kitchen. My wife and I had the vision of what we wanted it to look like and Kevin was able to bring it to fruition. In fact, it looks better than we thought it would. We absolutely love our new kitchen.
Although I’m sure my project was not the biggest job they had going at the time, I never felt like that was the case. Kevin was always available when I needed him and took a considerable amount of time to work with us to make sure everything turned out beautifully. He is also a great guy who is fun to work with and is not scared to give you an opinion about what he thinks would look best, even when it will make his job more difficult.
As to the quality of their work, the counter-​top fabrication/​installation, back-​splash installation, sink installation, and cabinet work was top notch. All of the people used to complete the project were clearly top notch craftsmen. Thank you Kevin!
