First had bun bo hue in Houston Texas at a place called bun bo hue duc chuong. Ever since then I fell in love with it. So I came back to california and found this spot and it turned out to be the same owner. Food is great!

This place is okay leaning towards the bad side. I loved the aroma of Bun Bo Hue of this place, but the flavor was lackluster and didn’t live up to its name. Small bowl is 7.50 but large bowl is 10.50. Very pricey compared to other restaurants.

Best, fresh and quality Bun Bo Hue. Super fast to go. I just call and arrive 10 minutes later and the food is ready. I recommend stewed beef and roast chicken rice, too.

2.5 overall stars don’t do this place justice. The Bun Bo Hue was delicious. There was so much flavor in the base. The plates where huge sizes! You can supersize it and the bowl is probably bigger than your head. If you wanna get authentic vi dishes, this is the place to go. The restaurant was clean. Great customer service! The server was nice and attentive.

bbH was delicious. And 1st time I ate«Banh beo» and«Banh bot loc» at BBH restaurant. Those were good tho. My best recommend is «fried chicken and rice«I forgot to take the picture of this dish.

Before I ate here it was okay, but I think the owner switched it up, the bun bo hue was legit this time around, usually most places use a lot of msg, which I don’t like, but this place definitely has gotten better, add that sate in, gangsta bowl

Bun bo hue is so good and tasty here! It’s so hard to find good bbh around town. So I’m really happy to find my go to spot. I love it when the soup is not too oily but adds a good spicy kick to it! The restaurant is very neat and and clean. The food is the bomb!!! Can’t wait to come back!

I’ve been back to this restaurant many times. I have to say… After dining at other places in Little Saigon, BUNBOHUEDIEPTHANHTHANH’s spicy noodle soup is one of the best in orange county. I am satisfied after every meal here. And their refreshing drinks just add to my delight of dining here. I WILL be BACK :)))

The soup is great! It’s cooked with real meat and bone and not a bunch of MSG and other chemicals. That’s why I don’t get dizzy or feel dry after eating the Bun Bo Hue and this is THEMOST important thing in a restaurant to me. MSG and other harsh stuff make my throat dry and my ears red and hot. That never happens at Diep Thanh Thanh bun bo Hue. Also, the soup is not too spicy or too hot so I like to add a little more chili and the chili paste(sa t). Love the green jelly drink too(nuoc mat). My favorite smoothies are avocado and durian. Try bò khi and bò lúc lc(beef stew and stir-fried beef cubes). Fried chicken with rice is great, too.

Horrible Bun Bo Hue! Sorry to say but it was disgusting and very Expensive. Other reviews told enough about how bad it is.

The Bun Bo Hue was alright. Like how the soup base was mild so you can add more chili oil to it. The restaurant is clean from what I saw today. Staffs are friendly. I would stop by if in the area but would not come often…

So before I came here, I checked the reviews and saw how low it was and that really scared me, but I was invited to go here; if not, I wouldn’t have bothered driving to this restaurant. So since the the place specialized in bun bo hue, I got bun bo hue. I would say the small size was a lot, but being a person that likes to eat the noodles more than the meat, I was disappointed. The meat to noodle ratio was a huge difference. Not just that, but the soup lacked a lot of seasoning and flavor. I had to put in two full scoops of chili and it still wasn’t enough. My boyfriend called the nui bo luc lac and it was nothing like the picture on Unilocal. It was oily and some of the meat were pink, edible, but bo luc lac shouldn’t be partially pink. I tried one of the pasta noodles and It was chewy and was almost impossible to break down. The meat to ratio portion on this dish was opposite of my bun bo. The amount of noodles was way more than the amount of meat. The flavor was horrible on that and overall I would recommend to not go here.

The person who owns this restaurant sent me a «you’re funny» compliment, in which I could not understand. It read«They mom owner different resturant that why they try to come mess with us because my resturant take all they Coustemer». Trying to make sense of it, my friend had to try to decipher the message because I had no idea what it read. My friend thinks he’s saying that I’m «funny» because I came here since my favorite BBH place closed. I’m still pretty bummed out about it because now I have to waste my money eating at bad places(like this one), looking for the right one. This Hung guy THINKS that other people are coming to «mess» with his restaurant. Excuse me, but first of all, my favorite BBH closed before this place even opened. And second of all, with all these 1 – 2 star reviews, I don’t think this restaurant is taking ANYBODY’s customers. And lastly, this place is a sad excuse for BBH. Maybe work on your food first before you go around and try to look foolish. So please check yo’self, before you wreck yo’self.

My mom saw the ads on TV and decided to give it a try. What a disappointment! The pig knuckle is «hairy». Ewwwwah! I didn’t even bother to check the pig knuckle in my bowl which only had few discolored slices of beef and a cube of pig blood. They tried to offer us the side dish which was«banh beo» and we took the offer. They brought«banh beo» to us after the noodles were served. What the heck! I don’t think people want to do starters after having main course. They charged us for drinks that they didn’t bring them out to us. To sum up: we won’t come back here no matter what. Good luck to you, chi Diep Thanh Thanh. :D

This place is terrible. It is a waste of time! The bun bo hue is disgusting. The beef was shredded and lacked flavor. Couldn’t even eat half of it. And that was pushing it. So, decided to cut my losses and go pay. Our bill was $ 25.41. To add insult, I gave the cashier(owner) $ 26. And she didn’t even give me change. I know it’s only. 59 cents but that’s not her right to withhold my $!!! It is VERY True!!! Bad service and worse character in a person to do that to anyone! !! Shame on you!!! We will never return and advise u to never even try it!!! *** after this review. I received a «you’re funny» compliment from I’m assuming the owner or related to. Telling me that my review«was not true». That was so rude! Instead of focusing on his sinking business, he felt it was necessary to antagonize. Enuf said about this business. A **2 stars** for you Diep Thanh Thanh This restaurant is named after a Vietnamese singer, whom I guess had been singing in Asia or Paris by Night music entertainment back in the days. I had came here awhile back after when they had open and was surprise the place was empty, barely one customer was dining on a weekend. In my mind I was thinking uh oh this is not a good sign so what to do «to eat or not to eat?»…oh what the heck, lets just go right, wrongggg. LOCATION: in Santa Ana, in the same plaza as Dunkin Donuts & Phở Cali Restaurant SERVICE: So we walked in, sat down and was greeted by this man waiter. He stands there and tries to tell us what they specialize in and give recommendations of oxtail/kobe bun bo hue(which cost extra $ 3.50−4.50 more). —Man waiter – please give your customers some time to look at their menu. ***** I’ve seen this a lot at most Asian restaurants where waiter/waitress stand there like a leech taking your order when you barely sat down for 1 second. Please be more Americanize and give your customers some time to look at their menus, please ***** MENU: pretty simple —However, for a grand opening and new restaurant the price to my opinion was kind of high. If you want to start out great and make money, you should start out low and see how well you do in general first with a low-medium price. If all goes well, then slowly & gradually start bumping up the prices. But if you start out with outrageous price, then screw it man! BUNBOHUE:(S) — $ 7.52(L)-$ 10.83 —broth was dark, brown dull color and not your typical clear soup like elsewhere —for a small size, the bowl seems like a large bowl here but its mostly a lot of broth instead of extra meat. —sliced beef was kind of tough/chewy —flavor was ok, but I’ve had better(seriously? Yes, Seriously!) —noodle was undercooked Overall, would I come back? I don’t think so, the taste wasn’t what I was expecting in a nice bowl of bun bo hue; therefore, this isn’t the place for me. You can definitely give it a try. –Quan Hy has really good bun bo hue there though.

Is this even Bun Bo Hue? I’m sorry this may come out to be blunt or mean but I’ve eating at so many Bbh shops around the Vietnamese community to know what good Bbh taste like. The broth is very bland. It didn’t tasted like Bbh at all. It tasted like the broth was just cooked in pork bones and seasoned the broth with some salt. Very little lemongrass aroma and little to no flavor of the Bbh aroma! I have to add literally 2 full table spoon of fish sauce just to give my soup a bit of flavor, and still it was bland so I gave up. I just ate all my meat to keep me full. I didn’t want to leave hungry and wasted my money. I ordered a small and the bowl was huge. They’re not cheap on the the portion so that’s good. But good amount of food portion doesn’t make up for the taste. The service was good. The staffs were friendly and nice. I have no problem with that but the food quality is what’s important in the restaurant industry so I have to critique this place the way I do.

For an establishment that only serves Bun Bo Hue as the main dish it didn’t make the grade. This is a family own business so the service was kinda slow even when you’re the only customer. They only have one cook and one server. Their Bun Bo Hue looked good but it didn’t pass the aroma test. Because there was no aroma it meant they didn’t use enough lemongrass or none at all. BTW, lemongrass is the MAIN ingredient in Bun Bo Hue without it this is no different than an oily bowl of Phở with meat. The soup lacked taste also. I hate to be blunt but it sorta tasted like dishwater… $ 17-$ 18 for two plus hot tea is not cheap. I’m somewhat of a BBH connoisseur and this place ranks 3⁄10. On the bright side the owner and server were cheerful. If you’re curious give them a try but don’t expect much…
