The Tortuga Beach Club is easily the best place to stay in Florida! Sanibel Island is ranked as having some of the best beaches in the world and The Tortuga Beach Club gives you unparalleled beach front access! The units have all of the amenities that you could ever need! We had an amazing view of the beach and beautifully appointed grounds. The office staff is always helpful with recommending a fun one-of-a-kind outing(we took a great sunset cruise) or an unforgettable spot to dine(Island Pizza is a must try). There are even daily activities and crafts for the kids! Poolside lunches and cocktails mean you don’t even need to leave the comfort of your chaise! The full kitchens in each unit allowed us to grill out and have a quality family dinner! This is NOT one of those over-crowded resorts where you’re left fighting for a spot by the pool or run out of the hot tub by unaccompanied minors. This is truly an Island Paradise.

Barebones, no-frills time share. No beach towels are provided. The views of the beach are only from a few of the rooms. Checkin is a 2-hour window from 3pm-5pm, otherwise you’re on your own. Our bedrooms faced the dumpster. The beach is a buggy, narrow strip of sand that isn’t worthy of «Top 10 Beaches in the U.S.» or whatever designation people are claiming. TripAdvisor lists the Tortuga Beach Club as the #1 resort on Sanibel. Reading the reviews it’s clear they were written by the timeshare owners. There’s even a sign up in the office encouraging guests to review on TripAdvisor to «keep us #1». There’s no way Tortuga Beach Club is better than the beautiful Thistle Lodge.

The Tortuga Beach Club is the best resort that we have ever stayed. It is excellent for families and friends. They have a wonderful kids program Sunday thru Thursday and a kids night out program that includes pizza and a movie. Our 10 year old loved it and asked to go back. There is a wonderful relaxing pool and a clubhouse where the kids do some activities as well as a lunch is prepared if you care to sign up for a small fee(well worth it). Each day they have a different lunch to purchase such as hot dogs, cheeseburgers etc. They also have a special treat to purchase after lunch such as ice cream bars or frozen snickers. Then around 2 pm you can purchase frozen cocktails… excellent to cool off on those hot days. But the best part about TBC are the well maintained rooms. Everything you need is provided other than food. We plan on returning every year. Great value for your vacation dollar well spent.

Décor is outdated and the resort is older bur fairly well maintained. Quiet resort, family oriented and right on the beach. Sanibel is a bicycle friendly island and easy to navigate. Restaurants are in general expensive and mediocre. We do not think this property deserves the designation of Gold Crown Resort.

Worth the visit. The activities available are many. Hot tub, pool, shuffle board, relaxing, grills for cooking out, tennis and of course the beach. The condos are roomy and clean. They have a screened in patio so you can sit out there at night and the bugs leave you alone. I am already looking forward to next year!

Don’t even know we’re to start! The rooms are spacious and nice. The resort has three pathways to the beach. It has a wonderful pool, tennis courts, bar area, ping pong table, a lot of chairs to tan, and free wifi. Great place! Love it!

My in-laws have a time share here that we get to use often and it’s a very nice place to stay. Units are very well kept and just recently had many updates done to them, especially the all new kitchens. Parking is abundant, that includes covered and uncovered parking areas. The pool area is very nice as well with a screened in bar area for drinks, and a hot tub off to the side as well. They also have gas grills available for people that would like to eat in, they aren’t the best grills ever but easily get the job done. The resort has 3 «paths» to walk down to the beach which is about a mile and half from the light house. Also the resort office has umbrellas available to rent, a small reading library, and movies available as well. Some things I’m not overly crazy about but they don’t really ruin the experience is that the hot tub is way too hot to enjoy if you are there during the summer months. I could see in the winter time it being refreshing but during the summer months they should turn the temperature down on the water. While the resort does have free wifi, the coverage is not very good. Most of the walking paths are gravel so if you are going barefoot you had better toughen up them feet. Overall staying here is a very enjoyable experience and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a place to stay while on the island.

My family has had a time share at Tortuga for almost 3 years now, and I must say there is no better way to spend easter. The rooms are amazing and all the amenities are almost brand new, as the Tortuga itself is semi new addition to the Sanibel condo scene. Can’t wait to go this year
