I know this place is closed, but I guess I just wanted to share my experience. We went because they advertised a frog-terrarium, which we took to mean as a bunch of frogs. There were, like, four in one tank. But for this place, it was perfect! It is not where you would have wanted to go if you wanted fine dining, or quiet atmosphere. It had great bar food, the potato skins were HUGE and came fully loaded. We went during happy hour, and everything was half off. We got a bunch of appetizers and drinks. Then this fellow came out with an acoustic guitar and an electric keyboard, and started playing these great songs! Everything from Panama Ride by New Rider’s of Purple Sage, to a lot of Grateful Dead. We ended up staying hours later just to listen to him! I did really like this place. Maybe I just have a soft spot since it’s the last place I went to in Sanibel since I got engaged and haven’t been back for a couple years, but I really did like it! Even I, who does NOT like fried anything and detests grease, loved it.

This place might be closed now. Everything was a poorly fried, greasy mess. Worst frog legs I’ve ever had.

We had lunch here on a lazy Sunday in August and the place was empty except for us. The exterior and interior are old and tired, so, not expecting too much, we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the meal. The Shrimp Po’ Boy was excellent and the cole slaw that came with it(a huge portion) was also quite good. The Crispy Grouper Basket provided a large & tasty grouper, plus the aforesaid slaw as well as French fries & corn fritters. A large meal. This physical structure has been in existence for a long time, and it shows. This place has only been open for a month or so under this name, having formerly been Gasparilla’s. The owners, however, also have a restaurant on Summerlin in Fort Myers, so with their experience and quality meals I fully expect them to be successful here.
