This is the best seafood chowder in Maine! Chock full of haddock and not a overly done cream sauce. We each had a chowder for $ 3.59 and I had a fresh picked lobster roll for 10.99. They play 50s music in a dinner type building(new) and the place is immaculate! The service is genuinely enthusiastic, unfortunately no tipping is allowed. Absolute Best Buy in Maine! There should be one in every town!

I live up the road, so I have been there several times. Pros: Every time you walk in your spirits will be lifted a notch by the smiling faces and the warm welcomes of the staff. This has to be the friendliest group in the state. Keep up the good work! Food quality, the Lord family obviously knows thier way around fish. I have yet to have a morsel of food at Lord’s that wasn’t great.(If you want to get the best quality at any fish place, stay away from take out if you can. Fresh from the kitchen is always best) Cons: I have only had one negative experience here, I got a lobster roll for lunch one day, and it was extremely lacking in lobster. It almost looked like most of what was put in the roll fell right out. Hopefully it was an isolated foible in the busy kitchen. And, for the record, the scallops can be prepared broiled rather than breaded and fried if you prefer.

I’ve heard that they have started having meal deals which is why I am giving them a three instead of a two. When I went they were only serving a la carte and that made for a very expensive meal. Unfortunately I prefer my fried foods without condiments and I think most of their food is made with the intention of using salty condiments. I found the chicken tenders, fried shrimp and fried haddock(bites?) to be lacking in seasoning. They either needed something added to the batter or after the fact. The fried pickles were great, but of course pickles come already seasoned. Also the french fries were okay on the seasoning side.

I go to Lord’s because the food is good, the food comes out super fast, the service is impeccable, and it is the cleanest restaurant I have ever been to. I really feel the owner should write a book on service and cleanliness. Watch out Zingerman’s! I also love the containers for the food, the utensils, napkins, and even the to-go ketchup packets. I know that all sounds weird but they sure put in extra thought and spend extra money on those fine details which is why they have won me over. Plus it is a great burger and fries.

I liked my lunch. I wasn’t expecting the scallops to be breaded, they were okay but I was disappointed in that. Everyone else in my party loved their meals. Especially since we walked out of Bonanza Steakhouse down the road(although they have an extensive menu, it’s all blah unless you want steak and potatoes.) My friends wanted Lobster Rolls so we went down the road and had lunch here. Lords was hands down the better choice. There is no table service and it’s a lot like you’ve walked into an in and out with a reader board menu. You can totally buy the shirts that the servers wear. They are quite funny and perfect for gifts.

It is a bit pricey but well worth it in my opinion. I have had the fisherman’s platter a couple times and the portion and quality was great. If you want to go budget get a scallop or clam roll and the smallest fry and you’ll be around 10 bucks. Smallest chowder isn’t bad for a few bucks either.

Impeccably clean, friendly service, interesting menu choices and really good food. Nice outdoor seating area is perfect for kids. This will be our new go-to place for our Maine visits!

$ 41.00 for clam dinner and clam and scalllop dinner and one drink lots of fries and very little seafood. As I left feeling like I got robbed, I see the owner drive off in a porshe SUV…

This restaurant is clean and the help was great they don’t even except tips. I had seafood chowda excellent then I had haddock fresh broccoli with hollindaise sauce. Parmesan wow. A glass of wine $ 3.75 unheard of. It’s worth the drive from expensive restaurants on route 1.

If your looking for quality seafood, this is the place. The shrimp and scallops are very fresh and tasty. Some chowder is better than others. Its very clean inside and they have a great ordering process. The prices are a little high, so if your looking for quantity this isn’t for u.

Don’t know bout the so called chowders they are like soup and flavorless very inconsistant. The new boxes are a rip off for the price 16.99 for 7 scallops and 4 tiny pecies of haddock as you can see from the pic

Ordered fried clam strips and they were pretty good. Onion rings are also great. Food came fast. Would recommend it

Never should have carried name of original in Wells harbor. Food was OK but nothing to compare to its namesake.

The food I ordered was tuna roll and chicken sandwich and it took 45 mins! I went up to the cashier and told her how long I was waiting and she called Manager Chris over, was a waste of space and time this manager is! He told me they cooked to order yet my tuna sandwich was sitting on the tray already made twenty minutes before the chicken sandwich. If you think it’s going to be like the old Wells harbor one then you will be definitely disappointed as we were. Save your money, Don’t go here! The one star is for outside seating. This us a one and done tourist trap!

Pretty sure I got food poisoning from the haddock. I will leave it at that. Save vacation illness a go elsewhere!

Great prices. I have 2 picky kids that were both happy with everything and the other not so picky kid tried clams for the first time. Lots of choices, friendly staff and clean!

Wow. I wasn’t expecting much based on the so-so impression of the former Lord’s location in Wells, but this place knocked it out of the park. Friendly staff, inexpensive seafood and beer that was also delicious. this place is a must-visit if you’re in the York County area.
