I stumbled upon this place on a beautiful day! The outside atmosphere was fantastic and exactly what I was looking for. Got a free football glass with my beer. Saw the owner walking around greeting people. Many seemed to be locals, because everyone was very friendly. They also had an outside grill so I had to order up some food and it was delicious! Killer place! Was very happy with my experience and would definitely go back.

The new owners fake smile and condensating attitude can be felt all over the once loved former captains cove. Stay away. Anyone that has seen him walk around the pool area with his megaphone knows what I mean. Not surprising he is trying to sell it now.

We had fried pickles for an app, and a burger and fries for a meal. The fried pickles were breaded very well, but not so much that you couldn’t taste the pickle. They came out quick and hot. The burger was ordered medium rare and came out closer to rare but was ridiculously big and good. They even took the time to toast the bun. You could tell the patty was not frozen. The toppings were very fresh. The fries that came with the burger were well season and crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. I had a piña colada for my first drink. It was a little small and vanillaish but still good. I had a shocktop after which was fine. The last drink I had was a fish bowl. I don’t remember the name but I know it had Soco and Malibu in it. It tasted like a strong peach ice tea. I couldn’t taste the booze in it but could feel them, it was a very good drink. The owner or manager walked around and checked on everyone, servers were friendly and attentive, and prices were fair. The atmosphere was nice and relaxed. A Wide variety of people– families, mid 20s, etc. The only reason I have it a 4⁄5 is bc the burger was a little under and the piña colada was just ok. I will definitely be back for more and soon though.
