Poor service. Table was not wiped clean, no silverware — had to ask 2 times. Observed the same for diners at the next booth. Much too pricey — veggie dinner plate — 3 small bowls of veggie sides priced at $ 9.99. Pulled pork sandwich definitely not pulled but sliced with much fat, some bones and gristle. Anything but pulled — needed to be deconstructed before eaten. Will not be coming back.

We ordered the following: Fried Chicken Dinner Rib Dinner Shrimp Dinner Everything was amazing from the muffins they bring out ahead of the meal to the main course and sides. Mac and cheese has a special place in my heart(and stomach) and this was the best I have ever had.

3 stars may look like a bad review, but this place is the best soul food I have had in the Orlando and Orange County area. If the food was served hotter, this would be 4 stars. — décor is cozy and neat. — service is friendly and professional. — The Sunday dinner special is $ 12.95 for 2 meats, 3 sides, cornbread, dessert and drink. — my party had smothered pork chops, fried chicken, baked chicken sweet potatoes, greens, yellow rice, and lemon pound cake. The Arnold Palmer lemonade /iced tea was decent. The corn bread muffins were crunchy on outside and soft inside. Everything tasted good, but was served very warm. The food is pre prepared and kept in hot plates cafeteria style; they need to adjust their heat to keep food hot. — we also got chitterlings(why isn’t that spelled chitlins? No one ever pronounces the ER or the G!) my wife enjoyed them, but that is one thing that I refuse to eat. We went to a second time and the food was much hotter on the second trip. We will definitely make this a regular Sunday place to go, and will probably get some catering from them for Thanksgiving!

I tried the braised beef tips, smothered pork-chop, and a piece of fried chicken. It was soooooo good!!! The collard greens and macaroni were great too! My mean included a dessert so I tried the banana bread and omg it was to die for! They had cinnamon in it which I’ve never had in banana bread before. Definitely going back

I usually dont write reviews at all but i just had to take the time today. Food was fabulous! I had the catfish my mother had the whiting and my grandma got the oxtails. We got lunch portions and I was surprised that the portions were kind of large. The food was very very good. It fed my soul. Smack yo mama kind of good food! Alicia was the server and she was really nice and attentive. I honestly cannot wait to go back and try everything on the menu.

Fried chicken was great, crispy, juicy and tasty, what’s not to like. Service was pretty good and so was the corn bread. I’m happy with this place

From the lunch special menu, I chose the fried chicken and when it arrived a few minutes later, it was hot and crispy. Very tasty and a thick batter that didn’t take away from the meaty and moist chicken underneath. For sides, I had the mashed potatoes which came with an interesting brown gravy. I wasn’t impressed with the potatoes, sorry. Same with the corn bread which was too light and dry and completely fell to pieces. The mac & cheese, on the other hand, was top notch with a nice crispy skin of baked cheese on top and the pasta was al dente. Service was quite good, though getting the gal to refresh our half and half tea was slow. And yes, you’ll want to cut the sweetness a lot! Best fried chicken? No. Best fried chicken in Sanford? I think so.

Ooh so a couple friends of ours recommended this place for some reasonably priced, delicious, soul food. It truly was. Being an Alabama girl, I know good soul food. My granny and great granny and mama can THROWDOWN! This place far surpassed my expectations. My husband was slightly miffed about his chicken being like warm but I didn’t mind it. The flavor was delicious – I’m not one of those people who cleans the bone, but I definitely did. Well seasoned but not at all too salty. Keep in mind that we got there at 8:30 so I didn’t want to hassle them to make more for us, everyone was so sweet. I got the chicken plate with yellow rice, cornbread, black eyed peas and yams. My husband got a chicken plate with mashed potatoes, cabbage, cornbread, and yams. The yams were amazing – the perfect mix of cinnamon, vanilla, and nutmeg… cornbread was sweet(but not too sweet!) and buttery. Crust on the outside with a perfectly soft center. The black eyed pease tasted like they came from my granny’s garden. which is a good thing! Fresh and well seasoned. The customer service in EXCELLENT!!! Got a chance to meet the owner, his son, and brother. Good family owned business. I’d be happy to spend my money here time and time again.

Its a soul food place that has some food in metal warming bins at the counter. Collard greens, Mac and cheese, some chicken, Salisbury steak, I think. You know… soul food. I had a BBQ sandwich. I don’t know what to say about it. The fries were good. Some lady in the back complained because I came in the unlocked door four minutes before eleven. One of the customers had these huge earrings that said *DOPE”(unrelated). Never saw that before.
