Super Fly Paragliding

Fortunately I found Super Fly relatively early on in my paragliding career, unfortunately it was after I had already finished my P2 certification elsewhere. I was able to take remedial lessons from Super Fly instructors, and do some over-​the-​water SIV training with Chris S, who is probably the premier maneuvers coach in the country, and get better advice on gear than I had gotten with my original instructors (I had somehow ended up with a harness that was a size too big!). I’m hoping to go on a paragliding trip with them sometime soon to either Valle de Bravo or Slovenia. In short, very professional, very knowledgeable, a tremendous paragliding resource, even though I live several states away.

Little known fact: Utah is a mecca for paragliding and hang gliding. Of all the paragliding schools in Salt Lake City, Super Fly is the best one. Their paragliding school is expertly run by both the founder of the company (and Red Bull pilot) Chris Santacroce. His lead instructor, Shane Denherder is an extremely capable pilot himself, and completely works to accomodate your schedule with lessons.
Super Fly’s lesson package seems to give the most bang for the buck. The price includes 3 high-​altitude tows (I don’t think any other school in SLC has that capability), and $ 400 towards the purchase of brand new equipment. Not to mention, they completely include you as part of their «team».
Another thing, I’ve never felt pressured to buy anything from them. They never push me to purchase a new piece of equipment… just counsel me on the right thing at the right time.
If you are looking for a school with a great value, a team of expert pilots (including one of the most recognized pilots in the world), some of the best brands in the industry, and a total «team» feel, Super Fly is the one.

I have received instruction from a few different paragliding instructors and hangliding instructors in various countries and states in the USA. I can unequivocally without any doubt in my mid say that Chris and Shane at Superfly are hands down the safest, most proficient, knowledgable, professional, courteous and friendly instructors I have ever dealt with.
Paragliding is an exciting but inherently dangerous sport. As a pilot by profession I know that anytime where your feet leave the ground there is a possibility of you getting hurt.
I felt completely at ease under Chris and Shane’s instruction and their conservative approach to risk identification and hazard mitigation in the flying environment is very professional.
