Restore Masters went above and beyond taking care of the water damage in my 77 yr old mother’s home. They took care of everything, including finish work. Mom called me to say«They came and checked their equipment that was suckling the water out of the basement 4 times!» She’s singing so much praise about Restore Masters and how good they were to her, the quality of their work and their more than prompt attention, and sense of urgency to her emergency, are beyond compare. Highly recommended!

Double check your invoice, Restore Masters has no problem accepting payment for work they didn’t do. Our insurance company recommended Restore Masters to fix damage from a flood. Since it was an insurance claim, they gave a bid to our insurance company which was approved and our insurance company paid them for the entire amount minus our deductible of $ 1000, which we were supposed to pay after the work was done to settle the bill – standard insurance practices. When I went through the invoice line by line, I quickly began to realize that there were numerous discrepancies between what they billed for and what was actually done. The total bill was around $ 8000 and nearly $ 3000 of it was either clean up work that we had done before they even showed up, or repair work that they billed for but didn’t ultimately do. Granted, once everything dried out, some things didn’t need to end up being replaced, etc., but they were still happy to accept payment for them. I called Restore Masters because we still owed them the balance in the amount of our deductible and I was told ‘I don’t think you know how this works – your insurance company approved the bid – you have to pay us the whole amount’. After several heated minutes on the phone, they agreed to review it said they ‘could maybe’ credit us for some of the clean up work that we already had finished before they even showed up the first time.’ – i.e. work that we did, that they gladly accepted payment for. They didn’t even deny not doing the work I called into question, they just said that our insurance adjuster approved their bid, and that it didn’t matter if they actually did everything, as long as house was back in working order. I was then sent a revised bill that still didn’t credit us for all the work we did and still had them getting paid for over $ 2000 of work that was never done by us or them. I called the Utah Insurance Fraud hotline and explained the situation and was told that I was correct; that for them to accept payment for work that wasn’t done, even if it didn’t ultimately need to be done, was insurance fraud, plain and simple. It does not matter that the insurance company approved the total amount, they still have to do all the work in order to accept the full payment. As far as the work that we personally had done, that they had been paid for, I was told that was a civil matter. After talking to the insurance fraud hotline, I got the owner on the phone(I think his name is Mike). I told him that I called the fraud hotline and that they confirmed my position on the billing discrepancies. He almost immediately backed down and they sent me a bill showing a zero balance. Though, I’m pretty sure they didn’t bother to refund my insurance company for the all of the additional bogus charges… As far as the work they did. They weren’t the worst, but they weren’t great. It took several weeks longer than quoted to get the job done. One of their guys broke a wall decoration that they said they would reimburse us for and never did. Their tile contractor is horrible. He cut a tile on the backsplash wrong so that we couldn’t re-install the vanity and it took several weeks and several calls to get it fixed, leaving us without a working sink in the meantime. He also either didn’t seal the new floor tiles at all or did a subpar job, because the grout started cracking within a couple weeks. In short, I would never possibly recommend these guys. If you do hire them, go through your invoice line by line before you pay them.
