La Bamba

I live in sandy and grew up in sandy and all i can say is this place is Horrible!!! (Once was a great pizza joint) Everything you order tastes the same, I mean EVERYTHING and tastes like canned grossness. The meat is weird, and beans taste like aluminum dirt. I have gotten stomach aches instantly which sucks (been here 3 times tops since opened to know… never again!). Surprisingly this place is still open which is sad for how bad the food is. Drinks, the ok view within the sunset and the outside deck are good that’s about it just don’t fall in the rotting pieces of wood. Don’t waste your money here. Also the bathrooms are shaddy and kinda gross too. BUT… across the street is two brothers which is family owned and way better food for the buck. They get busy which becomes a bit much for one person waiting on you which is a little bit of a bummer, but hands down the food is soooooo much more worth it. If I could really give la bamba no stars I would!

We went to your restaurant top have a mother’s day dinner. Two of us orderd steak. You could not even cut it with a steak knife, let alone try to eat it because it was so tough. We sent it back and ordered a taco salad and when we paid the bill they insisted wet pay for the steak we could not eat. The waitress was abrupt, rude and insistent that we would pay for the steak. I have never had to pay for a meal I could not easy and had to and back. I will never go there again

DO NOT EAT HERE! Absolute worst service. Didn’t give us napkins or silverware when we were given our food. The manager Carlos blatantly ignored us never asked us how we were (he was also our server) we ordered the carne Assad and the the crab shrimp burrito. Both were so gross I couldn’t even eat my meal til I was full. The service and food is terrible I can’t believe they are even still in business. Save your money and time and go somewhere else. It’s not even cheap food either!

This place could be awesome but it just fails on so many levels. It’s not a clean establishment, the sealing fans are filthy. We had to ask for forks and napkins. After our food was delivered. The food was mediocre. The waitress seemed really lost. She didn’t check in on us but once and she didn’t ask if we wanted to order beverages.

We were going to LA Bamba once or twice a month. The food was always good. The service was OK. The last few times the service was sub par, long waits while staff was chatting ignoring the customers. Food arrived cold. We were planning on going there again but after reading Jesse P’s review and bad experiences we are done.

While picking up my to go order another waiting to cash out customer witness a server tear food off my plate and eat it before wrapping it up to go. Sure enough there was a chunk missing. Called owner and he was more concerned with getting off the phone then handling the problem. Guy did it on camera too. Looks like I will not be going there ever again, shame because it has good food.

I wishi could give it a better rating. Everything about the place could be kicked up a notice, food and décor.
Nice outdoor tables, but for how many months of the year.

The service at this restaurant is so awful, I’ve never had such a terrible experience at a place before. The food and drinks are actually good, which is the only reason my family goes back at all. Yet every time we go back we question why we did. The young girls who work there literally walk around and do nothing. We sat down and waited 15 minutes to even be greeted let alone get a drink or a menu. It sucks when a place has such good food but the service ruins it.

Not impressed, old, kinda dirty inside, waiter didn’t seem to like his job, food was like taco time quality (no offense to taco time) rice was old and crusty, meh.. Dont recommend this place at all

Edible food. Decent prices. Staff is ver’ lax. Dark and dingy place was really upsetting.

Prices are good for the value but if you value your cholesterol, you may want to opt for a big cheeseburger and fries elsewhere. Food was a bit on the greasy side.

Hey we just stopped by after reading all the reviews. We had a great meal, great drinks and great service. No credence to the reviews I have read thus far. Give it a shot people!

NOT impressed whatsoever with the food or service! On more than one occasion we have received slow, inaccurate service from the waitresses. They seemed to be more into talking and goofing around then waiting on customers and getting our food orders correct. I walked up to the counter to pay for our meals after waiting 20 mins for to-​go boxes and our check, I noticed, while standing there that the kitchen is a filthy mess. The vents were covered in dust, the floors were nasty and covered in food and greese. The cook whiped the counter with a rag then wiped a plate with it. So disgusting! Made me sick to my stomach knowing I just ate food made from that kitchen.
I came in tonight for some beans and rice, what they gave me was stall chips with warm salsa and the beans had moldy cheese melted on top with chips on top of that covering up the mold… it about made me throw up in my mouth!
I will never eat here again! Not to mention their margaritas taste like dish water!
Unfortunately before I can post this, I have to give a star. this place doesn’t deserve half a star in my book!

Worst service ever! Took our daughter there for 21^st B-​Day room 15 minutes at which time we told waiter we were ready to order at least drinks when he said ok… then walked over to lean on back of booth and chat with the guest that were already done eating!!! Wtf??? Really??? There was 7 adults and due to such shitty service we decided to take our business else where!!! Never going back to that shit for service nightmare!!!

My favorite salsa over any Mexican restaurant and really good burritos! Friendly and fast service.

Dad and I each ordered a Mirror Pond on tap, both were completely flat. The server checked with her bartender and informed us that it was not flat. Told us we were wrong. Two full glasses of flat beer sat on the end of our table the entire meal. Very rude. I won’t be back.
Decent mexican food for a place in Sandy. Not great by any stretch. Lots of vegetarian options.

The food is pretty good. The chips that came with the salsa were kind of stale. Better then many mexican places I’ve been to in Portland. The building interior is kind of old and not very clean looking. There is a large picture of some mexican lady with a unibrow that kind of creeps me out.

We used to visit here once in a while for lunch, but the service has deteriorated drastically. Once it got to the point where we had to get our own silverware, refill our own water, get more napkins, etc. we quit going.
They used to have very reasonable lunch specials. Be wary of the «specials» listed on the black dry erase board – have paid the price for those.
The bar always seems to be busy, but I think it’s because they have gambling, mainly.

Service was a bit slow. Very nice staff! Food was good and they made me new tamales which were delicious after I ordered banana leaf instead of corn.
