I was a little bit unsure about this place at the start as I was in a touristy area, but it exceeded my expectations fairly quickly. Friendly staff, good beer selection, and some of the best pizza I’ve had on the West Coast.

So, we were having band rehearsal on Friday night. At around 7:30 or 8pm we decided to have a pizza delivered. Zig Zag doesn’t deliver, Ivy Bear doesn’t deliver, call Mogul Mountain. The phone rings, rings, rings, no answer. On Friday night? are you kiddin me? So we put in an order at ivy Bear for a large combo with sausage, pepperoni, olives, mushrooms, and pick it up ourselves. They weren’t my favorite on the mountain, having tried it a couple of times before. And one forgettable dry French dip sandwich for lunch a couple of years ago. This time, WOW! The best pizza I have had in recent memory! Perfect thin crust cooked just right, very good tasting sauce, not bitter. Delicious fennel sausage. All around top notch pizza. There was one drawback though. Although it was a large, it wasn’t really that big, say like a family size. And it cost $ 31. Wait, …WHAT? THIRTYONEDOLLARSFOR A PIZZA?(Shaking head) It was really good though, Ill give them that. 5 stars for the pizza, 3 stars for the price.

Food is awful. Server was friendly and nice, but she couldn’t handle the amount of business this Friday night brought in… get the girl some help! and get better food. Pizza was cold, flavorless and overpriced. Chicken wings undercooked and super fatty. Disappointed. 2 stars because she’s trying and the beer selection is good.

Wow! Blown away. We just had the best customer service! We were on a tight schedule, but budgeted enough time to stop here for lunch. I ordered a sandwich(which was spot on), and my guy ordered a personal pizza, and asked for no bacon. Through an innocent mistake, the pizza hit the table with bacon on it. My guy doesn’t eat pork, but he was tempted to scarf it down anyway! It looked and smelled just great. We brought up the issue with our server, Taylor, and she was AWESOME. Super apologetic, and did everything in her power to make the situation right. Normally we would have been fine waiting for them to cook off a second pizza, but we had to hit the road. Taylor and Justin(in the kitchen) fired off an order of hot wings on the fly so that my boyfriend had something to eat in the car, not wanting him to leave hungry(… we snagged plenty of napkins!) We super appreciated this kind gesture, and we will absolutely come back.

The pizza was fantastic and the service was first class! What more could you ask for? Even the atmosphere was great. We will be returning the next time we are headed down the mountain!

The only good thing about the ivy bear is that it’s 5 minutes from my house, the pizza is terrible and overpriced. I have bought my last pizza there and would not recommend it to anyone else.

You can’t go wrong here. Fantastic pizza, friendly staff. The pepperoni is better than anyone else near the mountain.

Great food & great people! The best pizza near Mt Hood without a doubt! The owner was very friendly & excited to tell us more about his operations. Helpful, kind & smiling waitress was a pleasure to be around & the clean comfortable environment encouraged us to stick around for a beer. Of which they have quite the selection! Cant wait to head back in here! Thanks guys!

This typical tourist pizza aka overpriced«awe f^€% it they’ll eat it» kind of make believe it’s good and don’t say anything. A real flop of a restaurant that has a back patio good for hanging out and getting a buzz on a couple decent bottled specialty beers

Best pizza I’ve had in years. Closest to a real New York style pizza. Having been born and raise in Buffalo. This pizza truly reminds me of home. I don’t even mind the drive to go get it !

Have passed this place for 20 years. Heard good things about the new owners, the remodel and the pizza. The pizza is really good the beer selection is great and the inside of the place is really nice. My wife described it as very cute. I’d give this place a try you will not be sorry. We took our pizza to go because we have a home in the area but would love to just sit and enjoy the nice atmosphere sometime. Also, check out the old pictures inside the logo on the bear on the growlers. I guess one of the owners relatives created it. VERYCREATIVE. Make a Sweatshirt and I’ll buy it.

If you go to Mt. Hood you need to eat at the Ivy Bear. This place combines the great history of Mt. Hood and really good pizza. The inside is like a mini Mt. Hood museum with enough cool photos and trinkets to look at while your pizzas coming up. The outside has a few picnic tables & a fish pond. Plus there is an awesome woodworking shop next door that has to be seen to be believed. Next time you go to Mt. Hood go to the Ivy Bear.

This is a review by a vegetarian It’s clean, comfortable, and convenient if you’re returning to Portland/Vancouver from the Mt Hood area. The pizza is thin dense dough cooked on screens. No haute cuisine but it’ll take away the hunger. There is also beer and wine. If you can wait till you’re back in an area with more options then wait. Otherwise this’ll do for a stop on the way home.

Super nice staff, for sure. Stopped by for lunch after mountain biking at Sandy Ridge. The counter service was friendly, frosty beer mugs were a fun surprise, and the pizza was solid(good taste, good value).

What can you say about pizza? Some of us find it an easy and convenient snack and aren’t really particular about it. Others, like me, set out on a quest many years ago in search of pizza divinity. For those who, like me, quest for the perfect pizza, The Ivy Bear is where that quest can end. Everything, from the phone etiquette to the service to the ambiance to the pizza and everything of which it is comprised, is nothing less than perfect. Because I am infinitely picky about some things, I would have to say that the choice to serve Pepsi products instead of Coke was an error — but in corporate-speak, we call that an ‘area of opportunity.‘ Without going into all of the usual overused, lush adjectives, suffice it to say that, at The Ivy Bear, they all apply. The best advice I can give, based upon my experience today is, go forth and enjoy all The Ivy Bear has to offer. No regrets — Thanks, Loren!

I was glad to see another option on the mountain for pizza. We have been here a couple of times for take out. It has always been a quick wait. The pizza is pretty good and the wings aren’t too bad, either. I can see make them one of our pizza places, mainly for convenience, as our favorite pizza ever, is served at Amalfi’s in Portland and I am not always down for the drive. I don’t think they will disappoint. One of the reason’s we haven’t sat down to eat in there was after we learned how they serve drinks, no refills but buy a pitcher. I just don’t feel that committed to everyone drinking the same thing, so no biggie, I just live up the road ten minutes. if you are on the mountain, it is worth a stop.
