Ace Heritage Hardware

This is a place that has a little bit of everything. Sometimes they have what we need and it is usually some oddball thing, so that makes them stand out. The staff have always tried to make sure they have done everything they can to find an item before they tell you to drive the other 25 minutes to Home Depot.
The prices can be steep on some things but it depends on the price difference and the time to drive to Gresham to locate it, since we live 15 minutes from here in the other direction. Fastenal, when they were in Sandy would send people here for things they didn’t have, which was often.
They carry everything from sleds to pool supplies. They can also get really busy but the lines seem to move pretty quick.

Whoever picks out what to put on the shelves here is a genius. I moved to Sandy a few years ago and, having developed the big box home improvement store habit, I drove 15 miles past Ace Hardware to Lowe’s and Home Depot to buy what I thought my hometown store wouldn’t have. One day I was in a hurry and took a shot at seeing if the Sandy hardware store had what I wanted. They did. Then I looked around at the other stuff they had and slapped myself for making all those wasted trips into town. But even more than what they stock, the folks who work there honestly care about serving you. At Home Depot, you first have to find some help, then when you do, they point in the direction you need to go and say «go there.» At the Sandy hardware store, they’ll gladly walk you there if you want them to. I love this store, and I love the people who work there. My dog also loves it; he heads for the treats they have stashed under the counter as soon as we walk through the door!

Friendly helpful and knowledgeable staff. If they don’t know, they will find out. If they don’t have it, they will get it.
They keep the city of Sandy running!

I made a trip out to Sandy today because I needed several household items and I knew that Ace Hardware would have them. Chimneys for some oil lamps, a couple of spacer things for my spinning wheel flyer/​bobbin, insulation foam, and some replacement bulbs for our motion detector lights. A very knowledgeable young woman named CeCe helped me, and she was terrific; she was very friendly and knew right where everything was that I needed.
I love this store! Why in the world would anyone ever go to a big box store when everything you need is right here? Always! And I love supporting a small town business, too.
Way to go, Ace Hardware! And way to go, CeCe!

Cleanest store ever and the staff is always SOOO knowledgeable and friendly… even when I ask some pretty lame questions! :-)

I’ve always found people who are willing to help me here. And, they’re easy to get to if you’re driving through town.
