Selection of beers was lack luster, it smelled like stale beer, but worst of all they charge for samples. I will not go back.

When you ask for recommendations, you get very knowledgeable answers, not a simple, this one is good. Very friendly atmosphere. This is a favorite spot of ours.

Scoutmob gets you your jug for free! The staff lets you sample for a fair price, educates you, suggests what you might be tasting… then you get to take home a Growler filled with your choice of beer. Great concept!

Great selection of local beer! The salesman knew tons of fun facts about all of the beer. Dog friendly!

The growler tour continues. This might be the smallest growler store I’ve been in around Atlanta. They really don’t sell anything other than growlers. Then again, I’ve never really wanted to buy anything other than a growler at a growler store so this works for me. Because they are outside of Atlanta, you can get samples here. However, they do not give them away with a purchase like other stores. You have to buy them for $ 1, or 3 for $ 2.50. This sort of rubs me the wrong way, and can quickly run up a purchase from what would otherwise be a pretty cheap way to buy beer. It is better than not being able to sample at all and getting burned on a bad purchase. The owner, who usually works out of the Marietta location and orders the kegs for this store and the others really knows his stuff. I like drinking unusual niche style beers and while they don’t carry many here it’s always nice to meet a fellow enthusiast. Moondog has 30 taps here. They do a good job of dividing up the taps to represent all of the major styles. Like many growler stores around town, they showcase many local brewers. Local brewers are not as heavily represented as you might find at other growler shops, but the effort is appreciated and the taps are always rotating. Overall, I like this store but I wish they wouldn’t charge for samples if you are buying a growler anyway.

Great spot on Roswell Road. Very helpful and informative in making a decision. Recommend trying 3 samples for $ 2.50. Finally a wonderful way close to home to get beer without having to buy several beers at Taco Mac.

New beer spot! I stopped in this location to pick up a hostess gift(who doesn’t love beer??) after seeing the scoutmob deal for a free growler(savings of 4.99, beer not included in deal). This location is kind of perfect, in the LA fitness shopping center, near Canton Cooks II — making it the perfect stop when picking up dinner to go! The owner is super nice and very knowledgeable about his beer selections! He has several other locations(Marietta and Dunwoody) and informed me that this location has only been open for 3 weeks. He offers a nice tap selection, and has flights and samplers of individual beers($ 1 a beer sample) available so you can try before you commit to buy. This store has growlers and 32 oz containers(glass, reusable, interchangeable at no fee — you can trade containers in for diff sizes and back any time). They also have plastic 32oz size containers(single use, maybe one additional use) for $ 1(in case you forget your growler, or if you need a plastic — not glass — container option for bringing your purchase to the park… hehe) Love beer? Visit this store! (PS they have Abita root beer on tap! Same brand as the Farm Burger one I’ve been recently obsessed with)
