They close at 11 but clearly no one wants to take my order at 10:25. I’ve been hung up on twice.

We were looking for a new pizza to try. We have ordered pizza from Atena 5 times since. Next to driving downtown for a pizza from Antico, this is the best pizza in the Atlanta area and definitely the best in Sandy Springs.

Terrible. I ordered food for delivery, and it took an hour and a half. It arrived cold and missing part of my order. The pizza was cold and congealed, and the bread on the chicken parm sub was hard as a rock. I was supposed to get chips and a drink with my sub, instead I got cold, soggy fries(no chips). Someone called back to ask if I still wanted my wings, and when I told her the food I had received was bad, she did not even apologize. I will NEVER order from them again.

I went on Unilocal to find a place that delivered. I’m in Atlanta ga for work. I have ordered pizza and wings from a couple do different places. I tried this one. I’m glad I did. The wings are delicious. Plump juicy and the biggest ones I have had in this town. The calzone was perfect. Made to order and just how I like it. Even the left overs were great. I was going to take a star away for the delivery time. However after experiencing traffic first hand I can not fault them for the time delay it took to bring me my wonderful food!

I ordered the Italian Sub. It was more like a calzone with the raw vegetables cooked inside. Cooked lettuce nasty. I ate half just because I just paid $ 25 including tip for a sub and wings. The wings were old and dry. They looked like leftovers from yesterday or the day before. The best part of my meal was the Lays chips and orange soda. VERYDISAPPOINTING!!! I will never order from here again. For me, getting something as simple as wings and a sub is a treat. I work hard for my money. DON’T ORDERFROMHERE. Save your money for something edible.

Customer: Why does your sign say«Fine Dining»? Waiter: We can dream, cant we? Dining at Atena is very exclusive, primarily because there is only one table. Atena is obviously in the take out business, the«dining» room had the one table and a big screen which was playing a soccer game at full volume. Luckily the table was available when we went for lunch, even without a reservation! We decided on Atena after purchasing a Groupon getting $ 20 worth of food for $ 10. We ordered a house salad and spinach pizza. The salad was forgettable. the pizza was okay. For $ 10 it was a good deal, if we would have paid $ 20, not so much. No beer or wine served here. Maybe next time. I can dream, cant I?

With all the pizza places in Atlanta to choose from I do not think we will give this place another shot. The wings are soggy, and the sauce is not very good. The calzone was burnt and lacked flavor. Overall we were really disappointed.

Atena’s biggest draw is the price… they often have $ 5 pizza deals, and their pizza is definitely worth $ 5. I won’t pay much more then that, though, because it’s pretty bland. The crust does have a good texture, crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. They also don’t use as much cheese as they used to. It’s a good place to stop by when you want something cheap.

I haven’t been too impressed with the food to begin with, but it’s priced reasonably, and it’s nearby. Their wings are the only thing I order now, their pizza is pretty bland/lacklustre.But I ordered their tiramisu earlier today… That’s what I got. I’m not ordering from here anymore.

Decided to give them a go again. HORRIBLE!!! My pizza barely had cheese on it! HORRIBLE!!! Second chance wasted on this pizza. How can the quality be so poor this time. How in the heck did they not see there wasn’t hardly any cheese on this pizza. I DONOTRECOMMENDTHISPLACE!!!

What a waste! I’ve had several experiences with this location and I’ve tried to give them the benefit of the doubt several times. however a recent revelation leads me to write this review. I’ve ordered from them several times, usually at night and I am ALWAYS called by a lost driver who can barely speak English because the GPS won’t work??. I try to be understanding with these matters because everybody has to make a dollar, however when your job is to find the location of your destination it may benefit you to have somebody who speaks the language to communicate with your customers? On at least one occasion I’ve had to meet this gentleman at a public place just so I could pick up by pizza so it wouldn’t be cold by the time he finally found his way to my apartment. That being said I decided to give them another try today but to my revelation I am apparently on the block list for this establishment. I asked a gentleman taking my order what that was about and he said to me that he just wouldn’t deliver to my neighborhood anymore! Upon further investigating, I was told that there has been to many quote«misunderstandings» regarding previous orders. Now I don’t understand how a customer is in the wrong because your staff can barely speak English language? My job is to order the food and pay for it, your job is to make it correctly and to get it to me in a timely manner. Oh by the way they also lie to their customers. I was told to buy one gentleman that their manager had just gone out of town… yet when I was prompted to a supervisor he told me to call back tomorrow to speak to the same gentleman? Get your story straight guys!

I decided to take a gamble on this place, with few positive reviews lately I was a bit worried, but I’m glad I did it. I’m embarrassed to say I’ve been meaning to since Stacey P. posted her review! They even left menus once around my apartment complex and I did nothing. Horrible. Especially with Scoutmob. I decided to call in my order(can’t even remember the last time I’ve done that!) and I asked if that was necessary to know at the time, and I thought there was a bit of bad attitude about it. I had to then ask how long it was going to be after the reply was«we’ll take care of that when you pick it up.» The time was only 12 minutes though, and I called just after 6pm. But when I got there, there was definitely no attitude. I decided to order the«Chepperoni» with double pepperoni and cheddar in addition to the mozzarella. I didn’t think there was THAT much pepperoni on there but I really do love cheddar on pizza and need to do that more often. The large sizes of the«gourmet» pizzas are $ 16.99 I believe but you’ll find a deal on their online ordering site where you get a free medium cheese pizza with one(this is also on their menu you can pick up in the store). The pizza was good, definitely a step up from a chain but not comparable to say, Hearth across the street. My pizza was cooked perfectly and the crust was crisp. I really enjoyed the combination of ingredients and it wasn’t too greasy. The sauce is really good too, lots of herbs in there. They are also always advertising with a sign spinner person out on Roswell Road for $ 5 pizzas. This is not clear from looking at their website or even looking at the storefront. There is a sign for a $ 5 pepperoni pizza, and a couple of their coupons involve $ 5 pizzas so I guess you are supposed to call and ask what the deal is. I think the pepperoni one was a medium, and then a coupon on the menu is for a large cheese. And if you decide to go the create a pizza route you have a ton to choose from, and there are no dumb upcharges for picking things like steak or chicken. In fact, if you create your own pizza the first topping is free. So if pepperoni and cheddar intrigues you, I’d just go with getting a pizza with those two toppings: it’ll cost you $ 13.88 for a large. Armed with all these coupons, I will be back. This is another case where I’m glad Scoutmob exists because I needed that little push to finally try this place out and I’m glad I did.

Ordered delivery. Took an hour to get here. Ordered a small pizza and a can of Diet Coke. Pizza tasted like it was a cheap personal frozen pizza from the grocery store. Cheese was grainy and sauce was not good. I was quite disappointed. The other reviews for this place have mostly been favorable about the food so not sure where I went wrong.

Saw all the great reviews, thought I would give them a shot as I try to avoid chain pizza when possible. Unfortunately I did not share a similar experience. 1. Was told would be there in 30 minutes(I am 5 min from the place) It took 55 min 2. Driver went to wrong address, kept telling me he was outside 3. Pizza barely over room temperature prob due too taking forever for delivery 4. Toppings were pretty skimpy For the price not worth it! Could have ordered Papa Johns 2 Larges and a hot and on time delivery for less money. One word Ippolitios TONS better OR even a chain for the price. At least I didn’t get raw pizza lol!

Sadly I have to update this review. Imagine my delight when I see Atenas on GrubHub– my fave pizza, and I don’t even have to find my cell to get it. 1 hour later, I open up my $ 25 after tax and tip and delivery fee pizza– only to see that the crust seems to never have risen. That’s cool, I’m down with thin crust. Until I attempt to pick it up, at which point I realize that on top of flat pizza, I have raw pizza. Cheese is melted, meats are cooked– but the dough is translucent, and seems to be sticking to the box(just a little bit.) Dumb me, I think– there’s no way a restaurant I have patronized on a at-least-twice monthly basis would send me raw pizza– it must just be soggy. Well now I’m sick. Turns out it was raw pizza. Thanks Atena– at least I got to eat pizza and lose weight in 1 go.

Atena rocks! Ordered from my hotel. Delivery promised in 45 minutes, but arrives in less than 30 — piping hot! — and just the way I ordered it. Plus, at $ 14 for a large 3-topping pizza, the price is very hard to beat.

Scoutmob strikes again! Found this place on scoutmob, ironicially its not too far from my job so I thought I try it out. half off and half the distance, works for me! Overall pizza was good, not great. But hey it was $ 7 for a large but I couldnt help but notice the slices were so thin. for me to finish a 8 slice pizza in 30 minutes and still have room for more says enough. I also wanted to sit down and eat my pizza there but noticed there was only one table which was already occupied by a couple. How awkward for me to just plump up right beside them on the one chair left at their table. Um hi, can I sit down? yes, I know you dont know me. Talk about 3rd wheel right haha! Well, since I couldn’t find the courage to be the 3rd wheel on this occasion I took my pizza to-go and ate it in my car in the sweltering July heat. grrr. Other than that service was friendly and pizza came out pretty fast! I ordered the greek pizza and like it I said it was pretty good. No complaints here, would I go back? um if scout mob offered a revisit on this deal :)

We were craving pizza but in no mood to drive very far. Believe it or not, we found this place on Google! After living in Sandy Springs for more than two years, we’d never made our way to Atena Pizza. Mama mia have we been missing out! Atena Pizza is tucked in a small shopping plaza next to the Lowe’s on Roswell Road. It’s hard to find, with more popular restaurants such as Chick Fil A and Flying Biscuit taking precedence in the same parking lot. But drive back just a bit further and y’all will discover some of the best pizza in Sandy Springs. On a Friday night it was only 15 minutes from the time we called in to pick up our hot, fresh pizza pie. We also added in an appetizer of garlic bread for good measure. While the hubby and I love Napoli Pizzeria — just a stone’s throw across Hammond Drive — Atena Pizza has the better crust. We ate the entire platter of garlic bread while sitting in traffic on Roswell Road. The marinara sauce with just the right amount of fresh herbs and cracked black pepper was perfect for dipping the crispy cheese bread. Our classic pepperoni pizza hit the bulls eye on flavor, cheese-sauce-toppings ratio, and a medium was the perfect amount for two people. At only $ 20 with tip it was a wonderful meal. Throw in a bottle of $ 5 Pinot Noir from Trader Joe’s and Atena Pizza was a spectacular date night. Now that’s amore!

Found this place because of a ScoutMob coupon and I am glad I did. The people here are so genuinely friendly that I had to do a double take to be sure I was still in the Atlanta area. I ordered the Greek pie and was rewarded with a tasty crust that was properly cooked. The toppings were just right, not too much, not too skimpy. My co-workers descended on me and all agreed that it was way better then the generic chain pizzas or Johnnies. My one complaint was that the Feta cheese they use(must be cow since sheep would be much more flavorsome) was not noticeable on the pizza. I could see it but not taste it. Pluses: Local business. Really tasty food and insanely friendly people manning the counter. Minuses: Need more Feta. Show me the Feta! I will go back and have no problem recommending the place.

Just call these guys and order a pizza. As soon as you call, you’ll think someone must be drunk or a little too happy to be as nice to you as they are. The pizza is delicious and affordable, and way freaking better than any slop you can get from Pizza Hut or Domino’s. I have to hit this place up at least once a week, and if you live in Sandy Springs and you don’t, you should be ashamed.
