I decided to check out this place. Its not hard to find, and there was enough parking for me and my Expedition. The cashier was pleasant and explained some of the menu because I wasnt sure what I wanted. I took advantage of the lunch specials, but made the mistake of not wating there while it was hot. I can say for a fact that the ribs were really good. My fiancé ate them, and she is a harder critic than Simon Cowell. The Mac & Cheese was good and reminded me of the Stouffers brand. not saying it was cause I know its made from scratch. The collard greens were good. Overall I was pleased and I will come again, to dine in thia time!

Surprisingly good dinner. I ordered the pulled pork bbq sandwiches, beans and potato salad. The sandwiches were incredibly good and filling. I am someone who loves her food, and ordered two sandwiches for the both of us thinking that one would not fill us up. I was WRONG. My husband, who is from NC, and loves his bbq, was pleasantly happy with the overall product. He was also surprised by the beans. He said that they were a meal within itself. Since this was just a food pick-up, the only thing I can say is that the cashier was very friendly.

Really good brisket, ribs, chile, and pulled pork. Good draft beer selection too. Cool urban rustic vibe. Good service. Eat in or take out.

Why four stars instead of five? I was debating between giving a three or four star review. — The food was good, but just good. Nothing was exceptional or excellent. — The outdoor seating was enjoyable, but I would have appreciated the tables being wiped down prior to our meal. Would I return? Yes. Is it overpriced for the quality? Yes.

Eric the bartender is great!!! Come here when he is here :) However there is a young lady who he is training behind the bar with«shedding long hair» that is not pulled back like the other workers. YUCK! And she handles your bar food !!! Aside from that and I have been here 3x now same thing! the food is good. Girlie TIEUPYOURHAIR !!

We tried this restaurant on a recommendation. We were rather disappointed with the food. We both had the pulled pork platter, portion size was rather small and did not have much flavor although the meat quality was good. The fries, coleslaw and mashed potatoes were good, the cornbread was extremely dry and tasteless. Service was good, the waitress was friendly but the hostess could use some customer service manners.

Nice enough place. Good service. The rib rack was delicious. The sandwiches were just ok, hence the one star is off. I got the brisket sandwich, I thought it was a little dry and the meat chewy. My hubby got the pulled chicken, again just ok. The coleslaw and corn break were pretty good though and my daughter liked the mac & cheese, but that’s not what we went here for!

Great place! Came on a sunny day at around 1:30 Sunday and had their beef brisket sandwich and half rack ribs with house fries. Wow the ribs were awesome! Loved the sauce on the ribs! Not a fan of the Carolina BBQ sauce on the table though, but the yella sauce was pretty good. I’m a fan of their moist towelettes on the table as I’m a messy person.

The only reason I give one star is because 0 stars is not an option. I went to this restaurant Jan 10th and sat at the bar. The whole experience was a disaster. First, the bartender was very uninterested to serve us, then our food came out our brisket was cold, pork ribs clearly re-heated. I understand that it was close to 9 pm but that is not an excuse for cold, re-heated food. I asked the bartender who ask her manager to come talk to us. Manager was disputing the fact that our food was cold, I challenged him to touch a piece of the brisket, he said no. 5 mins later he comes back with an over reheated plate of brisket(looked like beef jerky). I was in shock by the lack of customer service, lack of care and poor quality of food served. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

The food probably deserves 3 – 4 stars, but the service is what dragged their rating down. I’ve eaten at a few Urban BBQ locations and I’ve found their food to be fairly consistently good, especially the brisket, but also the pulled pork, the ribs, the chicken, and the sides. If you get a salad, the Buttermilk Ranch dressing is amazing, very garlicky and perfect for a meaty salad. However, the last time I ordered takeout from this location I did not get any brisket with my Texas Steakhouse Salad, and I had to drive all the way back to pick it up while my food(and my wife) sat at home waiting. They did apologize, but it was somewhat perfunctory. For having to wait much longer than expected to eat, and to drive there and back again, I was expecting more of an apology, but not only did they not seem overly concerned, they did not even offer a side or a dessert. Not that I needed one, but the offer would have been nice, considering I had to spend twice as much on gas for this meal than I had planned thanks to their mistake, plus our dinner was delayed. I might even have more sympathy if they were slammed, but we eat very early, and the takeout side was completely empty and the kitchen was very quiet when we picked up our order. So if you really want to order from there, eat in or check every part of your order thoroughly. I made the mistake of tipping on takeout without checking the order, I won’t make that mistake with them again… if I go back.

This place didn’t wow me at all. We had the redneck fondue which was really expensive for a tiny ramekin of chili with cheese over it and chips. I think a redneck would be insulted. We didn’t like the sweet bbq dusting on the chips either. The two stars really comes from the flat beer that we were served. We ordered the Heavy Seas IPA. Totally flat and gross. They have a decent selection of beers — I hope they’re not all flat. What a waste. Too bad — this place has potential.

Great atmosphere, decent priced drinks…, I tried the 3 meat platter-meats were full of flavor-I didn’t even add any sauce! mac and cheese was good-just a tad dry(and a pretty small portion). Fries were good and they were a good sized portion.

This place is pretty decent, the corn salad is pretty tasty, staff is caring but the quality is not up to what it used to be when it was O’Brians. I still will be going back once in a while.

I have tried to eat their ribs twice now. Both times they where raw. I wanted this place to be good so bad. It’s close to me and I love BBQ. This place falls short on so many things. I think their more worried about the bar flys then and food. The corn bread was days old, and it was consistency of sand with bits of corn in the middle. This is BBQ not gourmet food, ribs are not a hard thing to cook, really I’m sure they smoke them at some point, but then reheat them to order. I was there with three other dinners, and tried some of their food. Not bad was the brisket, the chicken was dry and fairly certain it had been threw the microwave as well. BBQ should be cooked to order not put in the microwave when ordered. The waitress could care less about the state of the food. Dine at your own risk.

very disappointed, the service staff was Amanda and started off on the wrong foot. We ordered a couple of Coors light drafts and told her that the beers was sour and didn’t taste right. She told us the bar tender said its was fine. that should have been our first sign. finally got a good bottle beer and the long wait for our food. The corn bread was dry as a day in the las Vegas dessert. the fries was cooked twice was long as needed and wasn’t even hot the sides was not worth getting meats was great! even if our Servicer didn’t follow up till three quarters done had to keep asking for another beer. over 21++ then the check came and she stated no sperate Checks which should of be stated when taking the order. Service was one star… Food was a two out of five.

In terms of BBQ, this place is quite disappointing. When getting food to go, very little protein was actually given within their dishes. For a BBQ place this already is starting off on the wrong foot. The food was also quite poor in terms of quality. No BBQ sauce was actually given and the flavor of the pulled pork and pulled chicken were mediocre at best. The BBQ beans were sub par as well. The only things worth consuming were the mashed potatoes and gravy and the cornbread. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone caring to experience decent BBQ.

Eh… not bad for BBQ on the east coast. Oversmoked and overcooked. Dry and stringy is different than meaty and tender.

On a baby-free evening, we wanted to try Urban BBQ. I love this location, first off. Also, they have plenty of seating, bar games, and outdoor seating to boot. Food-wise, what can I say but BOOM! Excellent selection of barbecue, ranging from brisket to ribs to pulled pork. The sides were decent but not out-of-the-park. I came another time with my brother and had the smothered corn dogs(I forgot what they were called). Extreme indulgence and gluttony on a place! They cover it with cheese and even some burnt end bits!!!

I like this location. They have some great Happy Hour specials, which are available throughout the restaurant and some even for take out. Can’t beat half price ribs on Tuesdays. I usually get the sliced beef, which is tasty and fairly moist. The mashed potatoes and gravy are delicious and I can also vouch for the mac and cheese. And they have collards! Yup, I“m a «sides» girl!!! Considering all of the genericalishamish restaurant/bars they have in Montgomery, the bar at this location is actually pretty genuine and and a place I could feel somewhat comfortable having a drink, and not like I was lost in suburbia, I can no longer live happily… Super nice, great customer service here, too. The take out area is currently a hot mess. They are doing some sort of remodel, but I think they’ve taken a «pause» to decide what to do with it. One complaint — the takeout area is always freezing in the winter. I usually have a drink at the bar and order my takeout from there. I love that this place is on the NFL«cusp.» Half the patrons love the Skins, and half love the Ravens. My tastes veer north, so I choose purple. Several types of barbeque sauce here but only one is to my liking — the regular sauce, which is actually quite tasty. This is nowhere near as good as a genuine barbeque shack you might find in Georgia the Carolinas or even the part of Virginia that is Old Virginian, not«Northern Virginiamatron.» But, look at where you are. We take what we can get in this very strange federalist town. We love our economy, our stability. But soul, we are a lackin’
