Smelled delicious inside. Stopped by for a cappuccino. I asked for raw sugar, they forgot to put it in, handed me packets after I asked again. Ok. I asked for something to stir, they pointed me to the self serve counter. O. K. Taste was bland. Felt it was greatly overpriced.

Really cute place and an awesome location in Sandy Hook right next to the Foundry. Got a latte and sat on the back porch. Very New England! They do serve bakery treats and snacks, though I haven’t tried them yet. Soon!

Stopped here on my way to a location for work and didn’t realize it was right next to The Foundry, which I also loved(and wrote positive things about in my review for them). Very small café, yet very quaint. The barista was helpful and super friendly when I asked about their gelato. Also, if the weather is nice out and you’re feeling adventurous, you can sit out back or walk around the small park area. The iced Americano I ordered was perfect for the warm weather outside and I was pretty content with it’s boldness. I look forward to coming back.

Lovely local coffee and gelato shop with a view of the river.(Don’t miss this cool back yard) The gelato flavors to me were all too sweet, but, 4 stars for great service and view. Can’t wait to return and try the coffee.

The coffee took a while to get, although there was no one in line ahead of us. While I suppose this was better than being served coffee that had been sitting on a pot for a long time, I found this strange. Good thing that we were not in a hurry. Our scones were not baked very well, but did still help fill us up. A couple of the upsides are the comfortable chairs and the view of the river outside. So, all things considered, this is a pretty good local coffee shop. It is by no means excellent and it is by no means bad.

They know how coffee ought to be made, here. Their espresso is the best around — it’ll spoil you for most other places!

This place is incredible. Friendly & knowledgable staff, excellent customer service and such a welcoming atmosphere. My 8 year old loved the hot chocolate, the gelato selection is very impressive. I can’t wait to eat breakfast here one morning!
Wonderful location with outside tables overlooking stream. Very casual. Great coffee and panini!

We stopped here for lunch on a road trip. We try at all costs to avoid any fast food places but needed something quick to go since we had our dog with us. We agreed to getting something from Subway, and when we went to park saw this place and went in. They have very nice paninis and amazing gelato. The two women working there were so friendly. There is a great green space with a stream behind the building with a park bench. A good spot to stretch your legs, and a perfect half-way point for us. Will definitely remember this place for future trips.

Another coffee break stop for me driving from DC to Quebec. I like this coffee shop, it has a great location, although dogs are not allowed to go inside, it has an outdoor patio at the back. Plus it has a park and a river next door. After having my break, I just walk down to walk my door. I don’t know if dogs have to be on leash, but it was a Saturday morning, and very quiet. My little pooch gets to run around to work off his energy. The coffee was great, and a great Calabria sandwich(Tomato, fresh Mozzarella, Basil, Balsamic Vinaigrette). The cakes and muffin are not bake in house, but the muffin is moist and nice also.

This is the third of fourth iteration of a coffee shop here. It is about the same as the others. WIFI seems spotty.

We are on our way to drop me at grad school in Cambridge. No coffee place stops. We saw a sign that said subway an got off. Was not even open. Turns out we were in Sandy hook. Came across this place, most adorable lil town by the way! The wife had a cap and I had a triple espresso. Great Coffee!

Very friendly staff and beautiful espresso. The ratio of water in the espresso was perfect and there was even crème layer on top which signals a great pour. The setting on their balcony is beautiful and overlooks a lovely water stream. Even vegetarians will be happy here with their food choices. I look forward to coming back.

Ordered a café Americano and The Pisa, a panini sandwich. The abundant staff were all very friendly and they took my order quickly. My beverage arrived with a smile and I sat down, logged onto the wifi and waited. I texted with my daughter asking her if she wanted a bite to eat. Although there were many staff they forgot my order. Seems they need to work out a few kinks in the processes as my panini sandwich just arrived! Ordered the one for my daughter to go and that one arrived 10 minutes ago. The young lady who delivered the second sandwich order apologized and scurried back to make my first order. The prices are reasonable for the area, all under $ 10, as advertised, closer to $ 6 – 7.00 in reality. They have a fine assortment of gelato as well, ought I’ve not tried it… yet. My panini sandwich, when it arrived, was very good made with fresh basil and ample cheese. The flavors of all the ingredients could be tasted, a nice balance. I recommend the Village Perk Café. As in many new businesses, they need to get their processes down and train their staff through the learning curves. Have a little patience and your experience should be delightful. I’ll return and watch the progress. So for friendliness 5 stars, food taste, presentation & value 4 stars and service 3 stars(anticipating improvements and observing other orders).
