My boyfriend and I spent the weekend at the Belfry. We got the romance package for 2 nights which included a couples massage, a three-course dinner for two, and breakfast in the bistro. The innkeeper, Christopher was friendly and accommodating. The staff was also very friendly and attentive. We stayed in the Friday room with a jet tub for two which was incredible. The downfall of the Friday room is that it is directly above the kitchen, which means you hear constant banging for the entire evening. Our dinner for two was superb. We had the filet and chicken fried pork loin and everything was prepared beautifully. The breakfast in the morning was also delicious. We are local and enjoy staying at nearby inns and beds and breakfasts. We will definitely return.

It was an absolutely enjoyable meal, in a beautiful location. Strongly recommend visiting for dinner(can’t speak to the Inn, but have to imagine it’s just as good!). There’s nothing better than these once churches, turned restaurants, it gives the greatest ambiance to the dining experience and I encourage everyone to indulge!

I found The Belfry Inn & Bistro through Unilocal and I have to tell you that I was interested as soon as I saw it. I made the reservations through and it was very easy and not confusing as some sites can be. We arrived on Friday around 4:30pm and were greeted by a lovely young lady who was very professional. As she was checking us in she walk into another and a gentleman came in and asked if I was all set. I said«Yes» that the young lady was helping me. He introduced himself to me as Chris which I assumed was the manager or Owner. from that point in our visit it only got better. They booked us into the Saturday room which i can honestly say was an incredible experience. The room was very clean and tidy. The soaker tub was a nice add to the room. then we were of to a 7:00pm dinner reservation in the Bistro. my wife had the Filet and it was one of the best cuts of meet I have ever tasted(highly recommend). I had the Pork Schnitzel which was very good with the bean and fingerling salad on top. The second night instead going out to a different location for dinner we decided to stay there and sit at the bar for cocktails and apps. I wanted the little necks, but unfortunately I can eat raw seafood. Toby the chef said he could make the little necks steamed opened. And he made the most incredible steamed little necks with a white wine butter sauce that I have ever had. Chris the Bar tender is very good and attentive. We never had an empty glass and he knew how to make a cocktail. The entire staff was very attentive to our needs and I would highly recommend staying here.

We stayed at the Belfry Inne for two nights. Loved the hospitality. The innkeeper was incredibly nice and friendly. We felt like he welcomed us in his own home and took care of us as his personal guests. I absolutely highly recommend this inn for a trip to Cape Cod or Boston.

After a crazy month at work. I needed to pack up the wife and get away. we had really enjoyed the Cape this summer so we snuck away to the Belfry inn for the weekend! Such a beautiful converted church from 1900. this inn has such charm and the grounds are beautiful and relaxing! We dined in the Bistro in the church and it was beautiful! To begin… we had the steak tartare! I hadn’t had that since Paris so I was very excited and my wife had the shrimp cocktail… both very good… my wife ordered a pumpkin risotto that was so delicious and so perfect for this season! There were toasted pumpkin seeds on top and fried sage. yum! I had the seared scallops with pancetta mashed potatoes and roasted brussel sprouts. another winner! I must say the Belfry cured what ailed us! Chris the owner was an extreemly gracious host! He knows his wines and chose some greats for us by the glass! We can’t wait to go back!

We stayed at the Belfry Inn last Wednesday and Thursday. Wednesday evenings the Bistro hosts wine tastings which we learned about and participated in. The Bistro invited a speaker who was extremely knowledgeable about this particular Italian wine vintner who’s wines were featured at the tasting. We tasted 4 different wines with an individually served appetizer to accompany each wine we tasted. It was so good we had to come back for dinner the next evening. We enjoy a cocktail at the bar, that overlooks the dining room, but still has such a cozy feeling to it. The wine selection is great, service is attentive and personable, and the food was outstanding. Great salad selections with intriguing dressings, my filet mignon was very tasty and cooked perfectly, ending with a cappuccino and cognac.(I was to full for dessert) The dining room is a one of a kind architecture that is so relaxing. I recommend you go online to see the pictures. If you have not tried this restaurant you, need to, or just enjoy a drink and appetizer at the bar. We have finally found«the place» on the Cape that we will always return to.

This place is AMAZING. I proposed to my fiancé there. The staff and Christopher could not have been nicer or more accommodating. Beyond how special the place will always be for my family now, the food was divine. Everything we ordered was delicious, fresh and expertly prepared. The seafood risotto was the best risotto I have ever tasted. We stayed in the Saturday Room and it exceeded my expectations(and photos). Thanks again to the Inne!!!

My wife and I stopped in Sandwich on our Honeymoon. We stayed at the Belfry Bed & Breakfast in the Painted Lady House in the Sarah Room. The room is a bit small, but very neat, clean and cozy. We had dinner and breakfast at the restaurant and both meals were delicious. The staff was friendly and courteous. We would stay there again in a heartbeat!

This is my first review. I’m compelled to begin reviewing since I will now be consistently traveling for work and these reviews have assisted me countless to times before. Belfry Inn. Cute concept, cute town. Great for those who antique and love those quaint little beach towns. Unfortunately, my visit has been less than satisfactory. After traveling all morning and then sitting in traffic for hours I arrived at the Belfry Inn ready for a shower and a nap. The pictures on their website show pristine rooms, in reality they are cute but run down. I get it, it’s an old house converted into a B&B but little things like touching up the paint and spraying some febreeze could do wonders. So I arrive and walk in the front door of the Painted Lady. Behind the front door is a table and it’s covered in tiny dead bugs. Hmmm… ok, no big deal. Thres no one around to greet me, finally i figure out that i have to make my way over to the restaurant. Finally I check in and was shown to my room. The driveway is all stones so I had to carry my enormous suitcase across the driveway and then all the way up a flight of tiny stairs. No offer of help or assistance. But, I WAS told not to be loud or cause a ruckus. I assured the woman that I was alone and traveling for business. Very nice. Now, the room. Like I said, more run down than the pictures on the website let on. Stale smell in the air. The bed and sheets appeared to be clean. I check out the bathroom to find moldy grout in the shower, moldy ceiling, ANTS all over the shower/hot tub, and a spider in the shower. The whirlpool bath tub had crud all over the faucet and jets. Did I mention the tiny hairs I found in front of the bath tub? Disgusting. I couldn’t even shower. I was so grossed out by the multitude of «hairs»(I don’t have to point out the obvious what kind of hairs they were). It’s called cleaning, try it some time. If you like a filthy run down b&b with some«antique charm» go for it. How dare they charge as much as hey do when they can’t even put that money towards cleaning or fixing up the place.

Love this place. The Inn is absolutely fantastic. It is a church which has been converted into a small Inn. Very quaint and comfortable. Service is excellent. Breakfast is included with your room and is delicious. We had dinner at the Bistro and it was great! Filet Mignon was very tender and flavorful.

It is a lost but worthwhile luxary to sleep in a room with high ceilings, such as the Belfry offerred. Although the ‘fireplace’ was a gas sham, the rest of the venue was superlative and unique. The breakfast was great. It was a brisk close walk to a lovely boardwalk on the early Spring day to which we arose…

Amazing. My boyfriend and I went here for our third year anniversary. We got one of their packages(the summer fling package) and it was a ridiculous deal… especially if you like fine dining. We stayed in the Pope Room and the two nights we were there we ate like kings. I had the beef carpaccio and grilled mahi mahi with fresh vegetables from the painted lady’s garden, the first night, and the second night a scrumptious hanger steak with yukon gold potatoes, as well as an array of desert samplers to finish it off(cape cod cranberry crème brûlée, chocolate flourless torte, blueberry something or rather, mango ice cream, and a couple other things that I think I forget because I could barely finish the meal!) The innkeeper Chris is the best host and on our arrival we had freshly made chocolate dipped strawberries and champagne waiting for us in our room. We also spent our second day there on Martha’s vineyard, and our tickets were included in the package. This place is architecturally beautifully and perfectly hospitable. I would recommend it a hundred times over. The Abbey is just beautiful in itself. One thing is though– our shower head was VERY low, although peeeerfect for my height!(5’3″) so if you are very tall, maybe another room would have a higher shower head: P

My fiancé and I wanted to spend a nice romantic weekend on the Cape, and we chose the Belfry Inne after seeing all the great reviews. They were wonderful, fitting us in for one night, even though we were going during peak season when the minimum requirement is two. We stayed in the Kristina room, which was in the Painted Lady. It was very quiet and charming, and we enjoyed exploring the small Alice-in-wonderland turret room. I do think next time we are going to try one of the rooms in the Abbey, which we had a lot of fun exploring after our meals. Dinner at the Bistro was absolutely divine(gazpacho, chicken braised with local honey, tomatoes stuffed with eggplant«caviar», and delicious desserts). Breakfast the next morning was also wonderful, french toast with fresh berries. Chris, the owner, was incredibly hospitable, as was the staff. Sandwich is also a delightful little town, and we can’t wait to return!

We honeymooned on the Cape this spring and stayed at the Belfry in the Tuesday Room at the Abbey. We booked on-line so were a little worried about not knowing what we were getting into. We shouldn’t have worried. It was amazing! The bed was incredibly comfy, the hot tub and fireplace were incredibly romantic, and we were pleasantly surprised to have cable tv. The breakfast was divine– we had fresh pesto over eggs with fingerling potatoes, strawberry waffles, and an amazing eggs Benedict. Our last night in town we stopped there for dinner as our splurge(it’s a little pricey) and were delighted with the food and service. We’re already planning to go back next spring!

We hit the Cape Cod area after peak season and our choice of B&Bs was diminished ~ after staying at the Blefry Inne, I am very glad that this was the case! It is an absolutely adorable compound with all the typical amenities of a B&B, with the lovely added touch of a terrific restaurant on property! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will return in the future. The owner is just a gem, very personable! Quite the romantic spot.
