Friendly staff made us feel very welcomed. Prices were very reasonable. They offered flights of wine tasting based upon your preferences. The staff offered no pressure to buy but clearly explained each wine. We will go back. Only wish they offered a discount club after so many purchases. They did have case purchase discount. They had puzzles to put together while tasting the wine.

«Life is too short to drink bad wine,» yep. Don’t come here. After trying 12 wines, I must admit barefoot wine is better! Very disappointed with my visit.

Neat little place we hit on the way back to Cleveland. Very cozy and people working were nice. When you walk in its a little overwhelming but just belly up to the tasting bar and the ladies will sort you out. They do samplers: 6 for 3 bucks. Good deal. You can try sweets or drys. Now, I don’t claim to know anything about wine(take note overnight beer a·fi·ci·o·na·do’s) but I tend do like sweet wines… I guess? They were all OK. The whites I liked better that the blush ones. We also found a 50⁄50 that was pretty good! We also had a coupon for a free cheese plate which was enough for 2 sessions of cramming cheese in my piehole. I dig this place…

Came for a bachelorette party. They were so super sweet. It’s a comfortable and welcoming environment. Would definitely recommend. Huge cheese snack trays too. White cheese is the best.

Different place! This makes winery #52 for us. We were taken aback by all the different wines they sell… from other wineries… that’s different. My husband is a wine maker was pleased with the wine making equipment they offer; especially the prices. Prices, in general, all around were good.

$ 2.50 for generous wine tasting with wines for purchase that are reasonably inexpensive($ 7 – 12). This is the second oldest winery in Ohio dating back to the 1800’s. The servers were very pleasant and knowledgable. The building is quite nice and has portions dating back to the winery’s founding. There is a seating area with couches or tables to enjoy a glass of wine. A must go winery!

Best winery in Ohio. Great prices on samples, employees that know wine and are so educated and helpful. We love this place! A must before/after cedar point! It puts other wineries to shame.

I love this place! I love doing the tastings; they accompany your samples with crackers, which is unfortunate, but I’m just a chubby girl who loves my food, alright? They have excellent staff; I look forward to seeing them with each visit. My favorite is the blackberry wine by Mantey; $ 15 for a bottle, and it’s seasonal, so you have to get it while it’s out. Mantey also has a 50⁄50 wine that’s so delicious. My mom is a big fan of the Niagara.

If I could give half a star this would be 3 ½. My husband and I spent a very pleasant half hour at this winery and came away with a few fairly nice local wines and a few even nicer imported ones. The staff was friendly and fairly knowledgeable but spread a bit thin as they ran from one person to another. This is definitely worth your time if you’re in the area and like wine.

Visited Firelands from Virginia spur of the moment on a trip to Cedar Point. Being from Virginia, I love to taste in different regions and contrast the wines to wines from Virginia and this was my first wine tasting in the state of Ohio. Firelands had a very large and impressive selection of wines that were all pleasing in their own way. Our bartender was very knowledgeable about the geography of their region in Ohio and the island where the majority of Firelands’ grapes come from. I love the fact that you can take a little self-guided tour of the facility as well and view their tank room, bottling area and champagne production area. They also had a very nice selection of Italian imported wines that interested me. My friend and I tasted both the dry tasting list and the sweet list. I loved the emphasis on the native grapes such as Delaware, Niagra and Catawba. Those wines were very nicely done. My favorite wines that I tasted(and bought) were the Cabernet Sauvignon, Riesling, Pinot Grigio, Blackberry Wine, an imported Italian red blend, and their Ice Wine. The Ice Wine, made from Vidal Blanc, was phenominal. At over 20% residual sugar and a pleasantly sweet honey-like flavor, and the labor intensive process that ice wine requires, it definitely merits the $ 30+ per bottle that they charge. Very nice first exposure to Ohio wines!

Such a great time! Went here on our recent trip to PC. Took the little wine ‘tour’ which is just a walk through their production areas with signs and cool displays. Then we hit the tasting area and paid $ 3 for tastings(boyfriend had dry, I had sweet), and had a few extra tastings. We tasted the pink Catawba, fifty-fifty, merlot, dolcetta, blackberry, ice wine, limoncello, raspberry Riesling, and lots more. It was a hazy afternoon. The ladies at the store were pistols, and a treat to chat with and learn from. They were very friendly and sassy and just the kind of people I like! They explain the wines, the grapes, the process, storage, pairings and anything else you’d want to know. Also: free crackers. Nuff said. It’s a beautiful space with an interesting history and a very fun experience! Highly recommended.

Great wine and great staff. I usually have to bring wine from here for family gatherings. I took some to friends and alot of time when I see them, they ask me to bring them some from here.

Firelands was the 5th winery I visited while tasting wines all up and down Western Lake Erie. Firelands seems to be on the right track as far as offering wines that have some type of discernible flavor profile and a little depth to boot. The only area for improvement I’d hope for is a more knowledgeable staff that can tell you more about the wine besides the varietal. Other than that, try the Riesling. It’s delicious.

This winery is beautiful and stocked with delicious wines. The people were very welcoming and found us a space at the bar to taste some wines. They offered a choice of 6 dry or sweet wines to taste for $ 3. We tried the dry selections and were extremely impressed by their wines. The bar was busy and full on this Saturday at 4:45, so the service was a bit dodgy(we started with one person and ended up with another). They weren’t very specific or detailed with their descriptions of the wines(like telling what flavors you should taste, how it’s made, what it’s made with or what it’s good to pair with). All they said was, «This is the wine your tasting,» then poured it and ran off. They give you some complimentary crackers to munch on. Each individual glass tasting was $.50. We loved the Firelands Cabernet and Merlot so we bought a glass and ordered a Caprese salad and a chicken pesto panini with kettle chips and a pickle. We went upstairs with our wine and sat in the lovely little dining area that had live music at the time(two men: guitarist and singer). A waitress brought over our appetizer and it was so refreshing and scrumptious. How can you beat the simplicity of fresh tomato, basil and mozzarella drizzled with olive oil. Yum! Then we got our sandwich and it was divine! I mean they only offer 4 – 5 appetizers and 3 panini dishes to eat at this place and the food was better than some restaurants! The chicken was juicy, the cheese was gooey and the pesto was great. The bread was perfectly toasted and I was one happy little girl. If only I wasn’t flying home the next day I would have gotten some bottles.
