My order was messed up twice. I ordered the shredded beef enchiladas(got ground beef) and a blended house margarita(got it on ice). Plus, we didn’t get any complimentary sopapillas. All I got was a «sorry.» Nothing was taken off of the bill. The man sitting next to us got his order messed up, too.

This is my local go-to for my chile fixes. Great New Mexican food and terrific service. For those that imbibe, margaritas are fabulous. Live music on Friday and Saturday. A must stop on the Turquoise Trail.

Went back with our son recently. He complained to the manager about the food and service. The Albuquerque locations are far superior to this one.

The food here was fine, nothing terrible but nothing to write home about. Service was a little abrupt but they may have been short staffed. We had the Combination Marcus(the adovado was the best part) and the Indian Taco. Both were okay but not amazing.

The food here is absolutely mediocre. The service is adequate. The atmosphere is stale and bright. I would not recommend any one to go here. The food at Taco Bell is more flavourful IMO.

Ordered a chicken tostada it had canned chicken. I can do that at home and it tastes better.

Went here during a business trip with a party of 13 on the recommendation of one of my coworkers. I had the shredded beef enchiladas. So first off I’ll start with the opening chips and salsa… It was not salsa. What we were served was a mix of cut up chili and some type of vinagrate, heavy on the vinegar. Frankly it seemed like no one liked it seeing as no one was using it. Salsa aside the chips were also a let down. They had very little flavor, were crunchy so that was good, but overall was very disappointing. On to the main course. The beef was heavily seasoned, in fact it was over seasoned in my opinion. There were huge lumps in it that were just seasoning and even the pieces of meat were only half meat, the other half was pure seasoning. The beans, though typically not my favorite, were about on par with what I could get from Aldi in a can, very little taste and the texture was mush. The rice was ok but wasn’t anything special. My last issue with the place is with their chili. I had ordered the red and green chili’s to get an idea of both. They were both spicy, but the green was by far better. The red chili was ground so fine that it was a liquid that tasted a lot like Tabasco sauce, and I’m not a fan of Tabasco sauce, point being it tasted like I could buy it off the shelf. Overall I had a fast food chain restaurant feel from it. If my coworker suggests it again, I’m going to respond with a strong NO.

I’ve been to Los Cuates many more times since my review(location, location, location) and wanted to update my review. The thrust of it is still the same, hot-cheesy-and-okay, but I’ve learned a little bit better how to order. It’s best to steer clear of the New Mexican food(surprisingly) and order the other items on the menu. Their steak is not bad, their fajitas are actually pretty good, and the margaritas remain the best draw.

Probably the best chips n queso anywhere in ABQ. the queso is in a deep fried tortilla bowl and filled up with you usually needing to get more chips to finish off the queso, and once done you get to eat the bowl!!! The rest of the food is usually on point too. This location has a Cantina w/live music on fri and sat nights and it is a great place to go and chill with friends or a date.

Love this place! Best food in the area. Food is consistently good, as is the service. Margaritas are very good as well. We eat here at least once a month and have never had a bad meal.

We had a wonderful dinner at Los Cuates! I grew up in this area and try to come back at least once a year. I was pleasantly surprised to see that Los Cuates added espinaca to their menu which is a local favorite! And a must have when I visit New Mexico. Our waiter Kyle was wonderful and went out of his way to make sure we were happy. My husband ordered a green chile cheeseburger and they had just run out of hamburger buns so the manager went out and bought hamburger buns so we could have one! The food was delicious and the espinaca was made perfect! At the end of our meal Kyle brought us complimentary natilla and sopapillas! Yum! This will definitely be a must have when we visit again!

Very tasty, very affordable. My dinner companions and I found ourselves eating the last of the green chile with a fork when there was nothing left to pour it over.

Pros: Good food, decent prices, and on the east side of the mountain so it’s closer to home than Albuquerque. Super-pros: Los Cuates has a unique recipe for their salsa. One of my favorites, nobody else has anything remotely similar. Mehs: The margaritas are nothing to write home about, but they’re not too pricey.

This place catches a lot of the golf crowd coming to and from Paako, I gather. It almost seems a little out of place, being located past San Antonio almost directly across from the school. Even so, the food’s good and they have great lunch specials. Nice little piano bar, too, which you can also eat in. Lots of parking.

Best deal for tasty New Mexican food I found during my visit to New Mexico. For 7.50 got two tasty tamales with beans, tortilla chips and salsa and a sopapilla.

We went here for dinner with family & friends on a Friday evening, there were six of us in our party. The salsa at Los Cuates is very different to nearly every other salsa I have ever had — kind of sweet and smokey — which I like and so I was happy to eat a bunch of chips before our meals arrived. I ordered the carne adovada burrito with Xmas chile. The carne had decent flavor, but it wasn’t that hot/spicy. The chile was okay, but again not that spicy. The tortilla was a lot bigger than the filling and so there were lots of folds of tortilla at either end of the burrito. I am told this is a welcome addition to the restaurants in the East Mountains, as we live in town this isn’t a location we would rush back to as their food wasn’t spicy enough for me.
