I walked into Cristin’s office in the middle of a stressful divorce. Cristin was incredibly empathetic and enduring with me and I felt comfortable with telling her my horrific story. She was not only supportive to me, but to my children as well. She understood that my children were my main priority. Cristin and her staff worked brilliantly on may case, making sure we were properly represented in Court. I would recommend Cristin and her team to anyone getting a divorce or is going through a custody battle. Cristin and Chelsea are intelligent, patient, respectful to your situation, and are sincerely concerned about your well being.

Although things started out well, it became clear that things are not as they first appear
at this law firm. I personally know of at least three lawyers who have quit working there
because of clashes with Cristin. The first one had been working on my case and
dealt with it just fine. After he left, things went downhill rather quickly. Mind you this
is with my ex-​wife not fighting the case at all. She never showed at court, nor fought
any motion brought before the court. Cristin let things slide until they became urgent.
Phone calls and emails were not returned despite multiple promises. Charges for
the most trivial of things, including time spent explaining why things were not communicated
and why things were charged. Twice a motion was filed with the court that couldn’t
have been granted. The second time the judge explained why. When I finally had
to fire Cristin and get another attorney I was told that the judge was correct and Cristin
shouldn’t have tried to do what she did. Of course I was charged for her mistakes, including
the fact that there were additional charges due to the last minute nature of the requests.
This was despite my requests had come over a year before finally appearing in court.
The delays were caused by Cristin and her office.
Bottom line is that her handling of my case bordered on be actionable, but I don’t want
to waste my time in court trying to sue her for undeserved fees.

I hired Cristin’s law firm to handle a divorce for me while being stationed out of state in the military. Prior to hiring, I asked if she was familiar with a military divorce, and was told yes. The initial conversation went well and I gave them a retainer. After doing so It quickly became obvious that this was not the case. She was not familiar with my benefits and when I asked if they had a list of things that would be considered in a military divorce, they had no idea what I was talking about. I spent close to $ 4000.00 and all that happened was she filed the paperwork. There were long periods of no communication, documents were sent to me with other peoples names, the first person handling my case quit, and I was subsequently forgotten about. I was charged for every little thing, even when they had to redo it due to an error. When ever I made contact I felt as if I was an after thought and never a priority. When my retainer balance got below the minimum, I was contacted and told to pay more into the account. When I question the need to do that with them not even having talked to my wife’s representation, the conversation quickly became threatening and very aggressive about me paying more money. It was explained to me that if I didn’t immediately pay the back up the retainer, that I would be dropped as a client. It was after this I told them I no longer wanted them to represent me in my case. They quickly ceased all communications, and I was more or less screened at the front desk when I called about getting my refund for the amount not used in my retainer. I came back from Alaska to California to get my refund and my file, at which point I had been told everything had been shredded. I was able to finally get my file, it had not been shredded, but it still took me 6 months to get my refund, even after repeated attempts and conversations to get it. I come from a very rigid and structure lifestyle, and wanted something very similar in regards to my divorce, and thought I was going it get it, but didn’t. If you are in the MILITARY DON“T GO HERE.

Cristin is a wonderful attorney — compassionate and concerned, with utter integrity. She truly cares about her clients, but even more so about their children. She is extremely professional, both in her demeanor and appearance, which serves her very well in a court environment. It is clear that she is well respected by both court officials and other attorneys, which is about the best endorsement you can get. In court she is very calm and coaches her clients to remain calm also — if you are an emotional hot mess (as I was), she is not afraid to check you and keep you in line — and that is a very good thing! She is also mindful of the expense of court cases and is efficient in her correspondences to help keep costs down, but she is also very responsive when warranted. Her staff are all wonderful too! Highly, highly recommended!!!

I interviewed several attorneys before choosing Cristin’s firm. Looking back now 2 years I am glad I did.
When ever you have to hire an attorney for a divorce its going to be difficult, but I got the impression I had someone who knew the law, and who knew how to come up with practical solutions whenever difficult choices were presented.
Often I asked for advice and sometimes I didn’t take it. She would let me know her opinion (not matter how much I didn’t want to hear bad news at times) and when she thought I was making a mistake but she would listen and even change course if needed.
She was almost always right, and especially during the early days when I didn’t necessarily want to listen (to anyone), she would present her thoughts and would let me know why my suggestion may or may not work.
I did find my self emailing if I didn’t hear anything for some time and felt like there was a few email miscommunications but I do find that in other areas of business so just don’t be afraid to send an email or call if your not sure what is going on. I would usually find that the case was in good hands and any worry I had was misplaced.
The best reason to choose her? She knows what she is doing. She knows the numbers, and she is great when your in person with the opposition.
My outcome was a fair one, I think both sides didn’t necessarily get everything they wanted but that was probably the best outcome for the split family. I think she looked out for me and my kids best interest which I greatly appreciate, and she encouraged me to directly communicate with my ex whenever possible to save $$ even thought that was not always practical

What can I say about the Law Office or Cristin M Lowe? I can tell you that from the moment I walked in the door I was comfortable, and that this was not a stereotypical law firm (like the ones you see on tv). .These were real people and they cared about what I was saying, and what I wanted to get done (Divorce). I worked with Cristin directly, she made herself available whenever I needed (I have a crazy work schedule), and made sure that all of my questions were answered, if not then, in a very timely manner. The whole staff was 5 stars, everyone knew my name and said hello any time I was in the office… Cristin drew up my Divorce paper work and made sure that I got what I wanted on my end (⁵⁰⁄₅₀ custody of my daughter, and made sure I was Not spending a ton every month on Child support)… Even after the case was over Cristin still checked in with me to see how my daughter and I were doing and making sure we didn’t need her assistance with anything else… A little over a year had passed and I never heard from the courts, and I happened to be in the neighborhood of Cristins office, so i stopped in, and she happened to be there, she of course looked it up for me and showed me that I had indeed been divorced for almost 6 months at that time.
Again I cannot say enough good things about the Law office of Cristin M Lowe. They are as good as it gets.

I can’t say enough about the good people at the Law Offices of Cristen Lowe. They are personable, professional, and responsive. Cristen’s been working on a fairly complex divorce for us for a while now. She knows how to write compelling filings and she knows strategy. We are almost to the finish line and I’ll update my review when we get there, but for now we are very pleased with the way Cristen and her office is handling our case.

Two reviews in one — how about that! The first one is about Cristin, then one for the office as a business itself.
Cristin — She loves her job, something I could tell the first time we met or when things got tough and complicated in court. I had a difficult child and divorce case, of which Cristin handled with empathy, acumen, and awesome command of her legal team. In court, she is calm, collected, precise, yet aware of her surroundings. In my case, it might have been that the opposing legal team that was downright horrible at their job, because Cristin stood in stark contrast, showing respect for both parties, the judge, the case, while maintaining her pace. Initially I had thought that she would be expensive (since they’re based in San Ramon), but her rate averages with the Bay Area’s. Total cost-​wise, your mileage may vary of course, but for me, it was worth it, even though I’m stress out monthly about how much I still owe for the entire case.
Law of Office of Cristin M. Lowe — Nestled in a Bishop Ranch building, the law office is small, yet adequate. It’s open and neither feels unwelcoming or warm. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. If there was a downside, it’s the feedback/​communication loop between legal team, staff, and client. Mind you, during my case it was great, but it’s the post-​case service that suffers. Sometimes I’d call to ask a question and would be told that they’d call me back with answers; in my experience, it’s been 65% response rate from the office. The finance/​billing department is also another weak spot of the business, which is really why I deducted a star from this review. I’m on monthly auto-​pay, but have run into times where I was double-​charged, sent «pay now» or «overdue» messages even though I’m supposedly on auto-​debit, and have had no alert communication from finance about interest being tacked-​on to my outstanding account. Legal services naturally cost an arm and a leg, and the finance department should be on the ball in helping clients feel that they’re still in control of their money.

Ms Lowe was a blessing to our family and guided us thru the entire experience.
I tried to do as much as I could but I was worried about doing something wrong and overwhelmed. We contacted Cristin and she took over for me and gave me peace of mind. She even sat with us and explained the entire process. My husband and had so much peace walking into that court room knowing that she was in our corner.

Cristin had been my family law attorney for almost three years. My case was very complicated and involved a problematic spouse. Cristin helped me to navigate my options in my case. Cristin is very knowledgeable in family law. What attracted me to her office was her track record for cases involving parental kidnapping issues. She thought of strategies I could have never come to on my own for other issues in my case.. Overall, I thought she did an expert job! Unfortunately, my case went to trial. Money was an issue after two years of litigation.

Josh Cole, legal assistant, also had assisted with my trial documents, and was a great help. He has answered my many calls over the past two and a half years and made a difficult divorce case easier.

It’s sad that I have to give her a 1 star. But here’s why
Pros: Does know the law and gives great advice.
Cons: Everything evolves around money. Every e-​mail gets charged and even the one’s asking why we haven’t heard from her and shouldn’t we be filing paperwork?
Staff very disorganized and doesn’t respond to email or phone calls.
Not very aggressive in court.
Follow through awful
Obviously too busy to handle her case load
Doesn’t review the work which cost us $ 400 more a month in child support had she taken the time to review and discuss the I&E submitted.
Like I said, she knows her stuff, gives great advice, but I would not recommend her at this time if you are in a high conflict divorce or parental alienation type divorce. For a normal divorce she should be fine. We even asked for a copy of our file back and of course, it’s been months and no one has called us to pick it up. Again, no follow through.

I have been Cristin’s client since 2008 and I have been really happy and satisfied with her work over the years. Cristin is professional and understanding. I was really pleased with her performance in court and she always made me feel comfortable in her office. Her stuff is great and I never have any problems getting in touch with her assistants or even herself! What I like the most however, it is the way Cristin treated my case. She made sure she understood all the details and my requirements (which I can be demanding sometimes). She also kept communication going throughout the case and has answered EVERY single question I ever had. Her experience in the matter and positive attitude resulted in successful outcomes and I am very happy that I have met her. I never thought I’d be doing a review of a lawyer on Unilocal,but i realized the other day that Cristin’s the reason I’m back out and living my life again. She helped me through a messy matter I’d care not to discuss here, but I can say she was my strength through the whole ordeal. I figure the least i can do is let other Unilocalers know about her and how great she is.
I did my attorney shopping and knew I found the right one with Cristin. There wasn’t a sales pitch, only concern for me and my future. I look back and think how different things would have been if i didn’t, it’s a scary thought.
I’ll leave out the gory details, but my case did go to court. It was a much different experience than i was expecting. I felt like a VIP at the court room. Everyone from the clerks to cop guys greeted her as we walked in, «Hi Ms Lowe…» How as your weekend Ms. Lowe.” When the other side came it, it was like they didn’t exist. +1 for Lisa! Once in the court room, I was so proud to have her defending me– she was in her element and knew it. They’d attack, she’d counter, they’d stumble. Repeat two times, and that was it. They settled quickly with an agreement even more favorable than the one we originally went to court over.
My advice to Unilocalers — if you’re shopping for an attorney, at least give Cristin a call, i know it will be worth your time.

Cristin was easy to work with, professional, and very responsive to my calls (which was important due to the distance between my house and her office). But what impressed me most was when we went to Court. The judge actually knew who she was, and based on how he treated her (versus other attorneys), you could tell that she was well respected and liked.
She didn’t waste the judge’s time but she still made all the points she needed to and presented my case well because she was prepared. Other attorneys in the courtroom had to stop talking to the judge and whisper questions to their clients, but Cristin had already gotten all of the facts she needed to from me beforehand.
I recommend her without hesitation.
