Tastes exactly like what I remember from the Midwest. Veggies were fresh and bread was super yummy. Friendly and quick service.

The people there are rude as hell. I’ve been in there at least 10 times and get treated with the same attitude. I went in there this evening and got this sarcastic attitude from the cashier. Last time I’m going there. I’m going there for a service for my money, not me servicing them for my money. They don’t even know how to say thank-you. I always thank the cashier and the person that hands me the sandwiches at the end of the line. They must think they are doing me a favor because they are making a sandwich. A bunch of socially inept people running this place.

I come here for the bread! Unfortunately the last gent to make my sandwich pulled all the bread middles out and replaced it with lettuce while the lady in the fancy chef coat chatted up the 5 other employees rather than helping a customer with a broken hand put two sandwiches in a bag. I saw you all watch me struggle, wouldn’t have been impolite to ask if I needed a hand(no pun intended).

Now, I’m not much of a sandwich person because of the gluten content and I don’t like to carb-o-load. But, if there is ever a place that makes up a good sandwich, then I’m willing to sacrifice some calories for it. I’m not sure if Jimmy Johns is the place for me to sacrifice it and I’ll tell you why. Aside from the creative decorations of the actual restaurant and the delivery services, you can compare this place to subway in one of two ways. Here’s an analogy. Jimmy Johns is to subway, as Chipotle is to Taco Bell. I’ll give you another in case that wasn’t clear, Jimmy johns is to subway, as Round Table is to Dominoes. What makes Jimmy Johns different from Subway? Not much. Specifically: — Barely any meat –Cold, Bread with zero flavor –Tons of cheap, low quality vegetables –Pricey for a sandwich(*Tip: Go to nob hill, more meat, better quality, cheaper price) However, this place is good if you are in the area and need to use the bathroom. I do that frequently here because there is no bathroom in vitality bowls.

Sometimes I feel like a sandwich fiend because I just love the way the combination of bread, veggies, a given protein — if chosen, and cheese can just combine to make something so beautiful and scrumptious. With that being said, I have always heard of Jimmy John’s but never had the opportunity to try their sandwiches until my department ordered catering them for one of our lunch meetings! So please note, this review is strictly for CATERING and not for in-house dining. Overall, I would give the sandwiches themselves 3.5STARS. There was really no real«wow» factor in the sandwich I tasted. While it was good and can contend that sometimes simple is better and can be downright amazing when done on point, I can’t really say I’m in love with Jimmy John’s sandwiches despite the apparent quality and freshness of their ingredients, I finished my meal seeking that extra oomph! The presentation and customer service provided was really swell. Our lunches were individually placed in little boxes with other goodies(like a cookie) inside and it really felt almost personalized and nostalgic as if I was a kid again! Not sure if this is done for all catering purposes or if it was because we added cookies to our order, but this was a pretty sweet set-up and also made it easier for everyone to grab a box so we could all sit tight and get ready to start our meeting. Overall — I can see myself or my peers ordering from here again for a department lunch meeting & the sandwiches themselves are not bad, but not my top choice with all the other sandwich options out there. Nonetheless, I will re-update my review upon visiting Jimmy John’s in person.

Pretty solid sandwiches and always taste fresh. The regular sandwich is perfect size to fill you but not too much.

The employees that work here were super sweet to me. They deserve 5 star’s for customer service. The sandwich’s itself where ok — nothing to exciting but satisfying. You only have one option as far as bread. If you have gluten allergies or are on a low carb diet this place may not be the best option. We had a number #8 and #9. I am not sure if they use organic toppings or if there is anything special about the deli meat however everything was fresh and we had an ample amount of toppings on our sand which(please see the picture). The sandwich was simple and satisfying. The establishment is very small however it is nicely decorated and they cater. For about $ 20 I got two sandwiches and drinks. The employees were not stingy with the toppings and very sweet. The menu has different types of sandwiches so you have options. They also have chips, cookies and soda. I believe they had a salad or two. It’s basically like Subway but you don’t have the option of multiple types of breads etc. Better option than fast food if you want a quick deli style sub.

Sometimes simple is good. And Jimmy John’s is simple enough. One kind of bread, cold sandwich only, three sizes. Don’t worry, there are more choices than at In-n-Out, and as far as I know, there is no hidden menu. I walked in, ordered a Big Porker, also bought jalapeño potato chips(Jimmy John’s brand) and medium Coke for just over $ 10. It took me longer to decide which sandwich to get than it took for them to make it. Then I walked across the street to Central Park and enjoyed the World’s Greatest Gourmet Sandwich. Having eaten at Capriotti’s, I can argue with their claim. But the Big Porker was meaty, with fresh lettuce, tomatoes, and cheese, and fresh bread. A satisfying lunch that may be too much for some to finish in one sitting. The San Ramon Jimmy John’s is a small restaurant. Only a few tables indoors, and it looks like there’s more outdoor seating than indoors. Note that it is on the western, outside section of shops, so if you can see Nob Hill Foods, you’re on the wrong side. I still prefer Capriotti’s, and Bonne Sante in Burlingame is still at the top on my list. But I simply like Jimmy John’s, a lot, and I hope to eat there more.

Love their sandwiches. The staff made it very quickly and neatly. And it always tastes good. The store may originate from Washington state. Similar to Subway, but the meats are not as salty and the bread tastes crispier and fresher. They remove the excess bread inside. Sprouts and cheese are a must-add.

I figured I had to try Jimmy Johns as they are the sponsor to one of my favorite Mx teams(RCH Racing). Jimmy’s has become one of my favorites sub places. The food has been great. I have ordered the #7, #10, and #13-all were great. I have ordered at the counter and online and have received great service every time.

Not impressed, Subway sandwich, Subway bread, Subway prices. This location was a Subway now it’s Jimmy Johns. I heard about this chain and one finally opened in San Ramon. The eating area is very claustrophobic, tiny and narrow. Service was excellent with a bunch of employees waiting to help you. Ordered the #5 Vito a standard Italian sandwich see pic.

I’ve never heard of Jimmy Johns prior to this location opening up — but I can tell you it’s my new favorite sub place. I’ll keep it simple, just like their sandwiches. Great for a quick lunch. By the time I was done paying, my Vito with no tomatoes was waiting for me at the pick up counter. Usually I equate time spent on my order with quality, but these guys have definitely proved me wrong. Usually I have to order extra lettuce with my sandwich, but not here. If you want a no-frills, easy place to grab a quick lunch, this is your place. FIVESTARSFORJIMMYJOHNS!

Maybe I’m being harsh giving them a 2 star review. After all, the sandwiches are still the delicious Jimmy Johns sandwiches we’re all familiar with, on that same amazing roll. Maybe I should just be glad they’ve finally arrived in Northern California. But no. That’s not good enough, San Ramon Jimmy Johns. When I’m the only customer in the restaurant that isn’t eating and my single sandwich order is just a #12 Beach Club with no special requests, what possible reason is there that I’m waiting 5 minutes for my order to come up? JJ franchises in other states(or hell… even in SoCal) have my order up and ready to go before the cashier gives me my credit card back during the lunch rush. That’s the bar. 5 minutes at 2:30 in the afternoon in a mostly empty store with 4 people behind the counter… that’s unacceptable. If I wanted to wait a stupid amount of time for a sandwich, I would just go to Ikes in Danville I’m also going to bite my tongue about the super patronizing cashier guy who, after I paid and then immediately asked where my sandwich is, he decided he had to hand-hold me through the Jimmy John’s ordering process and that I had to go to the end of the counter and wait until they called my name. I just expected my sandwich would be ready immediately, as it usually is at every other JJs. Two stars only because the sandwich is still Jimmy Johns delicious. Step up your game, San Ramon franchisee.

We went after the Air and Wind festival. There was no wait and everybody working there seemed a little bummed out. We ordered three sandwiches. All three had an excessive amount of mayonnaise on them. The bread is really fresh and the ingredients are good, but is it better than Subway? I didn’t think so. If I were in the area and wanted lunch, I would get a sandwich from here, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to get it. It was absolutely fine, but certainly not mind blowing.

Great place for lunch. I got a #14 bootlegger(turkey and roast beef). It is delicious and was ready by the time I sat down at a table. This place is very clean and well decorated. There’s funny posters everywhere you look. The only issue I have is the lack of toilet seat covers. The bathroom is very clean but I feel uncomfortable without the covers. Stop by for a delicious sandwich!

I don’t normally write reviews but Jimmy Johns is a really fun place to spend your lunch. The prices aren’t bad at all and the sandwiches definitely have more flavor than other sandwich stores. There are also really funny signs located all over the store, including the many different ways to pee in the restroom. I think it is also a good sign when the workers eat the sandwiches too! I come here everyday now because the clubs are definitely worth the money. I think I have tried everything on the menu by now, but I always have a hard time trying to figure out what I want because everything is so good! The freshness of the vegetables, bread, and meat puts subway to shame. The delivery is also great because there is no minimum order requirement. Sometimes I like to sit in the comfort of my home and order a single pickle. PS. The guys who work Sunday nights are super cute**

I once went to one of these places in another state and was not impressed but this palce is the BOMB. Lighting fast — so fresh– great bread — very freindly and they deliver! Way better than Whole Food sandwiches at half the price.

So I’m a REALLY simple deli sandwich kinda guy. Being from back East, old school delis are where it’s at for me. Jimmy John’s definitely delivers in the food quality sense of things — LOVE the bread and after 5+ visits, the produce has always been fresh — OOOOOGE pet peeve of mine. Another OOOOOGE peeve is service which is where some work needs to be done. First time out I asked for the dressing on the side but they refuse to do this for you — you either get it on the sandwich or don’t get it at all. So if your sandwich has this EATITQUICK or else you’ll get soggy bread which personally kills the meal for me. Some may dig it but I’m not that cat. I will say that the quality of their bread gives you more time between make and munch but still, I’d say 15m tops before things start gettin’ sogged. Next — if doing takeout CHECKYOURSANDWICH before you leave. They have forgotten one or more items on at least one sandwich in 25% of my visits. This isn’t criminal but when you’re hungry and get to your destination only to discover the meal is wrong, it can make for a grumpy moment. To be completely fair, they have fixed this immediately upon being made aware of it BUT have never offered any discount or recompense for their screw-up — something I consider standard customer service fare especially for a new player in a new market. Finally — the staff — nice overall — a couple of folks are bit terse in their demeanor but nothing to get worked up over. The place is usually busy and it appears most of the folks are new so they’re doin’ pretty good. So, if they can get better in terms of more options for the customer and order accuracy, I can see coming back to bump this to 4 or possibly 5 stars. Regardless, they definitely offer a great meal for a killer price — just check their work and you’ll likely be fine. ENJOY TAKEOUTTIP: If getting a drink, consider asking them to NOT pre-fill it for you. I forgot to do this once and ended up with a somewhat watery beverage… yes, they let me refill at no cost…

Never been to a sandwich shop with so many rules. I mean seriously, no pickles, no salt & pepper, one kind of cheese! Maybe Jimmy John has never been to a real deli where you actually have options rather than what the owner feels is best for you. I understand that it is a franchise but as an owner of a restaurant, regardless if you have bought into a franchise, you should do what’s best for the clients and adapt and overcome all of the rules.

Good news is Jimmy John’s is finally in the East Bay. Bad news is their prices are about a dollar and some change higher than other locations that I’ve been to(Arizona and Florida). I have waited 4 years for this chain to reach Northern CA and now it’s here! Do you feel the excitement in the air? I literally drove a few cities over just to eat here because the one in my city is still under construction. Aside from this location the only one I knew of was the one on Post in SF(the first one in the Bay!). I will probably be rolling in Jimmy John happiness when the one in my city opens :) As with all the other locations, the food is consistently great! I’ve always received great customer service from JJ employees and this location met that standard. I ordered my regular(from 4 years ago) which is a number 2EZ mayo. My favorite part is the fresh baked bread and the lettuce! Really weird, I know, but for some reason their lettuce is one of the memorable parts of their fine fare. I’m slightly embarrassed, but at the same time not at all, that I ate the whole thing in just a few minutes. I have missed frequenting this brand and it brings me happy memories from when I was in college. Thank the universe that this replaced Subway. I hope they wipe that entire sad excuse of a sandwich shop chain from the Bay Area. JJ’s may be higher in price but you can definitely taste the difference, which in itself justifies it. Subway is just nasty don’t go there. A few oddities about this specific location. There were 3 – 4 people manning the sandwich assembly line. I’m not sure if they’re still in training or what, but it really only takes 1 person to make a sandwich. Secondly, the female associate at the end of the line kept blankly staring at me. I have no idea why but it made me slightly uncomfortable.
