If you are expecting to go to Dr. Sommers practice who really cares about their patients and staff, you are at the wrong place. I knew something was off when I went and it was all about selling me more tests (I have an excellent insurance) and then even trying to have me go to a Podiatrist (Dr. Marwaha’s wife) for no reason at another clinic. Consumer beware.
1 star because I had no choice and the front desk receptionist are always sweet and helpful at the Lafayette Office.

If I could give him less than one star, I would. I visited Walnut Creek Urgent Medical Care on ¼/​14. The staff was very efficient and friendly. I walked in on a Saturday late morning, was seen quickly and everyone was pleasant to deal with. That said, the follow up was TERRIBLE. Went to pick up the prescription they were going to call in, CVS didn’t have it, CVS checked all their pharmacies and no one had it. I called WCUMC back and they were closed, the recording listed an ‘on call’ number. I called that number and the first person to call back just said the covering doctor doesn’t know you, you’ll have to call WCUMC back.
When I explained the situation (they were closed and this number was the one to call) the operator said she’d have the Dr. on call (Marwaha) call back. I waited the requested 20 min with no return call so called again the operator said she’d try again. After about 1.5 hours with no return call I called for a third time they put me on hold and then patched Dr. Marwaha through who claimed he didn’t know me (which technically he doesn’t, I’m not his patient) and that didn’t know WCUMC. I explained again, that his service’s number was listed as the one to call and he said he knew nothing about that facility and that he is located at a facility in San Ramon. We got no where, and when I asked him to spell his name, he hung up on me (guess he didn’t want me to find him and give him a bad review).
I have since googled him/​WCUMC/​San Ramon and have found a similar Dr. Marwaha listed all places (same pic of him on WCUMC website as on a San Ramon facility website.
So now I am left all weekend without my Rx because WCUMC couldn’t bother to put in my prescription before they left for the day and Dr. Marwaha was unwilling to help and outright lied. If you aren’t willing to help patients, don’t be the on call doctor.
PS just got a txt from CVS that my Rx is ready but it only came in at 5:15pm so not sure if WCUMC was behind on paperwork, after all my calls someone finally faxed it in, or what. That said, Dr. Marwaha still misrepresented himself and… getting an Rx in at 5:15 when I left WCUMC at 12:15 isn’t very prompt service. I upgraded my rating on WCUMC to 2 stars, but Dr. Marwaha is still only 1 star in my book

I have seen Dr Marwaha over the last 2 years. I find it easy to get an appointment. I am able to deal with somewhat complex medical issues. I make sure I go somewhat regularly as I have several medical issues to address. His front office can get busy but the staff is always courteous and professional. It is nice to see that there are still independent physicians out there able to continue to provide personalized care as this is becoming a rare thing these days. Thanks! BTW i never walked into the office without an appointment, but I have called at 9:30 am was seen at a 10:45 appointment on an urgent basis. there were lots of patients but they seemed to get people through efficiently.

One of the worst doctors that i have been to. I work in the health industry and interact with doctors every single day. I would not recommend Dr. Marwaha to anyone. He is more worried about the money than good patient care. I have changed my primary care provider right after couple of interactions with him. Not to forget his billing company sending me the bill instead of claiming it with the insurance.

I went for my first visit this week. Dr. Marwaha was kind, gentle, concerned, asked all the right questions, and I never once felt embarassed about why I was there. He was reassuring and kind. He didn’t try to prescribe medications right away (like other western doctors), he made solid recommendations and overall I felt very attended to.
Because of this my sister is going to switch to him and I recommend that if you have a rude, inconsiderate doctor (like I had before), make the switch!
