Super good food for a super good price. The servings are hearty and enough to last you for days. This place is about as authentic as you’re going to get in NorCal. The serving size is quite generous, and they do have veg/non-veg options! Although the actual restaurant looks a bit run down, I promise that the food is much better than the front puts up. If you’re not into the underdone décor, just get take out and the feel is just the same. Overall, going to be one of my favorites for a while!

Updated review from a couple of years ago: I came to Hyderabad for a quick dinner takeout. Actually it was a partial takeout since the wife texted me that she had some leftover Chicken Biryani from Oakland’s Biryani Kabab(an excellent place BTW!). I noticed some positive changes at Hyderabad this time — they had friendly service and this time were proactive in calling out your name for the food. This place is traditionally no-frills — they get massive phone-in orders/online orders and only a handful of sit-in diners. So in the past, it was expected that you have to inquire about order status during the rush. Their Chicken Tikka Masala is pretty good — nice, somewhat sweet sauce and tender chicken.(4 stars) Palak Panner Is stewed spinach purée with cheese cubes that’s a bit spicier than other places, but still pretty good(4 stars) Butter Naan indeed showed some crispiness from the oven(with the bubbles) which is good.(4 stars). Between my usual Indian takeout at Royal Indian and Hyderabad I think overall both are 4 stars. Hyderabad tends to be less expensive but flavors are more intense and loaded with spices. Royal Indian has a better version of Palak and they have greater variety of breads — including my favorite almond-coconut type(Royal Naan).

One of the worst. Had chicken biriyani and the meat was uncooked and smelly. Beware, all our friends and colleagues had the same issue.

The quality of food has kept deteriorating over time. The Biryani had raw potatoes. It was cold when served. Will probably not go there again

Food was fresh and quick, obviously made to order(as it should be) this is by far the closest thing to real Indian food I’ve had since traveling to India.

Got Ginger chicken, biriyani and lamb chops yesterday(5⁄19) as take out for lunch. Ginger chicken was oily and terrible… just one bite and rest went into trash! Biriyani used to be good… yesterday had 2 pieces of chicken and no good! lamb chops were all burnt! They keep changing people… no consistency!!!

Highly recommend this place. Great food, helpful staff and very reasonable prices. Favorite Dishes — Chicken/Mutton Biryani, Gobi Manchurian, Naan, Chicken/Lamb Seekh Kebabs. Their lunch specials are also relatively cheap, healthy, authentic and tasty.

Food is fresh on Tuesdays. Other days its just average. I usually go with the veg and non-veg thalis. Its pretty cheap and good value food.

Above average taste, matches expectations. There aren’t many South Indian restaurant options in the San Ramon area(closest ones are in Dublin and are purely avoidable). They serve Veg and Non-veg food, which adds to the variety. Their name is a bit misleading. I wouldn’t know that they are a South Indian joint, not just a Biryani spot. And serve alcohol. The décor is simple, nothing fancy. We got a Togo so no idea about the service. Idli and Dosas were fine. Sambhar was excellent and that makes the food worth it. Veg Biryani was also good. Overall, not a bad option if you are craving for some idli dosa vada and more.

This may be my new go-to spot for Indian BBQ Lamb chop = amazing Chicken Tikka = great(and no food coloring) The atmosphere isn’t fine dining, but the food is pretty good. The service is fast and friendly. I think it’s a family run business, and it shows as the workers seem to care.

We have been ordering chicken Biryani almost every week. My kids love the chicken Biryani here. The biryani has great flavor and the portion is big. We sometime get Idli and Vada as well. The quality is awesome. Great staff as well.

I’m gonna give this place a very weak 4 mainly because the food was much better this time and they defintely made improvements in the décor. No longer looks so run down. They redid the walls and painted too. Good. I ordered a to go order of chicken biryani. It was delicious. A good amount of chicken and a too generous portion of rice, so if you’re on a low carb diet and cave in easily like me, this isn’t the right place for you. Comes with a little cup of raita and Dahl. I’d order it again. Big negative again for the non lidded garbage cans at the back of the restaurant. They do sell toppers with the seining door. C’mon owners!

One of the worst samosa, we had. Not at all cooked from inside. Yucky. None of us at home or my friends like it. I am from India and know how Samosa taste like. One advice to the owner. Cook it well and use better filling.

The food here is really sad to taste. What we got was so tangy and don’t you even think you will get anything close to what’s called customer service. Not sure how this place is still open with people coming in. The raita is loaded with sugar guess that’s to cut the tang.

Co-workers introduced this place… YUM 1. Chicken Dum Biryani — good 2. Tandoori chicken is delicious — the best I ever had 3. Lamb(ground lamb dish) — spicy and seasoned… I can eat a whole tub alone with naan 4. Chicken makhini — good 5. Naan — so good It’s very low key place. I will definitely be back.

This is a great place for take-out(lunch & dinner)! The chicken dum biryani is deliciously spicy and tasty, and one order is enough for 2 people(it comes with one boiled egg but you can ask for extra if you like). It also comes with 2 pieces of chicken(maybe 3 if you’re lucky! we sometimes luck-out but not all the time). Eating it with a dollop of yogurt raita helps as it does have a good amount of heat. The masala dosa is one of the best I’ve had… such a great vegetarian dish, the potatoes are filling and seasoned well. This dosa is such a great comfort food… comes with two kinds of dipping sauces(non-spicy) which are both yummy. Minus one star because the service could be better, and they wrap the naan in foil very tightly that it gets soggy quickly(especially when I order it to-go) — I’ve learned to open up the foil before driving home so the heat/condensation aerates. If they put some holes to aerate it, I think it would help.
