I’ve been shopping at United Liquor Store for years, since the times when you could drive onto the sidewalk to park while you dashed in. The owner is exceptionally nice, as is the rest of the staff. They have a decent wine selection that is well priced. Prices on liquor are good (I just buy vodka and scotch) and they have a good assortment of other beverages and snacks. I’m very loyal to businesses in which I’m treated well, and I’ve always had positive experiences there.

My change has been off by a dollar on more than one occassion.

When you ask to have a lottery ticket scanned — and the clerk offers you a dollar for it after scanning it — then doesn’t tear it up as he puts it into the trash — you leave with a bad taste in your mouth about what was really going on. You start wondering if it was a minor or major winner. Then you google lottery scams and find out that many clerks play this game with ticket holders and lots of lottery ticket sellers have higher than average «winnings»…
… and then you decide not to return to this store in the future. I’m a trusting guy, but even if this wasn’t a winner — why play games with customers?
Too bad; this store was close to my residence, but I will go elsewhere in the future.

The owner and employees are very friendly. The soda machine needs replacing, but with all the drinks they have in the fridges, that more than makes up for a broken soda fountain.

Very friendly employees and owner. I stop by every morning to grab the Marin Ij & San Francisco Chronicle for my restaurant. Sometimes they even have it at the counter ready for me when I walk in.

United Liquor’s aisles is full of wines. one must careful not to knock any over. small collection of mid-​range ‘gars near the registar.
all the beers were priced. microbrew selction better than average. maintstream beers all represented. big botttle beers anemic.

–chocolate essence, heavy brew, easy buzz. 4.5 stars
