Lisa Elkins-Reuter – State Farm Insurance Agent

Pretty much the worst insurance place I’ve ever delt with. They keep sending my statement to my old address. They never call to let me know about my past due bill. They called me almost 3 weeks after my bill wasn’t charged. They only call you to get you signed up for more polices. Someone there started a policy without me knowing till I got the bill. They never call you back or when they do call back they don’t know why they are calling you. Don’t spend your money here. Go to another State Farm because after this billing cycle I’m done with Lisa’s Elkins. Every month I had an issue with them. I was on auto pay but I had to call them every month to make the payment because the people there don’t know what’s going on. I’ve gotten 3 different bills for the same policy. And they keep sending my wife bills even though she didn’t open up the policy. Pretty much there customer service is horrible. No customer service at all!

I called in Lisa and her team are amazing. Not knowing anything about State Farm bank. Her team set me on the right track. They were friendly and kind not one complaint. The customer service was superb I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for insurance or another form of banking.

Gosh, had I taken the OLD Unilocal reviews into consideration, I may not had the great fortune of knowing Lisa Elkins. My experience, thus far, has been extraordinary.
While looking online for local insurance carriers one evening, Lisa Elkins’ agency popped up. After reviewing her offerings, I shot her an email hoping to schedule time to discuss auto and renter’s insurance. I immediately received a personal email from Lisa and an invitation to meet that week.
My very first impression of Lisa was that she’s highly personable, knowledgeable, and professional. I learned that Lisa was a State Farm trainer prior to opening her own agency and has been with State Farm for many, many years. Of course, after coming from the impersonal world of Liberty Mutual’s «agent mill/​cubicle factory», Lisa’s supportive and educational ways were especially welcome!
After our meeting, I left Lisa’s office feeling both connected and well-​equipped: The value, offerings, and affordability of State Farm auto and renter’s policies have very much given me peace-​of-​mind. And as a side, it was wonderful to connect with another mom who understands «mom» values, challenges, and conditions.
Lisa also sold me life insurance — something I knew little about but wasn’t sure how to approach. Lisa explained everything clearly. She walked me through many different scenarios and options and I was able to chose a direction that made sense to me. With my good health and desirable age, I was fortunate enough to be locked in at a really low rate: More peace-​of-​mind and security for my family.
One of State Farm’s many added value benefits is a free annual financial review. As a recession refugee who lost all of her investments and half of her earning potential, I lost sight of my financial future some time ago: I had no hope that I could ever again regain my security.
As part of the review, Lisa motivated me to seriously consider and formalize my long– and short-​term financial goals. She really helped me put things into perspective; providing recommendations, and advice. Lisa restored my hope by extinguishing my fears about retirement. Lisa’s personal touch was so uplifting that I feel like I’m on the right track again!
I haven’t experienced minor errors that haven’t been corrected instantly. In fact, one day, Lisa’s team helped me out of a jam by faxing a copy of my insurance card within minutes — I was blown away as it would never have happened had I stuck with my old carrier. All-​in-​all, I do expect humans to make mistakes and choose to consider the overall long-​term value I’m receiving from my relationship with State Farm and Lisa’s agency.
If you’re looking for perfection, an online automated system might be a better option for you.
For me, I’ll take Lisa and her warmth, knowledge, encouragement, support and humanness any day.

Worst experience ever. Quoted one rate and billed another. Found better insurance elsewhere. Cancellation was a nightmare. Don’t expect Lisa to call you back, employee turnover high. Avoid.

I have been working with Lisa’s agency about a year, mostly with Della R, and have nothing but high praise for the help they have given me with my business insurance. They answered all my questions easily, and found me very competitive rates which allowed me to stay in business. They call me right back and handle all my issues with ease, are very knowledgable and helpful. I also feel lucky to be working with all women, in a typically male dominated business!

Hey I just had to update my review! How many insurance agents have client appreciation events? I just got an invitation to Lisa’s Annual BBQ and Movie in the Park on October 5^th! Lisa and her great team do this event every year just to thank clients — these events are tons of fun!

Lisa is all anyone could ask for in an insurance agent and more! She is professional, knowledgeable, articulate, patient, responsive, and friendly. Lisa has always taken the time to explain my policies thoroughly and helps me determine where I may need more, less, or new insurance coverage. She is not a pushy insurance saleswoman at all! She knows her business and I can tell she genuinely wants to make sure her clients are protected by the insurance she helps them obtain.
I recently found out that Lisa helped me retain a personal articles policy that I wasn’t even aware that I was at risk of losing. She is so good that I was never bothered with a phone call or email, it was just taken care of without a worry from me. This goes to show that having a relationship with a real live insurance agent, especially someone like Lisa, and not just going to a website or calling an 800-​number really pays off!
I can’t forget to mention her team. All the people Lisa has hired are friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and follow through on every request, big or small!
If you are looking for an insurance agent, than you can stop shopping because you just found the best one.

I have been with Lisa Elkins Reuter and her branch for many many years now. My entire family has pretty much our entire lives in their hands. They offer us amazing service, quick responses, and make everything so easy for me. I love being able to speak to a live person when I call and have them accommodate all of our whims. I have a delicate family situation in which I am the primary decision maker as opposed to other members of my family and they constantly assist me with handling the delicate balance between family and our personal needs. This is as easy as it gets here!

I have worked with and known Lisa for YEARS and I can honestly say that she is as good as it gets! Her staff is well trained, friendly and caring of my home and my business. Lisa is amazing when it comes to helping educate me on my TRUE insurance needs and helping me get the most coverage for the best rates possible.

I just recently became a client of Lisa’s. I carry all my insurnace with this agency and they are very helpful and knowledgable. What stood out the most with this agency is that I recenetly put a Permant Life Policy in place for my niece and with the combination of great service and their care for my personal situation was outstanding. They took the time and asked me questions and helped to me understand what I was getting.
They make it very easy and they fit your budget with what you need. In my conversation I found out they also had a bank (who woulda thought?). I would highly recommend this agency.

I thought it was hilarious that the first and only time I heard from this woman was a response to my Unilocal review! WOW, the power of social media. Good news, I found a new place to move my home insurance, especially after seeing the new bill for this year. Oh my, State Farm, no wonder insured and staff keep leaving.

Terrible service, they just try to sell products like life insurance, annuities and credit cards, but when you need service, you have to call 2 – 3 times before they’ll return your call. The staff turnover is super high and every time I call someone new answers the phone who can’t get our name straight. It’s hard to cancel the policies or even get a call back. Go to someone else!

Absolutely the worst service: They try to sell many products that you don’t need, and making changes to existing policies was nearly impossible. When I wanted to cancel my life insurance, because I accepted employment that offered a better option I was actually told (in August) that the policies had to be paid in advance and I would not be able to cancel until February! I continued to request a cancellation, and eventually had to call my bank to stop payments on the automatic withdrawals I had authorized. It was finally cancelled due to non-​payment in November. All the while I had to deal with the cycle of the sales pitch, followed by inaccurate policy information and finally the guilt trip. A staff member in this office actually stated that if I cared about my daughter more, I would not cancel the policy! I will never go back to ANY State Farm office because of this terrible experience.
The office advertises as «knowing how women think.» When I made it clear that I was shopping for insurance elsewhere I received an email with the subject line «mutual respect,» and a message in part stating «I thought we had a connection…» Respect?! When I could not make simple changes to the policies I had paid for, and all this from an insurance agent?

I have been a client of Lisa Elkins-​Reuter for the past five years and I would definately refer this agent to anyone looking for excellent service and competitive pricing.

By all means, AVOID this State Farm agency. I had been with them for a year and had no problems with them up until this summer. I went on a vacation and came back, everything was a nightmare! I had comprehensive while I suspended my policy for the 1.5 month period I’m out of town. I returned and they put comprehensive on my policy, which was not what I had agreed to. Nobody bothered to tell me that my policy had been changed from my previous one. Then, I told the assistant that was helping me, Catherine (AVOID IF POSSIBLE), and she said that the money will be adjusted and a POSSIBLE refund may come in the mail. POSSIBLE!!! She made the mistake and I’m paying for it!!! What the hell! Then, after I paid for my bi-​annual rate, I decided that I won’t be driving anymore so I wanted to cancel my policy. I called and cancelled it. HOWEVER, instead of a refund check, I received a continue the policy bill. I called and Catherine told me that we had agreed to keep my car on comprehensive even though I’m not using it, which I had NEVER agreed to! We never talked about it and she just put my car on comprehensive. I told her that I wanted my refund and NOT comprehensive and her tone immediately changed! Up to now, it’s been 2 months, and I’m still dealing with this mess! Their representatives are obviously incapable, so avoid all this mess to save yourself from all this headache. Learn from my nightmare and run from this agency! I will never return to this agency, and will never be a State Farm customer EVER AGAIN.
