It’s hard to find a good, old school donut shop nowadays but l lucked out and found Golden Cream. It’s real simple, they sell donuts… no fluff, nothing fancy… just good donuts. They have the biggest variety that I’ve seen in a long time… colorful donuts with sprinkles and coconut, maple bars, old-​fashions, and everything in between. A dozen donuts cost me $ 10 and I was in and out in minutes. The customer service is excellent… a young Asian man helped me the first time and he was incredibly nice and so great to talk to. I went yesterday and a young hispanic lady helped me and she too was incredibly nice. Both of them were so pleasant and had smiles on their faces the whole time. It is really great to start the day off right with a great donut and smiles. Looking for donuts??? Make this your donut destination!

The Golden Cream Donut Shop has decent donuts at a reasonable price. My husband and I bought three donuts and left only spending about 3 dollars which is unheard of in Marin. The donut I chose was the apple fritter which was crispy and sweet. I would have preferred it to be a little more airy, but all in all it was good. My husband chose a plain glazed donut and a chocolate glazed. He felt his was an old fashioned style donut, a little on the heavy side but the flavor was there.

I would have to agree with my fellow Unilocalers that this is by far the best donut shop in Marin County. The donuts are freshly made everyday, you get fresh crème or strawberry filled donuts when you order.
They have quite a selection of donuts to choose from. Their dining area is quite large, so plenty of room to sit and enjoy your coffee and donuts.
The only drawback is there is no designated parking for the shop, you have to park on the street in front (metered) or across the street. Those spots tend to fill up fast, there is a pay to park lot just a block away from the shop.
This place does get busy in the mornings but seems to be quiet on late Sundays before 12 pm.

Best croissants ever! They’re huge!!! Great customer service and quick! Delicious coffee and great prices… Oh, and an awesome donut election that also includes churros! It is CASH ONLY though, so something to consider. They also have ice cream. It’s a great downtown find, waaay better than Starbucks down the street!

My favorite donut place, no contest. Everything is fresh every day, it’s more than reasonably priced and the family that owns and runs it is amazing. They represent why «mom-​and-​pop» places are so special. When I crave a donut, this is where I go.

I used to come here back when I was a kid and I’ve been waiting for a day that I wake up early enough to go before work and I went a week ago (except they already sold out of glazed donuts :/​) I went with an apple fritter, blueberry cake and raised crumb donut. Super delicious just like I remember, the fritter was great.

Nice peeps, got there right before closing. The kid in the mom and son operation, gave us donut on gratis, probably since they would dump it anyways, so I was a bit apprehensive… but Damn it was good. Good donut flavor without being too sweet. Digging further into the bag, our half dozen donut holes turned out to be 10 or 12. More brownie points.
Their base dough/​batter has something aromatic in it… I couldn’t quite put my finger on it… banana, vanilla, nutmeg??? It really differentiated it from all the other donut places I’ve been. Good stuff.

It’s a pretty decent donut shop with a good range of donuts and other similar pastries. My go-​to is the ‘chocolate cake-​donut’ with nuts sprinkled on top of the chocolate frosting.
Their long pastry stick (for lack of a better word, not to mention the lack of pastry knowledge) with fruit (apple, and pineapple to name a few) filling are flaky and makes for a good post lunch dessert.
Their crumbs donut is the coffee cake version of a donut. Lord knows how many sugar cane fields were mowed down per donut as it packs quite the sugar flying kick!
They also have breakfast croissant sandwiches with ham cheese and eggs.
The folks there are friendlier than average!

So, I woke up one morning at about 3 AM and the only thing on my mind was donuts, woke up again at 4 thinking… donuts, 5, 6, and 7 AM, you guessed it: donuts. After many hours of craving donuts and an entire evening before of craving a donut, the place that finally satiated my hunger had to fulfill the expectation, and Golden Cream did just that and MORE!
The donuts were fresh balanced (not overly greasy and the sweetness didn’t make ill) and may have taught me what it is that a donut is supposed to taste like.
Yep, I’ll go back for sure, I really liked this place. Super friendly staff helped too!

I am a fan. This unassuming little donut shop makes amazing donuts. I ducked in here when I had a few minutes to kill. How bad could it be, I said and to my surprise it was Awesome. The donuts are fluffy and light and only cost .85 cents. A cup of freshly ground coffee is $ 1.45. the Golden Cream Donut Shop is overshadowed by more popular establishments. The donut holes are 3 for $ 1. Croissants are under $ 2. The prices are phenomenal. The restrooms are always broken and it’s not the cleanest establishment. Take a risk, try a donut. They serve ice cream and breakfast sandwiches under $ 3. ~cash only~
