Amazing and delicious food! Great and friendly service. We ordered: Over hard eggs with black beans, plantains, and hand made Guatemalan tortillas. The Mar and Tierra– shrimp, chicken, steak, avocado, rice, beans, and hand made tortillas. The kids pancake and fruit. We’ll definitely come back soon!

Went in took forever to get my order in !!! They where soooo rude !!! Had to remind them to get our drinks waiting over a hour for food !!! People that came in after where served before us !!! Horrible customer service all the waiters stand around and talk to each other instead of doing their job ended up walking right out the door before we got our food

I don’t typically like this type of food but it was absolutely fantastic! Everyone at my table were really going out of our comfort zone to eat here and everyone was very pleased! Wonderful dining experience and very polite staff! Definitely will be coming back here again!

I came here for lunch with my husband who is from Guatemala because we wanted some good Guatemalan food. We both loved it. The service was good and we ordered a bunch more food to take home for dinner too.

The worst restaurant I have ever been in. Came in with my family 3 adults 2 kids. We waited for out food for about 1 hour and a half and saw everyone that came after us been served and enjoying their food. After a couple of minutes more the waiter came and and said they had not putting our order and that it had been a mistake. My kids and family were hungry and manager never apologize nor approached our table to give an apology. We had to walk out and they were about to charge us for the 3 cups of coffee and 2 horchartas. But they decided not to. Not a good place to visit due to the owners nor waiters having human sense and respect nor professionalism. Not saying humans cannot make mistakes, just saying they should have common sense. I would never visit this place not unless I would like to get diabetes nor die of hunger. I would not recommend this place at all.

One of my favorite restaurants! The food is so good and authentic as if they’re only cooking for you. Breakfast or dinner you can’t go wrong. The fried chicken is a must try.

The food was DELICIOUS! My family of 7 ate outdoors and had a great experience. We ordered the Garnachas as appetizers and were so delicious and small enough to just get a little something in the stomach while the main plates came. Also tried the Rellenitos de frijoles tasted like I was in Guatemala. Our server Alberto was so attentive and we a great experience. I live in San Francisco, definitely will come back again!

I’m Guatemalan so I can definitely tell if it’s authentic. Which it is :) a little over priced but I still go because everything Is delicious! They have a tv that they have soccer playing on. It’s almost always busy in there but always a nice vibe, all the workers are very nice and attentive. :) try the garnachas for appetizer and carne asada plate :) the horchata is also really good

We spent 8 days in California recently. This was far and away the best food we had on our trip. I had the pollo asada while my wife had the carne asada. Large portions of great tasting food. We had an appetizer although I don’t remember what it was. It was excellent. Along with the homemade tortillas. This is a Guatemalan restaurant and you didn’t receive salsa and chips. But that didn’t matter it was great…

The BESTGUATEMALANRESTAURANT I HAVEEVERTRIEDINMYLIFE. The service is amazing, the atmosphere is very home like, if your family is from guatemala or your just there for the food, you will feel right at home. The prices are very reasonable and the meat, beans, soup everything is very FRESHANDWELLMADE/PREPARED. I recommend the GARNACHAS, THECARNEASADA, and the soup of GALLINAINDIA. OURNEWFAVORITERESTAURANT. 5STARS!!! The best restaurant i have ever reviewd here on Unilocal.

This place is amazing! Authentic Guatemalan!!! The quantity goes over the price. This place does not worry about food cost as their portions are very generous. A plate that would go for 35 $ at some other places, you’ll find it here for less than 20 $

Delicious homemade food. Love coming in for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They’re friendly, the place is spotless, and there’s soccer on the television(and upbeat Peruvian music). A total win.

After a year and half since my last sojourn, I was persuaded to try the revamped«El Lucerito» by my friend. And I have to admit that there has been a marked change(for the better) since then. The kitchen seems to have been better ventilated with the dining area being less stuffy than I last remembered it(though it still is, a wee bit). My Camarones Rancheros had a generous portion of plumpy juicy shrimps(probably a 30 count) cooked in a tomatoey sauce with slivered onions and bell peppers. There was a huge serving of herbed rice in the center and a good sized serving of a simple salad with shredded lettuce and slices of tomatoes topped with chunks of lime. It also came with a half-cup of black beans and a smaller side of salsa. Finally, there was a basket of freshly cooked house-made soft and pillowy Guatemalan tortillas. The shrimp was done just right and the accompanying sauce with it’s acidity from the tomatoes and the sweetness and heat from the onions and peppers complimented it very well. The Guatemalan herb rice was delicious and had a great texture; I’d take it over Spanish/Mexican rice any day. The black beans appeared similar to, but tasted different from, and better than the usual ones you get at the taquerias. I just wished they served bigger portions of the salsa but in hindsight I’m sure I could have just asked for more. It was fantastic with the fresh hot soft tortillas! I enjoyed tearing out morsels of the warm soft tortillas and dip them in the salsa as I quickly devoured them. I had to stop myself after the second one as I wanted to stop myself from overindulging, which I am prone to do. The portion size and the quality of the dish more than justified the $ 14.95 price tag. This was from the«dinner menu» and the dishes on the«lunch menu» side were at least a couple of dollars(or more) cheaper. I was told the Carne Asada was delicious, and at $ 12.95 had a sizeable amount of meat. I’m now pretty sure I’ll be visiting more often.

Celebramos el cumpleaños de mi abuelito en este restaurante. Nuestra familia es de Guatemala y nos encanto todo. Llegamos y no habia mucha gente. Despues que tomaron la orden, se llenaron todas las mesas. Aunque estaban bien ocupados, siempre estaban atentos a nosotros. Que rica comida. Recomendamos este lugar para la mara chapina!
