very helpful with basic needs for my daughter’s theatre shoes.

A great resource in Marin. Small, but good boutique. Dance shoes for latin, ballet, ballroom, jazz, and tango! Dance wear for children and adults. Go here before you drag yourself in SF and deal with parking. FYI Open 7days/week and they will do special orders and ship to you :)

Folks, you may think that D’lynnes is the only dance shop in town. Try Marin Dancewear at 5420 Nave Dr, Novato, CA94949 near the main gate entrance to Hamilton. They are warm, friendly and helpful! Not at all condescending or rude. Nuf said.

As a dance professional, D’lynne’s has the best selection of pro shoes in Marin. Jean works with me to provide my feet with the finest in ballroom shoes. Special orders and good stock. Along with costuming and accessories too. Love this local treasure of a shop and the staff is helpful and courteous. We love Jean.

Well… I’ve had to go back to D’Lynne’s due to procrastinating in getting some gear, and I’m glad I did. I’ve been helped by two very nice sales people, and even the owner was pleasant the last time I went in. Just goes to show, we all have bad days now and then.

I visited the shop last weekend to get some needed items for my daughter’s theater camp. I had specific things in mind, and was thrilled that they had everything I needed. The sales associate was super: very helpful, knowledgeable, kind and professional. And, on top of getting the camp necessities my daughter also found a couple of great leotards for gymnastics. I highly recommend this store and hope others will also support such a great local resource.

This is a nice local place for dance wear, dance shoes of all sorts, mass produced type of costumes for purchase, better quality costumes for rent & a small case in back with theatrical makeup. I’m usually visiting around Halloween time and the gentleman that usually helps me, I believe his name is Misha, always provides excellent service and he’s a wealth of information. If they don’t have something that you’re looking for in the industry, he will guide you in the right direction. That is great customer service! I highly recommend this place and I will continue to patronize D’lynne’s.

I’ve been shopping and renting from Jean(aka«the lady») for over 10 years. Yes, it gets hectic around Halloween, but try to find a more knowledgeable source for your makeup and costumes. Jean knows the dance shoe business inside-out. Her prices are competitive. I think that if you make this your first stop — D’lynne’s will be your last stop.

I took my daughter to D’Lynne’s because she needed some dance shorts and a new leotard. We had gone to a couple other dance stores looking for shorts and leotards, but none of them had what my daughter was looking for. D’Lynne’s had the shorts, and a HUGE selection of leotards. If you think there is nothing new to be done with a leotard, you are incorrect. D’Lynnes has leotards from basic black with long sleeves to hot pink with fancy, crisscross straps in the back. The woman working there was very nice and helpful. My daughter is very happy with her new leotard. We will definitely go to D’Lynne’s first, next time!

D’lynne is one of the sweetest ladies ever! After looking everywhere, I found a princess costume for a teenager to wear at my daughter’s bday party. Fit perfectly. Was a little expensive but worth it. Bought my daughter a leotard and skirt too.

While I haven’t had a lot of experience here, the customer service was sketchy — not very helpful and met by an attitude that said I was bothering her — to the low quality of leg warmers I purchased for $ 25.00. I had my daughter try them on before we left and while the lady assured me it was the right fit in order to keep them up — my daughter complained after the first day of wearing them for being uncomfortably tight. Then the quality — worn once, hand-washed and the threading came unraveled. I am heading to the Dance Shop next.

I have walked past this cute shop for some time, thinking I don’t have any need to look in a dance store. I was, however, drawn in by the beautiful dance shoes in the window. I walked in and was greeted pleasantly, and was then given great customer service. After trying on several shoes(not quite the right look) I left with the most amazing pair of Capri dance pants. I love them! If you work out, dance, do yoga, or simply like to wear beautiful dance/workout clothes, this is the place to shop!!! I will definitely be back!

When I mention D’lynnes, most people associate the store with«D’lynne» herself, but I don’t think that the woman who works the store is actually D’lynne. Small, petite, and donning a pair of spectacles she so often peers over, she knows exactly what she has to offer you in stock, and can tell what will fit your figure with just a quick glance. Very helpful if you are not entirely sure of your size or how leotards and clothing should fit. She has a massive collection of leotards and dancewear in various sizes and colors, and if you can’t find what you’d like, I’m sure she could order it for you. Also a good selection of warm-up gear, skirts, tights, tiaras, dresses, and other fun little things. While I primarily go there for ballet clothing, she also has a moderate collection of costumes, wigs, shoes, hats, makeup, and theatre stuff. None of the stuff is of a very high quality(as most mass-produced costumes are these days), but it would do just fine for small theatre groups and other occasions where you need a costume. Her prices are average(for dancewear) and compete well with ‘The Dance Shop” down the street in downtown San Rafael. Let her know where you dance, as she sometimes gives 20% discounts to certain schools, like College of Marin. However, for the dancer on a budget, one would save money ordering from a dance catalogue if they know their size and what they need. I would not recommend this place for shoes, however. When I got my first ballet slippers there, I wasn’t given a choice in brands, styles, or material, but instead given a pink pair SoDancas in canvas which didn’t last me very long and were not of a good quality. For shoes, I now go to The Dance Shop just down the street.
