After my old remote control broke, the agent spent quite a long time trying to upsell me a new DVR. When I resisted, she suddenly found that I was eligible for the replacement unit for free. I was assured that there would be no change in my monthly fees. Now there is a new charge on my bill that nobody is authorized to adjust or remove for a service that I cannot possibly use. I know Comcast and AT&T Uverse aren’t much better, but they both have wires to my house and will get my business at the next opportunity.

Despicable, slimey and corrupt business practices. Expect to pay a premium to be locked into a contract and endure horrific policies. Want to know what it must feel like to be a cow in a slaughter house — DIRECTV.
