I have never really used Unilocal before but I had to for this place. I found Azteca Market when I was waiting for a friend who goes to the crossfit gym in the harbor center. I walked in curious to see what I would find, when I walked in I was immediately greeted by the cashier with a smile and a hello. I was walking around and walked to the meat counter to see a man chopping up fresh meat. He spent about 10 minutes talking to me and come to find out he was the owner and had given me a couple of his«secrets» to homemade enchilada sauces that I have been wanting to try! He even offered to make a small sample that I could take home and try out. And one young man who was an employee offered to help me find the ingredients i would need for the sauces we had talked about. Talk about great customer service! I grabbed a few of the ingredients I needed for my sauces and was pleased at the total they came up to.(you won’t have to spend a fortune in this place like those big chain stores) I also enjoyed seeing(what looked to be regulars) customers come in and watching the owner engage and ask about their families and how things were going. Overall, I give this place an A for selection with the various meats, breads and cookies, etc. and an A for their lovely customer service! I wish for them their location was better known. I will definitely being going back to this sweet little market!

Azteca at one time was affiliated with an eatery by the same name in this commercial center. no more. only azteca remains. the other mex place has a new name and new owners?. i came here looking for a snack since a large bowl of phở at phở viet next door wasn’t all that filling. too much water? azteca market is pretty small but it has all the essentials of a mex grocery. didn’t see much of veggies tough. there also wasn’t any taqueria either. eats: marinela cookies, vanilla wafers(1.5) similar to vanilla wafers but coarser, very habit forming. service ok but the owners found it strange to have a non mexican wondering around the store and they didn’t know how to service me. no problem. self service!

Pros: Quaint little market with ethnic food right in downtown. Cons: Probably not your full grocery solution but worth a trip nonetheless. Fun: If you are at Sol and you need to use the restroom – you go to Azteca! They are very nice and accommodate.

This is a secret little Mexican Market in the back of the shopping center. It used to be affiliated with the Azteca #2 Market on 4th Street However, a few years ago, the owners separated the 2 businesses. The of this Azteca Market is really friendly and the selection of meats and authentic ingredients is ample. They also have a restaurant on the other side of the center . On the weekends, they have fresh carnitas that are really good and fairly priced. Many times they will also have freshly steamed tamales for sale at the counter. Unlike the 4th Street location, parking is no problem. Since they are located at the back of the center, most patrons seem to drive in rather than walk in.
