Wow, $ 30+ for a large combination! It was just okay, but for $ 30 is just ridiculous. I should have gone to Costco and gotten 3 combos for the same price. SMH. I won’t be making the same mistake… because I won’t be coming back ever again.

Amici’s is annoying. I spent a lot of time on their website composing my delivery order… which clearly says the minimum is $ 25 but they called me and told me I had to order thirteen dollars more food. Why put in writing that your minimum is $ 25 and then refuse to deliver to a person… Well, there are plenty of better places to order from… including less expensive and larger portions from Red Boy Pizza. I am from Italy and I can say that they are no so great that they can turn customers away for ten dollars.

Lived in NYC for 9 years… I’ll never understand how this type of slice is so hard to replicate, when I can seemingly get it from any $ 1 a slice shop walking the street there. I will say, this is the closest I’ve ever come to a New York slice since moving west. They have great lasagna as well.

Amici’s East Coast Pizzeria in San Rafael is a cozy establishment. We decided to dine in. We were a large group. The food was good. We just waited after being seated a while for the waiter-who was nice-but during the time, no one updated us, no bread was put on the table, we just sat. And then when the waiter did show up, we ordered drinks… and specifically I asked about starters, would they be here soon, so I ordered a bunch of starters, anyway we waited so long for the starters some chicken wings, meat balls, sausage, ravioli, garlic bread, that something was lost in the joy, in fact I looked around the restaurant which was full when we arrived had now become mostly empty, our table was empty i.e. no food, and I no longer felt like I wanted to be there, the starters showed up finally, and the food very shortly thereafter, we left a 20% tip on a bill well over 200 dollars, still while I liked the waiter, and the reason for the inefficiency may be justified, still disappointed.

I’ve ordered from San Rafael Amicis for years, normally pizza and delivery are excellent, not last night. We ordered 2 large pizzas at 5:45 pepperoni with hot sausage and pesto to celebrate a friends birthday. At 6:30 someone called to apologize that they were busy and would be there in 15 minutes. I called back after a half hour elapsed and was told the driver was just leaving. We live ½ mile from the restaurant a block off Miracle Mile. The driver arrived 25 minutes later an hour and 45 minutes after the original order. The driver was nice said he noticed our pizzas had been sitting there for a while and grabbed them for delivery. Both pizzas were not hot and were very very greasy even the pesto pizza. For $ 59 plus tip the 6 of us were very disappointed but too worn out to call back.

Not impressed at all. The service is slow and the food is nothing special. I rather drive a little further to get some pizza at Boca’s. The thing with this place is it’s super inconsistent. I’ve enjoyed maybe 2 pies out of the 10+ I’ve ordered with them while I was in that area for school. Very overpriced and the employees aren’t that friendly. They stand there like they’re bored.

This is a fantastic local business with excellent service. I’ve had them prepare a wide range of pizzas for the local high school theater program, and they not only deliver quality food on time, they really care. We have students who range from«regular diet» to vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free; Amici’s has great options for all of them. They have a vegan pizza(Asante) and they’ll do any of their pizzas on the gluten-free crusts they get from Mariposa. Most recently in early February, we ordered 34 pizzas for over a hundred students. The team here(Peter, Cristiano, Leo, and their crew) are professional, helpful, and supportive. They called me an hour before the order was ready to remind me they were on time; I was running early and they were able to do all 34 pizzas half an hour early. Amici’s is a great operation and a credit to San Rafael.

For a last minute party Amici’s was great, they were fast and are reasonably priced. Only flaw, people complained about how greasy it was. I mean, it is pizza, but people expected something a little less… drippy.

Super disapointed. Ordered pizzza for delivery at 8pm and realized at 9:30 no delivery. Called and was told that they«lost the order» Waited until 10 and stil no pizza, Fed the boys cereal for dinner and then they show up. Boo. You’d think they would have contacted me or something?! Go back to the Eas t Coast!

I’ll keep this short because there really isn’t much to say. We picked up our pizza only to find a small flat head screw in one of the slices. My girlfriend or I could have chipped a tooth or suffered serious gastrointestinal complications had it been injested. We appreciate the large pizza they delivered as compensation, but that does not excuse the fact we found hardware in our food. Never going back there again.

Overpriced pizza of average quality. Alright environment and service. The tables are extremely small; we had three tables together for a party of 5 and with 2 large pizzas, the space was definitely cramped. Our order also took an extraordinarily long time to come out.

$ 8 for ½ cup of gnocchi? Is that a joke? If the small portions weren’t enough to turn me off, the quality of food doesn’t command the high prices they charge. NEVERAGAIN.

I went there three times . The first time I ordered meat balls and it was ok. Unfortunately my stomach didn’t like and I had to pay for it all the night. The second time, I got some lasagna and I didn’t like it, the taste was poor. It must have missed some herbs or other stuffs to be more flavored. More, it had too much tomato sauce on it. My third time was the best, I ordered a margherita pizza which was yummy. Thin crust and very tasty. I also ordered sticky bread and it was awesome, so so good … The soup was also very good. The waitress has been very nice and very helpful. Excellent service . I will definitely come back for the pizza.

Pizza’s a very subjective thing. One person loves this kind, another person hates it. Not to mention there are so many styles: New York, Chicago, Detroit, Venetian, Mexican… So, other than Buddy’s pizza in Detroit which I would argue is the world’s best all around pizza(if you like thick crust), I hesitate to say«the best.» What I will say is «my favorite thin crust» pizza in Marin is Amici’s. I’d call it «old school»(and yes, I’m using a lot of quotes in this review, I don’t know why but it’s late and Unilocal lacks italics), which means it’s thin, strong, a little greasy(as it should be, if you don’t like it, you can STFU and blot it off with your napkin.) It’s thin crust, yet still chewy rather than crackery(unlike two trendy places I could mention, though speaking of trendy, you can get a gluten-free crust here). The sauce is excellent – flavorful, pungent(in a good way), which means that it’s got the nice strong taste you want in a pizza sauce. That said, it’s not overbearing, there’s the right mixture of herbs and spices, so it’s NOT like you’re going to suffer oregano overload. Then there are the toppings – now, I can only speak to the pepperoni, and I do, I say, «Hello Pepperoni, it’s so nice to see you, and eat you, and I hope you enjoy my digestive tract.» I don’t like food that’s too spicy, but the pepperoni has just enough spice, and there’s enough of it, too. The bottom line is if you’re feeling like pizza – you call Amici’s. You get pizza, and it’s really good. You can eat there, which is nice(and there’s a garage around the corner); you can pick it up, which is fast; or you can have them deliver it to your door, which is cozy. Anyway you get it – it’s the place to go when you’re «feeling like pizza.» I’m hungry.

I’ve grown up going to this place. The servers have always been friendly and the pizza is incredible. Always. The indoor area is spacious, but with windows on only one side it can feel a bit cavelike. If you’re lucky, grab the tables at the front in the windows… comfortable, private, well-lit and scenic. My current fixation(actually, I’ve been ordering it for years) is their chocolate cake. It’s the best dessert I’ve ever gotten from a pizza place. Highly recommended.
