I had a dying tree removed by Doug today as part of a combo deal one of his guys did in trade for a motorcycle. I couldn’t be happier with the results. Doug and crew arrived and jumped into action. The tree was down in a half hour (a 50′ liquid amber) and the branches were chipped and limbs bucked and loaded into the truck, and a big Gravenstein stump was whacked to the ground and gotten rid of as well. They cleaned up the mess as though I was paying cash instead of the deal being between Doug and his worker, who was going to work off the debt to Doug for the trade value of the work to me. It was really a win/​win trade, and I am totally satisfied with the job.
If I ever have more tree work that needs doing, I won’t hesitate to call Doug!

In Mid-​November, 2008, I payed Doug $ 900 to have a tree trimmed. It was a straight-​forward job and I expected it would be completed in a couple of weeks. After repeated calls to Doug to inquire when the work would be done, he finally showed up on New Year’s Day 2009! And he didn’t even finish the work which could have easily been finished in several hours (as it had been before when it was done by another company).
Doug not only made empty promises that he didn’t keep but he asked for more money than the estimate that he’d given me originally. I refused. Whether this had anything to do with the crappy job he did, I don’t know. The tree was trimmed unevenly. I decided to cut my losses and move on.
