I’ve been shopping this store since its founding. For the critics and newcomers San Pedro is a bit of a time capsule. You wont get a Tilly’s experience anywhere in town, Some people like a merchants hot breath on their neck the second they walk in, yuck. Or some salesperson selling them while they are in the changing room, yuck. On the flip, you can pull into the«shop» and just look around and even sit down and talk to your neighbors for a minute. Also it is a brick and mortar store that employs people and has overhead. Of course a place that just drop ships all over the country will be cheaper. Now if you surf and know the cost of things this shop is a find. I’ve ridden these boards forever. Its no secret that San Pedro has some pretty amazing surfing talent. Mikes boards are surfed all over the world and in every conditions. Mikes boards are so fairly priced that I wince whenever i walk into any orange county shop and check the racks. My Tip: send mike a link to any board your considering, then get with him and customize it to you size and style etc. Thats a 1000 – 1500 dollar experience in ventura or OC. Nowhere else will you get that for free. Of course i’m local and have bias, Welcome to San Pedro, I hope you hang around long enough to learn the pace and nuance of it, Its a pretty great town.

When you walk in the shop it looks like a regular clothing store with the usual shirts, shorts, glasses, and tat the far back, the surf boards, skate bards… No one greets you here, not friendly. The prices are high and not worth it. I like to support San Pedro merchants but at such high prices and really bad service Iwill wait and go elsewhere. These people acts they are doing you a favor while overcharging you.

Nice staff. Good products. Good prices. Don’t see why someone would complain. Surf board selection is a little low, but plenty of other great stuff.

I have been shopping/supporting San Pedro Surf and Sport since I was a kid.(turning 30 this year) It was always nice knowing I had a good local shop and shaper just down the road. This shop is definitely a Pedro gem. Family owned and operated with several other regulars who have worked there for quite some time. They have always been extremely friendly and helpful. I bought my first ever surfboard from here to so it definitely has some nostalgia to me. I do agree that some of the items in the shop are a little pricey but I’d much rather spend my money here than PacSun or Tilly’s. Love that they always keep stocked full of of San Pedro and Stavros shirts. I always replenish when I come home to visit or even make over the phone orders. I am active duty military and am stationed away from home but if I want some SPS&S gear I just make a quick call and they hook me up with whatever I need. Couldn’t say enough good things about this place. It’s definitely one of the few places that can be called a legit surf shop. Of course I have to add it’s nice that they carry skate and snowboard gear as well. Been my one-stop shop for years and will continue to be so!

I’ve been here a couple times. The first time the girls were cool, although a little stand*offish. I basically found all I was looking for although it took a while to get an item that I paid for and didn’t see for a long time time. I actually forgot about it until I found my receipt. The second time the chicks in there were just rude to my friend. When you talk a place up and she walks in behind me and gets a «whattdya need» it’s just lame. How about a «how are you» or «hi. are you looking for something in particular»? I’m not saying that you gotta try to be like Nordstrom but a little common courtesy goes a long way. Online is kinda the same. Whatever. There are lots of surf and sport shops between here and the Westside. Sorry guys.

Yes, the prices may be higher than what you can find online but sometimes I don’t mind taking a little hit if it means supporting a local business. I have bought a couple of pairs of shoes here and while the selection is a little limited, the service and friendliness of the staff was superb.

Not very friendly. The prices were a lil on the high side for shirts you could by online for half the price…
