Delicious tor-Pedro sandwich! The meat was sliced thin and was plentiful, fresh roll, crispy lettuce and tangy dressing! Took our sandwich to the coast and had a great afternoon!

This is my first time tryin it. First off. The food was a 5. The location and set up of the restaurant drops it to a 4. Small place no where to eat except outside. I think it was only 2 tables. It was pretty busy and couldn’t tell who had ordered and who was waiting. Nonetheless, that’s all the bad I can say about that place. Service was good and the sandwiches were better. Would definitely come back, but I live 10 hrs away. A must try if you are in the area. I’m a big eater. I July got the 8 inch and it will be plenty for a good lunch. That a bag of chips and a soda. Fair price for the serving size.

Tried their Monte Cristo and Cuban sandwiches today — both very tasty. Since its located in a liquor store you do get some«interesting» people in and around the shop. Great sandwich shop to pick up a bite and go eat someplace else.

Nice little deli inside a liquor store. Awesome hot sandwiches, Monte Christo and Cuban are the best, and the BBQ brisket is pretty amazing too. Haven’t tried the TorPedro but my wife loves it. Prices are higher than your average subway sandwich but is well worth it. Call in orders are a help, never had a problem. Plenty of parking in lot and street parking too. Awesome deli, awesome store, give it a try, won’t be disappointed.

Come on you guys!!! Really? Seriously? Your food taste nasty! The pastrami is harder than wood and the bread taste old. Your website shows a huge difference compared to going into the store. Close that food side of the store. Stop trying to cook for us because you don’t know how too. Your food is ROTTEN!!! YUKKK!!! VOMIT!!! This review is only for the Cuban sandwich because it really is the only thing I get lol. I came here after seeing all the great reviews as well I live close by and been going ever since. Their Cuban Sandwiches are really good. I tried one at the Sandwich saloon and was not happy with it at all, I will stick to my spot Beach City! Love how nice the people are as well!

Stopped by for a maccaroni salad and potato salad. Thought it would be 6.99 for the 32 oz. menu on wall said 6.99 for 32 oz but was informed it was not correct. Paid about $ 25 for 32 oz of each salad. Nobody liked the salads. The potato salad had an orange thousand island tint to it. And the other corkscrew salad just looked unappetizing. Nobody ate them. I had high expectations because of the price and those expectations were not met.

Ok first of all u can’t even put this place in the same boat as busy bee I had the Reuben with pastrami and the Cuban sando, the pastrami taste smoked don’t like my pastrami with a smoke flavor but it was an ok sando, the Cuban was ok I’ve had better but u can’t even say busy bee and this place in the same sentence.

If you’re in San Pedro and looking for a sandwich to eat at a picnic while overlooking scenic ocean views… you’ve come to the right place. It’s a delicious deli inside of a liquor store, so not only can you get a nom sandwich, you can grab some other essential items if you like. We grabbed the TorPedro sub to split(so good in the mouth) and headed to Angels Gate park to have a fun filled afternoon. Pros: Friendly Staff Good selection of sandwiches Fast service Good Parking Cons: a little bit pricey

Busy Bee is the BEST hands down… I’m not sure where these people get off charging almost 8 dollars for an 8 inch sub. I got one roast beef and one torpedo. The torpedo was decent but maybe worth about half the money it costed. The roast beef was so dry and bland. It also looked extra pink, for some odd reason. Seriously, I could have made a way better sandwich myself for that amount of money. Beach City Deli, get over yourselves. Your sandwiches are not that good to be charging people that much. And also raising your prices unexpectedly is pathetic. Either go to SUBWAY or BUSYBEE… you will be satisfied. Subway is actually good in the fact that you can add however many veggies you want. Busy Bee is amazing because their subs have so much flavor and you get a lot of bang for your buck. If you go to Beach City Deli you are pretty much throwing away your money for an overpriced, bland sub. On a side note, it is incredibly petty that this place cannot accept constructive criticism. Having a high rating doesn’t mean you are invincible.

I see that locals may compare Busy Bee and this establishment. They are two very distinctive sandwiches and taste. If you want something not as heavy as Busy Bee and delicious in its own, I’d definitely recommend this place. I was blown away by the quality and taste of this place!

My first few times here I really liked my sandwich(I think I got an avocado turkey). Then one day I tried a buffalo chicken, which was ok-nothing special. Another day my turkey avocado had an unripened avocado in it and my husband’s sandwich had like two slices of meat(I think the Montecristo). It is pricey(the beer too) and their sandwiches don’t stand out, so I will stick with Busybee and Sandwich Saloon.

We stumbled on this hidden gem when we moved from LB to SP in the summer of 2014. In the few months we’ve been here, Beach City has become a monthly(and when we can afford it, weekly) addition to our dietary staples. I have only been to what I must assume is Beach City’s main competition in the sandwich game, Busy Bee, one time. My lady swears by Busy Bee’s hot sandwiches, and when the weather cools down I intend to confirm on my own behalf, but for freshly sliced cold cuts I believe that Beach City is where it’s at! One thing that stands out above the already impressive tasting selection of fresh sliced meats and delicious cheeses is THEBREAD — I don’t know if they bake fresh every day but it certainly seems like it. Since moving to Southern California from the Central Valley in 2011 Beach City’s bread has wowed me farther than the plethora of competitors I’ve tried(Busy Bee, Santa Fe Importers, and Giuliano’s being among the top). Tucked away in a small liquor store(with EVERY flavor of San Pelligrino soda available AND mix and match four pack mini wine bottles) and neighboring a laundry mat, this small sandwich shop is the perfect stop to complete a killer day in San Pedro. We’ve stopped in Beach City before burning blunts hillside at the Korean Bell, tipping cheladas in Sunken City, and even stocked up before a recent road trip to Vegas. Don’t forget to check the board for their weekly specials and the pre-packed BBQ dinners in the cooler.

Went here today for the first time after reading reviews on Unilocal.Got here at 1:30 pm on a Sunday and they were out of eeverything we tried to order. Try said it was busy, but how does that excuse that you have ingredients for four different sandwiches we tried to order??? There wasn’t anyone else buying sandwiches! We ended up leaving and going to the Sandwich Saloon. THEY hadn’t run out of anything despite the fact that they had quite a brisk business going.

NUMBEROFVISITS: 3 WOULD I COMEBACK: yes I don’t know why I hadn’t tried this place until recently. I guess because typically if you’re in Pedro… when people think sandwich, they think Busy Bee. I was in the mood for a Cuban sandwich one day and looked up the closest one to me. Low and behold… it was down the street! What I like about this place is that they have warm sandwiches. And not like Busy Bee where the bread stays room temperature and the meat is hot. This place toasts the bread or puts it in a press. I’m not much of a cold sandwich consumer so that’s my preference. But anyway… FOODCONSUMPTION: Cuban Sandwich: Nothing really amazing about the flavor. What I like about it is that it’s warm, it’s pressed. The banana peppers give it the punch it needs. 3.75 stars. Tri tip sandwich: When ordering, they ask you if you want it spicy. I wasn’t feeling spicy that day(or most days even), so I opted for not. Mine was sweet, but not too sweet. I liked the flavor.(4 stars) Potato salad: it actually has flavor and texture. Onions, celery, pepper, etc so it has a slight kick. I hate with when potato salad is dull and boring and you pay an arm and a leg for it. This is actually pretty decent!(3.5 stars) Macaroni Salad: I forget exactly how it tasted. I remember liking it. I give it 3.5 stars. CUSTOMERSERVICE The employees were really friendly, patient and helpful. One of the girls even checked up on me outside to see if I liked my sandwich. Anyway, that is all… good bye!
