Always amazing sandwiches, and they never mess up my high maintenance order. The guys that work there are awesome, I always look forward to going in the shop. Happy to call it my go-​to in San Mateo

Their tri-​tip sandwiches are worth the week long wait! Delicious and just the right amount of bbq sauce. I got the soft bread, which was a mistake. Should’ve gotten a hearty sourdough, but it was still wonderful.

LOVE THIS PLACE! The sandwiches are always delicious and full of flavor. The guys working there are super fun and always enjoyable to talk to. I normally try to order ahead if it’s around lunch time, but either way the guys are always super fast at making my order. I think the longest I’ve ever wait was 10 minutes or so. Seating is limited so it’s best to plan for somewhere else to sit.

Stopped by after a beach day
We ordered two sandwiches to go and it was ready within a timely manner. When we got home, my girlfriend was bummed to find that her sandwich was missing the avocados it was supposed to have. She said she saw other Unilocalers mentioning similar situations where the avocados were missing. It was a shame because my girlfriend chose that specific sandwich for the avocados.
Overall, the sandwiches were pretty good and had substantial amounts of meat. I would say that the portion size was was quite generous and I can’t complain about the quality of ingredients. I would recommend this place to others, but I would suggest that they check to make sure that all the ingredients are included in their sandwiches.

you are greeted as soon as you get in the door. the workers are friendly and patient. the music is on point. I tried the Central Park heat for the first time and it did not disappoint

I work for an airline at SFO and it is hard to get lunch catered and delivered for our staff meetings. I have been working with the Sandwich Spot for about a year now and Jonathan at the Sandwich Spot has never let us down. He has delivered amazing consistent sandwiches and always on time. The dutch crunch or (ciabatta?) bread is my favorite and always satisfies my sandwich cravings!

My husband took me here after I taught a class at a nearby gym. I wanted something healthy and light! Staff were super patient with me! I’m super annoying when it comes to ordering food, I know what I want and what I don’t want so sometimes I come across as awkward. I’ M NOT! I like food. I want to enjoy it! The guy was super helpful and I never felt rushed. Ordered the turkey sandwich, everything on it and it delivered! Can’t wait to come back to teach in this area again and I will be hitting up this spot. I like the location too! Cool spot, great sandwiches, huge portions, good price. I’ll be back!

I have just been there once, but I love these guys. Try to go on Friday for tri-​tip sandwiches. There are SOOOOOOOOO good.

Dutch crunch bread was very good. The bread was better then the meat.
I got the bad mamma jamma. For $ 9 it was very good. But to contend against the top shops like little Lucca, mr pickle, Ike there is a long way to go.
I shall visit again since I work 1 block away. I would suggest an option of adding 30% more meat maybe so you get a solid big bite.

Digging the group of guys who work there! Very personable and friendly and they always look like they’re having a great time.
First time here, I got a Jon the Bomb on dutch. Perfect balance of meat to veggies and the bread is just so nice and crispy. I loved it. The onion smell was overwhelming but I love me some good onions. Gave my bf the other half since it was so big and he liked it as well. I’ll be returning to try other sammies!

I’m so disappointed! After waiting nearly 30 minutes for my sandwich, I walk back to my office and see that they completely burned the bread on half the sandwich. Totally charred and not really edible. I don’t see how they could possibly miss that unless they just don’t care or are not conscientious about providing a good customer experience.

SO GOOD! I’ve had the Tri-​Tip, Masterpiece and Chicken Chipotle sandwich and they’re all amazing! Also have had a vegetarian one I can’t remember the name of — but it wasn’t too good.
Service is super cute and friendly, only thing thats keeping me from 5 stars is the price — a little too high for just a sandwich!

I was craving a sandwich and popped in to grab one. Menu is very large and can be a bit overwhelming on the first visit.
I ended up with a Mama something or another sandwich that included pastrami, roast beef, salami along with choice of cheese.
Service was pretty prompt but the sandwich wasn’t anything to write home about. I’ve had better sandwiches from the Whole Foods delis. Meats were mediocre.
I still prefer Bonne Sante and Ike’s for their special sauces.

Me & my boyfriend come here atleast once a week every week from San Leandro. It’s kind of a drive especially with traffic, but it’s definitely worth it. The guys are super nice & already know our orders every time we walk in. There’s lots of sandwiches to choose from. I always get a Jon the Bomb on a soft roll. If you haven’t tried this place you’re missing out.

Go out of your way to come here on the weekend and get the trip tip sandwhich! Holy cow it’s so delicious! They definitely know what they’re doing with the trip tip.
The people here are super friendly and take their time helping you through the GIANT menu. So many great sandwhiches. Definitely a favorite food joint in San Mateo. I recommend the dirty birdy and the humdinger. It seems like the sandwhiches are pricey but it’s because they’re large servings. They load it up on the meat so it’s well worth the price. You won’t regret it.

First time visit. Small place with only a few tables for a quick bite. The sandwich was delicious. I had ‘Jon the Bomb’ and it was excellent.

Did not even notice this place until walking by one day with a friend. The place is TINY but crazy packed. Inside you will find a cool menu on a chalkboard, with all kinds of tasty sandwich choices written in various colors
We went there during lunch time and the folks who work there were churning out sandwiches factory-​pipeline style. Hot sandwiches coming up! Move it people!
I got the Black-​and-​Orange because it had jam in it. And man, that sandwich did not disappoint. Piping hot toasted bread, Large Large chunks of juicy chicken, large leaves of water crisp lettuce, and juicy onions. Man, this place knows how to make their sandwiches yo
The portions are also huge. Definitely more than enough to make anyone full.
The wait for the food was pretty fast. The staff there are friendly. The inside is clean, and there is even a small table for you to sit outside.
Worth coming back again and again

I’ve been to many, I mean many sandwich joints, but this one, oh man… hits the spot every time! There is an olé saying, «The way to a man’s heart is through his stomach,» and baby, you «betcha!»
For you single ladies out there, they have some good «LQQKIN» studyly-​manwich working behind the counter — that will make your mouth wataaaaaa! So come on down, and bring a friend or two!
Man, I gotta say this place is the BEST! I always get my ROAST BEEF sandwiches here (#17 & #20), and they are GINORMOUS! I mean, HUGE! Hahaha!!! The amount of roast beef they slab in the middle, it’s just amazing. Such a GREAT DEAL!!! Thank you, thank you The Sandwich Spot!!!
I highly recommend ordering any of their sandwiches and make sure to always, «make it a meal» which comes with a GINORMOUS sandwich, chips, and your choice of drink on tap, or checkout their healthy drink options! To top that off, their prices here is like yesteryears and probably the best deal in the whole Bay Area!
